Merry Christmas! Billing paused for 2 months

Thanks for all the support, everyone!

I've suspended all monthly payments for 1 January and will do the same for 1 February. New or returning patrons will probably still be charged the initial sign-up fee (I presume that's how it works), but recurring subscriptions are paused.

Until around March-April this year, I was killing myself over my writing schedule. Between my demanding full-time job and my writing (another demanding full-time job), I had virtually no time when I wasn't working, thinking about work, sleeping, or dreaming about work. Then covid hit, and I realised if I kept up that schedule, I might end up literally killing myself. For better or worse, I've still had a paid job throughout the pandemic. Constant stress and lack of sleep don't make for a healthy immune system, and a compromised immune system can be fatal right now.

In an attempt to regain some balance in my life, I cut back on my writing, comitting to post a small chapter to Patreon every week, and later a big chapter every couple of weeks. I managed to keep that up (barely), but I soon found that left me barely any time for either the ebook edits of Books 1-4 (which are becoming more than just edits), or editing the new chapters, or generating a healthy lead of chapters to continually revise before I post them (as I did previously).

So for the next couple of months, I'm going to try to catch up without killing myself over it. I'll still be writing. In fact, I may very well be writing more than normal. I just won't be pressuring myself to upload new chapters on a regular schedule, and will be spending most of my time editing/rewriting. I might also dabble with other book ideas that might not see the light of day for a long time, if ever. Or perhaps have another go at Dupes. Basically whatever I feel like writing at the time, I'll write.

Right now, I feel like fixing shit, so I'm currently making major revisions to Undermind Book 5. What I've posted so far for Book 5 are very much first drafts, or what other writers sometimes call word vomit. I kinda hate some of those chapters, but haven't have time to fix them until now. Now I can bite the bullet and make some significant continuity-affecting changes, and if the writing gods are with me, I'll hammer this thing into a shape I'm actually happy with. Call it a rewrite or heavy edit or whatever, but I don't want to charge subscribers for content that's only kinda-sorta new. I'll post the first two of these reworked chapters tonight. I still don't consider them final, but if you want to read them in their current imperfect state, you can. The first chapter alters ancient history and the nature of certain demon races. The second chapter contains an even more significant change that'll have ripple effects through all subsequent chapters (hopefully for the better).

Thanks again for your patience and continued patronage. Happy holidays if you have any, and good riddance to 2020!
