As mentioned before, it's how they seamlessly are aware of the timing and what the general strategy will be. Here the hounds will pick up from Crusher that she is expecting them to push Aegis away from Clipper. Clipper is heavily wounded. After the hit in the air, there is a sense of anticipation of signal to start the hunt after seeing the dangerous prey off balance. [like wolves sensing a weakness in a large and irate moose]
Their emotive bond's dialog would become muted within Aegis' aura but that will be a difficult concept to get across within subtext. I don't think the communication decay is an important enough of a story element to focus on.

Oh. this is a great idea. I got another suggestion about an opacity shift. I'll try both of these out and experiment. Thanks!
