2025-02-27 20:22:42 +0000 UTCAs far as I'm aware humanity during the crusade still used the astronomicon for warp travel, it's just that the emperor being alive was just passively enough to keep it bright. During the dark age I think they got arround with navigators but the warp was less turbulent so it wasn't as risky (I'm less sure on that one tho)

The biological equivalent would be tying all the heart beats of a group together and having only one brain manage it. This frees up portions of the brain dedicated to running that process.

Companies gets more complicated, but for private citizens, you just get a notification that "Your annual tax calculation is up on the official website. Please log in and run through the numbers to make sure everything is correct (usually they don't get travel distance to work right), but most data is pulled from the bank and your employer, so that's just running automatically. And there is a small explainer textbox for every post. It works quite well.

It came, as I recall it, with the fall of the western Roman empire, while the Islamic Golden age was during the medieval time. I may be wrong though, but the dark ages is usually describing the gab between the Roman empire and Europe starting getting it's sh...tuff back together as the medieval kingdoms solidifies

And also see the parallel with the dark age of technology in 40k
