2024-06-15 10:57:04 +0000 UTCI adore Chance. I'm so happy y'all have made him the token guy. π JK. I'm not sure that I have a film that got me into horror. I just kind of like what I like in any genre, so the topic threw me. π€ I loved challenging myself as a kid and convincing my mom to rent me horror movies from Blockbuster and Hollywood Videos. I was the baby, so at this point I was like in elementary school, my siblings were long gone out of the house. So from Child's Play, to Nightmare on Elm Street, to Candyman, to the IT miniseries (the film the caused lifelong trauma), Darkness Falls, Event Horizon, etc. etc. I would basically torment myself watching these movies to prove I could do it. π€·πΎββοΈ Some of these I still can't watch, but others I love to death now. I'm just happy I wasn't turned off of horror from doing this to myself. Then there are other films and media that I didn't think about as horror that I absolutely loved as a kid and now that think about it, I suppose would be the answer to the question: Aliens and the Thriller music. I have seen Aliens countless times since I was a kid. It is one of my favorite movies. It is my favorite sci-fi movie of all-time. When the Thriller music video premiered, I was only one, but they would play it like every Halloween. I loved Michael Jackson growing up, BAD poster on my wall and everything. So I remember seeing the Thriller video for the first time and hearing Vincent Price's voice being terrified as the zombies crawled out the grave. The transformation, the slow walk, the looks, etc. It was amazing! So I guess, I'd go with those two. P.S. I miss the dollar movies!! OMG. They were awesome to go to as a kid!
