Sooo.... you know how fracking is all sorts of terrible and causes gas to seep out into the water reservoirs? Turns out that technology is also good for just creating underground lakes when its not near natural gas or oil fields. New lakes that are heated by earth and are now perfect for thermal energy plants.

So thermal energy plants are a known and proven quantity which can only be placed near natural springs such as Yellowstone and the famous hot springs in Japan. But these can be built anywhere shale exists. And shale is everywhere. I have concerns, fracking the earth to create underground lakes is how sinkholes and balrogs are summoned. And it's still being tested in Nevada to see if its profitable. But if it works, we'll have another renewable resource that is independent of limited rare metals and location agnostic. Just a happy thought before heading off to the weekend.

And not at all because I had nothing really interesting to talk about for the comic.
