Sorry, I should have posted 2 separate questions. I think a short on the Engineer Special Brigades may work. The first was at Normandy and that usually has broad traction. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engineer_Special_Brigade

Thanks! The M1 Garand topic is one of those popular history things that could do well with a full video I think. Since anyone who has heard anything about the Pacific War has heard about the Marines not getting the M1. Mine planting service might be a little too niche though

Battle Order

That’s a shame. I thought the USMC M1 and Soviet APC shorts were particularly well made

Archie George

Maybe although it's not in my immediate plans. Navy stuff and WW2 stuff don't usually do that well on my channel

Battle Order

Do you plan to go all the way back to the mine planting service? I think the engineering special brigades from WW2 might be a good subject for one of your shorts

Archie George

The Army used to have heavy forces prepositioned on LMSRs at Diego Garcia. The peak was in 2002, with a 2x2 Heavy Brigade (2 armor, 2 mech) with a division slice of support (arty, engineers, MLRS, etc.), a 1x1 brigade, a theater opening package and 15 days of sustainment. It sort of got wittled down over GWOT though and now it's an IBCT, Sustainment Brigade theater opening package, and 2 ammunition ships. The Marine equivalent has historically been larger (enough to equipment 3 MEBs) but now it's only able to equip 2 MEBs because one of their prepositioning squadrons got canned in the 2010s

Army equipment prepositioned on Navy ships? I always thought the Marines get priority for rides lol. But seriously, I’m looking forward to it.

I'm planning on going a video on APS-3 (prepositioned stocks afloat) first, which is Army equipment aboard Navy ships. After that I might do a video on the US Army's navy

Battle Order

Ah good to see the Army’s maritime force get some recognition. They’re a secret even within the Army. Are you planning on doing a video on the Army’s waterborne fleet?
