Once upon a time, Megan Purdy got tired of people asking the question, "How come women don't write about comics?" To show the inquisitive their ignorance, she started Women Write About Comics to let them know that yes, women not only like comics, but we like talking about them and writing about them too. Joined by Claire Napier and many others, they set about changing the world, one blog post at a time.
The site has grown immensely since its 2011 inception, and we are now proudly a place that uplifts marginalized voices, providing a space to speak passionately about the industry we love so much. This diverse group of intersectional, international feminists love providing equally diverse insight into the world of comic book culture and the comic book industry at large.
If you happen to google Women Write About Comics one day, you'll find our current site at the top of the page, but scroll a little bit further and you'll spot this blast from the past. Pardon the broken images, but this is a great way to look back and see how far we've come.
Thanks for joining us for the ride...!
