The plant is based off of the common Peace Lily - a very phallic looking plant. The pollen's narcotic effect becomes permanent with the guidance of the mage class, also known as the Owls. This baseline emotional/mental state is highly erotic and weak willed.
The Owls are tasked to train the newly captured 'animals' to accept their new lot in life as 'seed beds.'
