Meet Our First Custom Plugin
Added 2025-01-27 19:12:06 +0000 UTCHey, hey, people,
What’s up? How’s everyone doing? We’re here working hard on the upcoming release of Final Orginity v0.4.3. There’s still plenty to do, but rest assured, most of the heavy lifting is done, and now we’re just tying up loose ends and, well, testing.
Today, we’re announcing something really cool. As we mentioned in a few previous posts, Ropoductions has started working with Gansex, Salamin’s stepbrother and a real-life electronics engineer. He offered to work on a project that would help automate some parts of Final Orginity’s development. The result of his efforts is a script that helps us with the game’s translations. Thanks to his work, the beginning of the game is now available in Polish, and soon, it’ll be available in other languages too!
But that’s not all—Gansex recently helped us with something even cooler (if that’s possible). He’s developed a custom RPG Maker MZ plugin just for us. That’s right, the very first plugin designed exclusively for the development of Final Orginity. Cool, isn't it?
Meet CharacterPictureManager
CharacterPictureManager is the plugin we’ve been dreaming of for a while now. It’s an alternative image manager for RPG Maker MZ, designed to tackle a classic development issue.
In the past, Salamin often had to manually write very complex “if… else…” functions to make sure Amy’s portrait matched her skin in specific situations. A great example is the Getting in St. Polla episode, where Amy can interact with different NPCs while wearing a military outfit, her regular outfit, or the slave outfit. I still remember some early development bugs where Amy’s portraits didn’t match her walking sprite, creating an awkward dissonance.
To avoid this problem, we decided that outfits (skins) would be tied directly to specific quests. For instance, the bikini could only be used during Water Monday, and the slave outfit was restricted to the Rokas route.
Well, thanks to this plugin, we can now simplify the development process and create situations where Amy can choose what to wear for a quest. Imagine strolling through St. Polla with your favorite skin and seeing that version of Amy in every NPC interaction! Or picture Amy attending a ball wearing the Horse-Woman outfit—or even a maid outfit! With this new plugin, those scenarios are now totally possible.

Let’s all give Gansex a big round of applause—not just for taking the initiative to develop this plugin, but for doing it in such a brilliant and satisfying way. His involvement with Ropoductions will continue, not only in Final Orginity but in other projects as well. With an engineer on our team, the sky’s the limit.
That’s all for now, people. Take care, stay super happy, and we’ll see you in the next post.
