Freedom Fighters 2020
Added 2020-03-11 23:47:35 +0000 UTCJust Read all twelve issues of freedom fighters which started in 2019 and finished in 2020 (technically I need Mastermen issue 1 to complete it) and I really enjoyed it. Set on EarthX it was a strong tale of slavery, loss and finding something to fight for. There's some tricky characters to write because they often come off as cheesy and hallow, but uncle sam was funny, a little sad, huge in the end and the series handled him being a metaphysical being really well. The comic was arrogant in its love of America but you expect that blind arrogance from certain characters. There were some plot holes, huge supernazis missing, but they were replaced with scary plastic men and a great reworking of Cyborg superman as cyborg overman. How did bombmans grandad have his farther, and his farther have bomb man when all three are bomb men, shhit explodes when it touches their skin.
