What Isyander doesn't mention is that in this Tau vs Ravenguard and White Scars battle, while there is also a regiment of Catachan jungle fighters and one whole lance of Imperial Knights, there's only about a company each of the space marines total. There's over a million Tau.

Rumors of intelligence agencies taking care of a pet for months before executing it as a form of training/ to show commitment predates kingsman which likely used this as inspiration. While the original agency that may or may not have done this has changed as rumors do with some citing intelligence agencies or special operations research, I can confirm the rumors exist far before that
