So. Color has been really fun! I'm really happy with how these are coming out.
After the dream sequence is over I'll start pulling out of full colors soon and go to a more Sin City approach to color to emphasize magic as a narrative device. I plan on going 100% full color with Book 2 in about 60+ pages later when the plot progresses.
Story Points.
The damage the Prisoner is speaking about comes from fighting against the intrusive mind magic without having a strong will like the Warden has. It can be caused as a stroke, nose bleeds, unconsciousness, and other forms of brain damage. Rape in this case 'lubricates' and leaves the victim unable to resist whatever thoughts, feelings, and visuals that is pushed upon them.
Even a normal mind bridge causes damage to a normal person. The Warden however is a badass and VERY stubborn.
Other things to note is that the Warden's mind is replica of the prison where she was in a position of authority. The grid patterns are there because she is always measuring distance to compensate for her missing eye and her lack of depth perception.
