[Salvos] 673. Advancement (Removed for KU)

(Removed for KU)

Comments

Yea sure, coz we're definitely not getting jabaited right now or anything. Nope there's no way that she breaks out of the corruption influence right before choosing or anything right? No way, totally not, couldn't be.

Tragic Hysteria

I think that it was in character for her and her extreme pride. Think about it, a class that never existed before but was created as a result of her achievements. To her that is the world itself acknowledging her greatness. Her very identity is built around being different from everyone else and here is a class that proves it.

Kristeen Livesay

Honestly, I'm still having chills from this one. :(

Danijel Turina

I like the idea that, by creating skills and classes, she is essentially "teaching" the System how to work with the corruption.

Danijel Turina

Hyped for the next chapter and the skill upgrades!!!!

Roombot

Eh, yes but she has already been wielding corruption in a few different ways and it hasnt fundamentally changed her — she is still Salvos

Roombot

The goddess of corruption, presumably

Roombot

After all, the dragons fought the corruption and failed. But Salvos will CONTROL the corruption

Roombot

I love the idea that she will become the master of the corruption, able to control and wield it—and also halt it

Roombot

Not from a corruption-based class.

Alexey Gladkich

Yeah, unfortunately that sounds consistent with "I know you're waiting for Salvos, but in the meantime have 100 big chapters of Kara; oh sorry I have no energy for Salvos now, and don't you dare pressure me, I will do what I love and you don't matter".

Danijel Turina

I’m hoping salvos get a skill like divine energy manipulation

Sivart

Wooow! What a cool chapter! This new class opens up a lot of new possibilities that I think could make Salvos (her and the story) even more chaotic. I expected there to be a class that dealt with the corruption in some way but I did not expect her being essentially forced to choose only one option because everything else was corrupted! It would be funny to read maybe a chapter long side story of what would have happened if she chose one of the other two. I imagine she would, as somewhat implied, deal with great pain and probably just become a corrupt version of herself floating through the space between planes haha

Alder

It's a bit sad to see the Dragon Apprentice class go. I really like that class. Though it makes sense that Salvos forges her own path instead of following dragons

Nokra 123

A bit of a shame we didn't get to see the description and stats of other options. That damm corruption xD

Gonvas

If the corruption is sentient then this was deffinitly its best move. No way Salvos would not pick the truly unique class extra made for her

Angworu

The corruption is smart. It hid the details of the other options, showed this super powerful option and on top of the cake it says Salvos created the class. How could she resist? 😆

Gonvas

Next chapter Salvos dies, timeskip to show destruction of Nexeus and then Kara becomes main novel 🤣😜

Gonvas

We definitely need it soon. All previous speculations went right out the window.

Dragonmaster_42

I agree. Although Salvos is always on the edge of going off the rails with her pride and recklessness, so this is an opportunity for character development if she slams into a wall and learns to be a bit more cautious. Either Salvos is as good a matchup against Regnorex as I always thought or this is her last opportunity to break her nose and reconsider her approach.

Dragonmaster_42

Huh... Well, firstly I the formerly normal class options seemed to be lethally dangerous to Salvos if we go by what she considers at the end. Among the three choices, I think she picked the most fitting one. Although I would have expected Salvos to at least try and get another option. Salvos is proud. Would she stay an apprentice just with a more powerful master? ... That actually sounds in character. But why not try and draw a bit of the essence from the two other classes into the Corrupted Apprentice? There's the risk of damaging the class options but also the potential to become a Corrupted Adept or something like that. Although it is sometimes implied that Salvos thinks a lot more about what she does than she appears to, so taking the class might be a (obviously) risky but somewhat calculated gamble with (obviously) great potential reward where "it'll be fine" actually mean "I know this is do-or-die deep shit territory but also the only real way forward". Which, given her opponents is true. So overall I think it was actually the best choice even if I wish it would have been explored a bit more. Seems like cliff diving, looks ridiculous from one angle but might actually be the safest way down. (If you are better at diving than climbing)

Dragonmaster_42

I think the first two options were completely corrupted and would have destroyed her had she chosen them. The third option is the continuation of her current "riding the tiger" by using corruption as a weapon and a shield, but, as the option itself says, there's no way back from that, so she's either going to die, or she's going to invent a grand skill for restoring corruption in order to heal herself, and thus invent the "vaccine" for Nexeus. Basically, all other options were already tried; divinity is too weak, creating a new plane fails more often than not and creates even worse corruption, basically the only way seems to be to truly understand corruption and change it from within, not just whack it with a bigger stick.

Danijel Turina

I think getting a corruption class that she can control instead of being controlled by it is great. It's just the attitude of Salvos that felt out of character even for Salvos in my opinion. And the aspect of it being a new thing just for her didn't have enough of a focus in the chapter I think. In the end, it felt like Salvos just didn't have another option and just went "Welp, why not? tehe!" instead of Salvos being written in a way that felt like she came to term with that decision and the focus being about her being proud of it being for her and a greater expression of herself In short, the idea was good, the execution was bad This is my honest constructive criticism.

Sancturillore -- Élie Simard-Wallot

I wonder if the corruption is sentient, it seems intentional that the other options are blocked. Compared to the Angelic Devil Princess evo. which imposed a challenge to be conquered, this power wants to conquer her. Nice parallel.

Tim

I think that maybe something along the lines of her deciding that even if it comes to the worst, she'll still be Salvos would have fitted her character better than "what's the worst that could happen?" That would've been more in line with pride and with her character in my opinion. Her "being decisive even in the face of the risk and being confident in still being Salvos afterward, in being even more Salvos even" as the focus would've been better than "what's the worst that could happen, tehe", which is just dismissive idiocy.

Sancturillore -- Élie Simard-Wallot

A [C-̴̨̯͍̜̘̼̣̯͚̘̹̪̘͙͌̾͆̚͝rr-̴̨̯͍̜̘̼̣̯͚̘̹̪̘͙͌̾͆̚͝pt-̴̨̯͍̜̘̼̣̯͚̘̹̪̘͙͌̾͆̚͝d Appr-̴̨̯͍̜̘̼̣̯͚̘̹̪̘͙͌̾͆̚͝nt-̴̨̯͍̜̘̼̣̯͚̘̹̪̘͙͌̾͆̚͝c-̴̨̯͍̜̘̼̣̯͚̘̹̪̘͙͌̾͆̚͝] is a hitherto Class that has never existed before in the history of the Nexeus. -> is a Class that has hitherto never existed in the history...

Danijel Turina

The forerunner class was explicitly stated to have belonged to the fairy queen before

MelasD

This was one of the worst chapters in a while. Her reasoning for picking that class was completely shit. Not only that but she wanted a never before seen class well congratulations so was the forerunner class. I know plot armor will magically make it the right choice but she seemed dumber than usual with her logic this chapter.

Scholar of Endless Knowledge

Salvos when it comes to pride is like that. Has been like that. She attacked Sal and almost got herself killed because her pride was hurt. She is proud that she essentially created the class, it makes sense to me.

Azrie

She is about to befriend a Voidspace

Azrie

Except she wanted the class. Plus she basically created it, it's literally the most Salvos thing ever. And she is completely fine with having corrupted skills so she doesn't really have a prejudice against it. I don't see why she should hesitate.

Azrie

Thanks for the chapter!

Wensber

I think Salvos should have checked out the titles first. Maybe they would negate the effects of the corrupted classes allowing here to make a proper choice!

LapisLazuli

I don't like this development. She didn't even try to get a new option like for her subspecies advancement. And it felt like her reasoning was stupid. Far more than normal. Could have been written better than just going "what's the worst that could happen, tehe". There wasn't even a feeling of resignation at not getting another choice.

Sancturillore -- Élie Simard-Wallot

Even worse is the question "what's the worst that can happen"? You don't want to know.

Danijel Turina

Excited for the next chapter

Den

But she did level corruption resistance and has corruption manipulation so there’s a good chance the class doesn’t affect her as much as people are assuming. She seems to be bypassing the normal rules on corruption.

Derek Walker

Being ignored by other corrupion might mean you are one of them. But Salvos is changeling at heart too, one that fits and infiltrates any environment. Also literary stopped everything I have been doing to read it.

Użytkownik Przeciętny

This is basically the worst-case scenario; I expected one of the advancements to be corrupted, but all three? It's a disaster. I expect the only way out for her to be death when fighting Regnorex, and then "reincarnation" into that clone that got stuck in the mortal realm, probably resetting her levels and advancements to 150. However, there's one more way forward, because if she learns how to un-corrupt herself, she will automatically gain the required skills for un-corrupting others, like the Hydra or the world.

Danijel Turina

Further speculation, but I think it’s been mentioned several times there’s a level cap at level 250. Maybe combining both divinity and corruption will allow her to break it

Derek Walker

She’ll now have the raw stats of someone basically at level 200 who hasn’t gone through the next evolution yet.

Derek Walker

Salvos is about to befriend a Voidspace after all of this is over. Corrupted Salvos is still Salvos after all. Excited to see what this class can do!

Azrie

- What could possibly go wrong? EVERYTHING! The answer to this question is always "everything"! It's why the question exists in the first place

Klauth

Yea what's the worst that can happen salvos, totally go for it nothing could possibly go wrong. Tho tbf these corruption powers are pretty sweet

Greenapple247

It almost seemed like there was some mental compulsion going on when Salvos selected the advancement option.

Chase C

So at long last the side effects of accepting a corrupted Title finally rears its ugly head, nice. I was waiting for the other shoe to drop since she accepted being corrupted. That's an absurd amount of power in a class, and I honestly can't wait to see what kind of eldritch horror Salvos is going to morph herself into at level 200.

Ihaxlikenoob

That sound really stupid and dangerous even Salvos

Plateworm

Thanks for the chapter
