Lore Entry: Hybrids

Hybrids! The world of Warden has a number of animal human hybrids living in the plains and savannahs. They are tribal in culture and often hire themselves out as mercenaries.

I believe this is the first time I've mentioned a hyperbaric mana chamber. These are a contained space where concentrations of high mana can be artificially infused into the atmosphere. From here spell formations can be created by hard light in sequence and intensity to create massive changes. Hyperbaric chambers exist for magical experimentation. The idea of course is based off of hyperbaric oxygen chambers in our modern world.

If you have any questions or suggestions on Hybrids - leave a comment and I'll answer them.

The next will be on changelings. You'll never even know they were here. Afterwards, last lore entry will be a preamble text - explaining what the purpose of these lore entries were for and a brief guide on how to read the power charts on each entry.

Tier Lists have been updated with the current pages of the comic. Lore updates can be found in the Mega links all sparrow rewards have.

good question. There are two alteration limits. The lower threshold is if you want to create a stable species and the second is one where it can survive on its own. I suppose there is a third if one doesn't care about whether the liver needs to be replaced every two weeks. Those thresholds are mutable depending on the skill of the gene-surgeon. Additional limbs, fur, and all of what you have described can create a stable species. A very skilled gene-surgeon with limitless resources can recreate a stable species variants of manticores, lamias, and more from humans. Once that is no longer a concern - you can alter a human into unique abominations and monsters or single purpose tools as other alien species do. Much of these changes are reversible. But doing so leaves scars and detriments, and require rare skills and heavy amounts of resources. Some areas simply will not be able to reverse it. And then with a post magical society - it may even be cheaper to kill the subject and place them within an artificial or cloned body.

How far can someone be modified? We're seeing ears and tails but could you give someone a snout? Full body fur? Entirely new limbs?

Belisaurius

It is illegal to do without consent. Paperwork has to be signed. So in a legal system, a rich person would obfuscate it enough to say his live in sex friends did it voluntarily. Wealthy families can uplift a person into literal immortality. Plenty would choose to become a hybrid sex slave for that alone As for a real slave owner, where slavery being illegal, they would be capable of anything.

Groz

Oh hah, I didn't even consider if it was a reference.

Because peen jokes are too good to pass up ...

Groz

So if these modifications are illegal, how likely is it someone who owns slaves (legal or otherwise) would modify them in this way? It’s a kinda vague question I know.

Michael Dukakis is an American politician. In the public release I will rewrite this line to say "known for MMF hybrid humiliation and taming genre."

Groz

Dukakis sounds familiar. Has that name come up before?
