The sound of Final Orginity (I)
Added 2023-06-19 17:51:49 +0000 UTCHey hey people,
Have you ever wondered where all the music in Final Orginity comes from? At Ropoductions, we always strive to make the most of every IMG or animation we bring forward through programming. It's no small feat, as behind each frame lies a whole universe of work and authism.
One way we achieve this is through a fun and engaging narrative that gives meaning to every element we draw. But another crucial aspect is the music and sound design. A great soundtrack has the power to transport players into the game and its aesthetics, while also establishing an emotional connection with the storyline.
In today's post, we'll talk a bit about the musical aspect and answer some FAQs:
- Do we steal music? NO. All the music in Final Orginity is sourced directly from a music bank called Motion Array, to which we have a subscription thanks to all of you. It's a digital archive that goes beyond music (some of the sound effects are also sourced from there). Here's an example of a track that has already become an instant classic.
- What kind of music do we select? Typically, we choose tracks that match the game's aesthetic. Each piece of music should have retro elements or resemble chiptune or 8-bit music, while also being capable of evoking emotions and transporting us into the story.
- Is the music set in stone in the game? NO. With each version, we search and test different songs. That doesn't mean the songs we leave in can't be changed in the future. Motion Array has a vast repertoire that keeps expanding. That's why we're constantly on the lookout for new tracks that can fit our story. Here's a track that we'll be debuting in the sixth version.
- How do we select the tracks? Usually, during his nocturnal autistic moments, Salamin listens to track after track from Motion Array. He makes a selection and shares them with the rest of the team, who give their "Ok" or "Not Ok." Many of these tracks haven't been released in the game yet because they are reserved for... well, more special moments.
The Motion Array subscription (and the overall continuity of the game) would not be possible without your support. We are deeply grateful and motivated to keep improving in every aspect.
We promise to keep you informed every remaining step of the way for this next update. So thank you from the depths of our hearts for being a part of this journey.
Bye bye, take care and see you in the next post.
