You're not writing Antivirus software, here. There's no need for constant updates. You wrote a mod, you sell the mod, you get paid. Good on you. Everyone walks away happy. What you're trying to do now is do the work once and get paid forever for it. You want to run a Patreon? Fine. You want to ask people if they'd be willing to pay you to continue modding? Fine. Be up-front about it. But locking access to completed works behind a paywall, telling me that I HAVE to pay you REPEATEDLY for work you did ONCE? That's not okay. That's not what Patreon is for.

I wasn't fond of the older Hulk mod (nothing personal but the hand slap I found annoying but this new one, my god I'm in love with that nuke clap or whatever its called--seriously awesome shockwave that sends cars flying even if they're down the street.

Your Flash mod is the reason I bought GTA on the PC a long while back, before Patreon. I sensed there's a passion to what you do and it's not all monetarily driven. Now because of Patreon, we've gotten to see so much more for the Flash Mod than what it used to be and I'm glad. Regardless of whatever happens, I hope your passion for modding remains, it's an amazing talent and I'm happy to pay and help out.

I concur with all of the above and am embarrassed to even share a first name with that moron. Unfortunately, there are monkeys with spanners on the Internet like this moron. So I’d suggest a two pronged approach: 1) DON’T GIVE UP. We can find a way around twerps like this. And genuine patreons, if you do find someone reuploading, report them. 2) Your free Wednesdays is a really great idea to pull the teeth of the people who think everything should be free for them ever. You can include as part of the Wednesday unlock an (obviously less angry) explanation as to why the paylock is in place the other days which may help lure more patreons. I’d suggest a mod “spotlight” where a specific mod is free each week and start with the old ones. Someone who still wants to hack you after that has no soul to speak of: and hopefully even if they did, no one else would want it.

He should also be able to comprehend that if he knows how to code, he should understand the work and hours you had to put in to make these scripts happen. I am happy to support you and your mods. Yes you pay for gta one time, but these mods are excellent. You put your time and create these beautiful scripts. I love the iron man script, and ghost rider one. Very well rounded scripts. It takes a lot of hard work to code stuff like that. I applaud you for standing up for yourself. I have seen a lot of great potential mods fail because they could not support themselves financially. I.E imperial Assault 2 for Star Wars:Empire at War.

Julio, ignore that individual. I used to use your mods all the time, when my computer was powerful enough to enjoy them. This was before you attributed a registration fee to unlock the content. It is safe to say that it didn't bother me and others; considering that I am able to comment on this impertinent acrimonious post. I will pay for your mods because I ENJOY them. I still pay because once I purchase a better computer, I will use them; if you continue to make them. In this world good things are not free. I do not know much about coding but I do know enough about capitalism. For some reason the author of this disreputable post thinks that your form of capitalism has a malicious connotation.....**shrugs shoulders**.

Anyway so I get it, I totally do. I had a client once tell me that she wanted the fonts I used to create her logo. I told her it would be $1,400 (the cost of licensing the fonts). She was pissed, she said its just typography. Well its not, its art just the same as a piece of software, character design in a game, logos and graphics, any design work you see---an Julio is a designer, he designed these mods, is a legally protected product and his owner rights should be respected. After all, he's being a hell of a lot nicer than I am. I'm a real son of a b^5tch and sued people (and won, each and every time) someone infringed on my intellectual property. So unfortunately its irritating to have to go through these motions to protect your property---but not doing so, well as you said, might as well just call it a day & not produce....and the people who love and support your mods really do NOT want that to happen and stand behind you 100%...

That guy is total asshat if he does that, that’s such a dick thing to do to take something someone puts hundreds of hours into and pirate it because you don’t care about others. It’s stealing, and it’s wrong.

Its irritating to have to do this....but as a graphic designer and a very firm believer in artist rights (which extends to web developers, software developers, game developers, etc). Its unfortunate that, one, two or fifteen inconsiderate jackasses have to make it difficult for the artists to make a living. Take this for example, I saw a logo on a commercial vehicle the other day. A significant portion of the logo consisted of a vector building at an angle---I knew exactly where that image came from. It was stock vector art (which someone supposed to pay for to use it, BUT you cannot use it in your logos--that's one of the many things you cannot do with other peoples art). Its unethical, and its criminal. So it was a lazy designer who knew he or she wasn't going to get paid much for that logo and didn't give a $h%t about the artist who actually designed that logo--which cost that designer hours of their work, and thousands in educational courses to better their craft and the software to create it. What you do is no different, you should be compensated for it and not have to have to police the whole internet to make sure a few pricks aren't benefiting (or worse, profiting off of) something you made that took time, hours of education and sotware too.
