Blog: What's coming?

Hi, guys!

No funny things in this entry, sorry. But I think we need to talk, so sit down for a sec.

You know... When a person loves another person very much...

Sorry. But seriously tho, just a quick word, for I think

I'VE BEEN DOING IT ALL WRONG!

See, so far my process has been:

- Rush to create THING

- Post THING in my social media (starting to feel the fact I have too many, BTW)

- Interact with the engagement THING created

[ A bit of an eternity goes by...]

- Post THING in HD, with alt versions, extra lore, CSP file and all that jazz for subscribers.

Issues:

1) THING has to be either censored for Fanbox or comply with DA's mercurial TOS (so it's Ok to post or not depending on the phase of the moon, the direction of the wind in a specific point in Madagascar and the half life of a secret isotope hidden somewhere in Black Mesa...).

2) This whole deal comes from MY INSECURITIES and the need I have for people to be able to watch my works. They're... I pour a lot of me in these works. Probably more than it's healthy. Hard to put it into words, but I have made being able to create these fantasies a core thing of my existence. IDK what I would be without them. So I CRAVE for people to be able to watch my stuff and to like it.

And because of this, I feel like I'm kindda punishing my subscribers.

The very people who are getting out of their way to support me are getting the short end of the stick in this whole thing.

These are my concerns:

1- I'm not sure how likeable the extra content is. I'm literally getting almost no feedback on that and, TBH, that's disheartening, but mostly it makes me worry about the fact I'm not serving you the stuff you'd want. So PLEASE PLEASE, tell me what you think about that.

2- I'm serving subscribers what, somehow, feels a bit like leftovers. Sure it's bigger and has some more detail, but the bulk of it everyone has seen already in my social media.

3- It doesn't just feel like leftovers. It has to be censored, so it's COLD leftovers! I know I state in my introduction that my subscriptions are just a way to support me and all, but still feels like I'm kindda robbing you. T_T

So, WHAT TO DO?

o About point 3... I'm not sure what to do there. Will probably do one last attempt at Substar sometime later this year. That would solve most of this issue (although it comes with some of its own...)

If anyone has any idea on how to circumvent this matter I'm more than happy to listen to you.

o On what can be done now, first and foremost, let's change the order of operations. From now on:

- THING is created

- THING and all the extras is posted FOR SUBSCRIBERS

- I REALLY REALLY (Seriously, I can't stress this enough) I REALLY would like for you guys to give me feedback on the stuff you would like to see and whatnot.

- After a brief time to allow Subscribers enjoy the whole thing, I post THING-lite in my socials.

- I hopefully get to engage with everyone about the stuff they like or would like from me (SERIOUSLY!).

Still won't be paywalling the main content, since, as I stated, my main goal is for my works to be seen and (if possible) enjoyed by as many people as possible, but this way I feel like I'm rewarding my subscribers a little more and punishing them a little less.

o Another thing I'm gonna be doing is leaning heavily on drawing your characters. I'm eager to do some fanart of artists I really enjoy (it's basically the only way I know to thank things and I have a lot to thank to some artists out there...), but I feel I'm missing many chances to draw your characters people. So from now on, every time I create a gadget or draw a scene in The Mirror, I want to use your characters to do so.

I would love to create some kind of character database to do this, but that would require me to create some kind of subscribers database first, which is a whole can of worms of its own (specially for DA, subscriptions is a frigging mess there).

At any rate, PLEASE, those of you who are subscribing to my sites now, and those of you who might be in the future, send me a word, a pic or, preferably, both, in a DM.

The best way to reach me is through Pixiv, Twitter or DA's DMS. I'm looking forward to play with your lovely characters. ^^

This is probably the first, but not last entry on this matter in the coming days, and I have A LOT of getting up to date to do.
