Added 2024-02-20 00:09:35 +0000 UTCInsight spells out what the problem is with becoming a hound. Without him, they'll burnout naturally, losing their entire ability to manipulate mana. It's a failsafe built in so that those like the Prisoner will not leave behind empowered super-beings. Also and possibly the true reason, this is one of the least expensive methods of creating super soldiers.
