One year of Final Orginity

Hey, hey, dearests mindflayers, ogres, orcs, and goblins,

Today is a very special day. One year ago, on May 6th, 2022, three friends embark on the greatest adventure of our lives: to release the first version of Final Orginity to the world. Twelve months and four (almost five) content updates later, it hasn't always been easy, but after a year, we are still here, alive and coding, with the motivation to get where we want to go. And it's all thanks to you.

To celebrate the first anniversary of the game, we are going to tell you:

THE TRUE STORY NEVER BEFORE TOLD OF FINAL ORGINITY

ROPODUCTIONS' PREHISTORY.

Although the first version dates back to May 2022, the history of Ropoductions goes back to March 2021. Originally, there were eight friends willing to make the game. Several of the first details that meant the foundations of this story were taken from this first meeting. Here are some of them:

As you know, from that original group, there were finally three of us left. The people you know: A comic artist and with some previous experience in NSFW video game development, Atom. A very technical digital artist with great mastery of the pixel, Space. And a writer with artistic interests and a desire for his first great story, Salamin.

The three of us have worked for nothing, not even feedback. Space, leading from the pixel, Salamin, writing and assisting Space with the props, and Atom with the concepts and programming. This way, little by little, we made v.0.0.5.

THE BEGINNINGS.

The first version was very well received, but despite all our efforts, it still had very little content. We had in mind a VERY big game, and we opted for a slow pacing. This may have been an impediment in the early development, as many players are eager for quick content. However, I believe that in the long run, all of this will have been worth it.

The second update, 0.0.8, came out shortly after and introduced twisted narrative details that we wanted to present. We are very proud of the characters of Strom, Rokas, and Dolores. We hold them dear and you will see them soon in the next update.

The early reception was very encouraging. pleased to see how they started to rate us positively on F95, and how patrons were starting to trust us little by little. Additionally, this was the first version in which our collaborator Springs participated, highlighting the translation of the dialogues, especially mastering various registers such as Gomul's Scottish.

INTERNAL CRISIS AND UPRISING

With the arrival of summer in 2022, the Ropoductions team was planning to develop a third version, 0.1.3, a much more ambitious version than what we had previously envisioned and which already began to show a little of our dream of creating a narrative with multiple paths.

We faced several challenges for the development. Atom, who had been programming the video game up to that point, had lost availability to dedicate himself to it. On the other hand, it coincided with a long trip that Salamin had taken in August.

At the end of that month, we met and put in effort together to finish the version. On one hand, programming began to be entirely carried out by Salamin, and on the other hand, Space took on more responsibilities in the artistic aspect. Springs, for his part, began to collaborate in the artistic aspect, where we highlight this time the design and the voice of all the goblins.

The third version was released with more bugs than we wanted, and it did not please everyone who perhaps asked for more linearity. However, it served to demonstrate that we have high ambitions with Final Orginity, with details such as how you dress affecting relationships with the world.

In addition, with this version, we opened an account on Itch.io, and, one more thing, we were particularly thrilled about the article on the LewdGamer portal that tells everything that could be said about the game in v0.1.3.

AMY PENETRATES ST. POLLA

The next two versions, 0.2.0 and 0.2.5, are the first ones entirely located in our dream environment, St. Polla. While it is true that in each version, we expanded our tilesets, with the next two versions, we designed different elements that make each district of St. Polla a unique environment.

We wanted to reflect all of this in the architecture details of each place, in the NPCs themselves who frequent each of these sceneries. Our desires for future updates are to introduce lore, new narratives, and, above all, NSFW events in all these districts.

In these two versions, we see an Amy who is starting to learn how to manage on her own and to understand the true power behind that waist. In these versions, the young Amy is capable of finding an apartment and paying for her first month, all by herself. But it's not all about surviving and looking for her sister. The situations she experiences are gradually changing our protagonist. Without a doubt, the ship of corruption of the young Amy has already set sail... and there is no turning back.

With the new restructuring, the Ropoductions team has been able to work at a faster pace with respect to v0.1.3. With the release of 0.2.0 and 0.2.5, we have managed to capture the interest of more players, and we have increased our community... at all levels.

For example, since 0.2.5B we have had an independent sponsor who, with his extra contribution, helps us commit even more to reaching our goal. We are enormously grateful to him. Also, since this version, we have the collaboration of a new and talented digital artist whom we do not know anything about (not even his nationality) and who has already drawn for us.

We are very excited about this type of news, and we will introduce them when the time comes.

WHAT HAVE WE LEARNED FROM ALL OF THIS

AND NOW... WHAT?

The future for Ropoductions Games is hopeful but presents certain challenges. For example, from July we will have to find another way to work on this project, as until now we had been meeting in Salamin's office to work both digitally and conceptually. Meetings were also held there. For a few weeks now, Salamin has been working from home, and we will all organize remotely. Another sad example, since the end of v0.2.5, our Springs has stopped collaborating with us to focus on his own projects.

Nevertheless, our team looks to the future with hope. We are aware that we are working well. It's clear that the game has a lot of content and a lot to improve, but for only being at v0.2.5B, it feels not bad at all.

With each version of Final Orginity that we release, we feel more committed. Sometimes it's difficult to develop an amateur video game and pay the rent and stuff, but for now, we are all rowing in the same direction and preparing juicy things for the future. For example, the new scenes, characters and situations in the sixth version, which opens Rokas route. Another example: you can't imagine all the new songs for the game that we have in the drawer and that we haven't been able to show you yet!

This entire journey (sorry for the cliché) wouldn't have been possible without you. At Ropoductions, we face the second year with even more enthusiasm and ambition. Remember: The plans for Amy are very extensive and cover a lot.

We hope to continue this epic story to the end, and to be able to write a post in the future celebrating that we have achieved it, all together, with your help.
