America's Looming Eviction Crisis

Hello, friends! This week's video is about the huge wave of evictions barreling towards the United States. Without a federal eviction moratorium, and with both unemployment benefits and state-level moratoriums about to expire, we could see 28 million Americans lose their homes. In this episode, I compare the coming wave of evictions to the housing crash of 2008, and offer a few solutions. Hope you enjoy!

^ same here. I finally, and happily, joined as a Patreon supporter after watching this video. Great videos all around. The first one I watched (Capitalism And The American Pandemic Response) I shared on Facebook - which I never do, but it was so good I wanted more people to see it. Great work.

Thanks so much! I’m so glad you liked it :)

This video literally made me have to send you some money. Well thought, well executed, and overall you'd be better running the country then some people.

I lost my first and only house during the mortgage crisis. However, it never really occurred to me until this video the actual amount of wealth that was effectively transferred at that by permanently removing so many homes from the market and converting then to rental properties.

I'm in Australian and where unfortunately going through the same thing here. Our prime Minister and ruling party neoliberal who very Brad grudgingly did a soft lock down and wage insurance unfortunately that's about to end and we're now going through a full blown out break a second wave 10 times worse than the First meaning my state of Victoria we'll have to go back into lockdown and the prime Minister is basically told us that shit out of luck and we're on our own :(

If we were in a sane country you're list of solutions would be seriously considered and even implemented. Unfortunately, our country is huge on pride and greed but suffers from lack of wisdom and compassion. The worst-case scenarios are the most likely to occur unless we reverse course, which as of right now seems dead set on continuing the pandemic in the name of protecting the economy. Once I heard the talking heads suggest older Americans to take the risk of contracting the disease in order to keep the markets happy I knew we lost to the pandemic and an uncaring elite. :-(
