Dave Simms, the creator of the comic Cerberus, told someone during a comic portfolio review, "Come back after you made 200 pages." Ever since I heard that rumor, this number has always been a benchmark for me. Next number is 1000. I heard from many professionals, that's when you can really call yourself a comic artist. (Of course I think they're mostly full of it. But it's nice to have goals.)
