It's always fun to draw the new costumes for the Owls and Ravens. The uniformity of the army would be a great way to hide in anonymity, but not for the Owls. The Owls can enchant their own gear and wear their adjustments proudly. This showcases their skills to Ravens and other members of the army who wish to purchase their upgrades AND it distinguishes them from others in case they want to build the reputation necessary to become a Custodian. The same applies for Ravens, although those are more likely to purchase than build their own gear.
What's really great about these guys, is that I won't have to draw them over and over again. So the designs can be outlandish. This is the exact reason why some protagonists in manga have so much worse than the big bad end guy. The main villain only shows up for far fewer pages.
