Warden Chapter 1 Revised Pages 44-45

Here's hoping for less biblical levels of disasters occur. The past few years had the plague (Covid), locust swarms in Ethiopia and Somalia, and Fire Tornados in Australia, and a European war break out. It has to get better. What can I say, I'm an optimist.
These pages will replace the old pages 28 and 29. Page 29 will further be split from 45 to 46 and Page 30 (which is out next week) will be further split into 47-49. That should do it for the page numbers for the Revision pages. These extra pages should give enough room to add more exposition and cover up plot holes.
So here are the events as I have them in my mind.
1. Warden is told of her city and compound's fall. She is retired and her current duties lies with the Prisoner.
2. Her subordinates have mostly been conscripted. The few guards here stall for time as she sets about resurrecting the Prisoner.
3. She lowers the mechanism from where he is hoisted in the air to the ground and opens up his tomb.
4. She is able to remove the lock in his heart. Which is why he has a gaping hole there.
5. It does not work. She followed the ancient instructions but he's not moving. She panics. Crisis of faith ensues.
6. She places her amulet around her neck on the Prisoner's neck spike. Hoping that it works. It does not.
7. Not knowing what to do, she hears the vanguard of the elvish forces reaching her bridge. She decides to buy the resurrection process some time. Nothing is happening with the prisoner, she is just hoping. She goes out to make her last stand.
8. Grace enters the tomb - and... I'll continue what happens off-screen next week.
