Aiiiggghh I couldn’t watch the cleaning solvents testing process with two people moving around the bottles and jars sitting on top of the painting. I so wanted to bring you a trolley on wheels. Of course this is me projecting my own clumsiness and anxiety, which is why I work with animals and not fine art. πŸ˜‚

Big question, for me at least. I was thinking about the next video and how long it might take to complete the retouching. Then I wondered if you or Kitt would be doing the retouch work. Then I wondered if perhaps you would both work on it together. Now the big question hit me. Every artist has a style. It stands to reason that even retouch artists have a style of their own, even though they are often working in small areas and may try to imitate to a degree the artist’s style of painting to better help the retouch blend with the original work. If two different people retouch the same painting, could there be a big enough difference in their styles that it could draw attention to the discrepancies? Is it standard procedure to only have one person do all the retouching on a painting to keep it consistent throughout? Are the methods used in retouching so established that two good retouch artists should be interchangeable?
