In regards to Sams blaster/projectile launcher, it probably operates on a similar principle to the AT-TEs main gun which is referred to as a heavy projectile cannon or mass driver cannon. So most likely the same general projectile force applied to blaster energy bolts can be done to projectile imparting a slight ignition effect similar to a blaster.
