My Top 10 Blues Licks

Hi Patreons!
I'm thrilled to present to you a blues shuffle in the key of A flat minor, inspired by the timeless track "Cold Shot" by the legendary Stevie Ray Vaughan.
This blues piece revolves around the chords Abm7, Dbm7, and Eb7, spanning 17 bars – a rather unconventional choice.
In this solo, I've paid homage to Stevie Ray Vaughan by preserving his classic riff and incorporating some of his original licks. However, the majority of what you'll hear is a fusion of my own creative ideas, with a subtle jazz twist. The solo blends traditional blues licks with jazz elements like enclosures and chromatic runs.
Scroll down to find an analysis that breaks down the scales and chords used in the solo. If you want to dive deeper into the finer details of specific parts, I suggest taking a look at my lessons on enclosures and chromatics.
And here's an important detail to keep in mind: the click (metronome) you hear in the background are on the beats 2 and 4.

I also found a backing track on YouTube that you can use for practice. But here's a challenge: try playing these licks over a standard 12-bar blues progression. Some of them fit well with a traditional blues in a major key.
If you've got any questions or need a hand with anything, just give me a shout. I'm here to help.
Thank you for your continued support.
Warm regards, Emanuel
