The Prisoner's mana floods down from the sky fueling her once again as he acts as a battery for the army he raises. And his mana quantity, like all Aristeans, is literally super-human, even for the advanced setting he comes from.
Another concept I wanted to get across is how the Hounds come back with a part of them missing after each death. In the next few pages, I wanted to show Clipper, the Hound who just died, to be more feral and less experientially whimsical. The regeneration of the Aristeans are not perfect. The dead brain cells return to life but not as as they once were. The quick combat ready healing takes its toll. Which is part of the reason the Prisoner did not want the Warden to take the easy way out. Sadly, I didn't want to slow down the pacing and add more pages to an already long chapter.
