Final Orginity v.0.3.3, progress report (II)
Added 2023-10-25 19:16:54 +0000 UTCHey, hey, people!
How's everyone doing? Here in Valencia, we're starting to feel the autumn vibes. For instance, by the time Space and Salamin return home, it's either dusk or night. Sometimes, we're treated to breathtaking skies on our way back, and being the sensitive souls we are, Space and I can't resist snapping photos of the twilight scenery.
But enough of the mushy stuff – let's get down to business. After working quietly in the shadows for a while, it's time for us to be transparent and fill you in on what's cooking in our PCs:
FINAL_ORGINITY v0.3.3 (Yup! that'll be the name) is on the horizon, and today, we're going to share our progress and even drop a few in-game screenshots.

HOW'S THE PROGRESS?
History tends to repeat itself. Before releasing each new version, the three of us on the team sit down to plan the next update. What seems simple and doable on paper tends to get more complex with time, resulting in a version with way more content than originally expected.
ART
In the artistic department, we've created 7 new characters with portraits (some with different expressions) and around 20 new NPCs. Oh, and we're also unveiling a new "skin" for Amy. Additionally, we've expanded the tilesets, adding new pages for the first time since the game's launch. So, what's left? Wrapping up a few scenes. We have one completed, two in advanced development, and one in the early stages.

PROGRAMMING IS WRITING
As an RPG, programming Final Orginity is essentially writing Final Orginity. There are plenty of lines of text that get written and, more often than not, rewritten. Considering how talkative Amy is and the various diverging paths her decisions can take, programming a short event can sometimes become quite lengthy. It's crucial to account for what the player might have decided earlier and how it might affect them at that moment.
But let's get to the point. The story is in an advanced development stage. What does that mean? Two of the three storylines are nearly complete, with only the final version connection remaining. The third one has the first half of the event programmed. Salamin estimates he has about 25 to 30 dialogues left to write to finish this version.
Aside from these three main events, the new update includes a side event that can be completed both during Amy's job search days (from version 5) and within the events of the 7th version itself.

We're always open to 'new mechanics'.
So, what's the bottom line? Final Orginity v0.3.3 needs a few more weeks of work. These dates coincide with a short break that Salamin is taking after spending most of the summer working, among other things, on Final Orginity. But don't you worry; he'll have Google Docs handy to complete some missing dialogues when he's in the toilet or something.
Well, that's all for today. In a few days, we'll be back with the final episode of our Meet The Ropo Team series. This time, it's our beloved and talented artist, SpaceSandwich's turn. Stay tuned to hear what he has to share. In the meantime, remember...
Take good care, be very, very happy, and we'll see you in the next post.
