We create to express an idea, thought or story that can speak to as many listeners as it can cultivate a relationship with. A song must be able to sit with a person when it is needed most without our aid or knowledge of each instance. That is when I truly feel successful in life. Music is a portal for those who cannot speak to bring comfort to those who are willing to listen. This song is for the winter and the trees who witness the weight of our worst days and continue to quietly stand grounded anyway. This is for the tree stump that kept on living and delivering nutrients and information to its forest community and for the piece of scrap wood that kept us warm on the coldest night of the year.

This song came from a live recorded video that we never shared because the power shut down before the song ended. We never came back to it and eventually released the final recording. I don't believe we've ever played it together since. Still a favorite!
