I was trying to look at things from the other perspective as well; Salvos obviously doesn't consult with them, she just leaves, does her own thing, returns with something shocking they don't even understand properly, like the death eaters, corruption or making a deal with Hartia. She does the same with her human companions, but they know her well enough to just accept it. Haec, on the other hand, doesn't know her, almost at all. He doesn't know anything about the experiences in the Mortal Realm that shaped her, and he has only a very vague idea of what she can do. Her actions are quite logical and reasonable, but to someone who doesn't know her or doesn't work with things on her level, she looks as weirdly unpredictable as the Devil.

2024-05-10 08:28:16 +0000 UTCThe next encounter for Salvos and co. should be somehow different, how to avoid cliche?

2024-05-08 16:01:27 +0000 UTCAbsolutely. I just wish those excuses also held for Haec, but after the sparring match, he should know better than to look down on Salvos.

2024-05-08 16:00:12 +0000 UTCSalvos is definitely too nice and those demons simply don't have life experience that would guide them in interactions with someone like that. In their experience, only the weak need to be conciliatory and nice in order to survive, and the strong ones are a commanding presence that requires unquestioning obedience. Salvos has been treating them all as equals, only once forcing things upon them (when she used them as bait), and she's been pretty insecure and defensive about her corruption skills, with good reason, because she is uncertain what will come from that eventually. Regnorex and his lieutenants, on the other hand, act with complete certainty and confidence even when they are completely wrong and ignorant and in face of defeat, and this is the standard of behaviour those demons are expecting. They forgot that Salvos was actually the commanding presence that healed the Devil's soul that was broken for 50000 years, which makes her probably the most powerful Soul Mage in all of Nexeus' history, basically she argued with and countered one of the most powerful beings of that universe in real time, when they were so scared of him they'd shit bricks if they had assholes. :) But since she's confident enough to display her doubts and insecurities openly and not fake a confident front at all times, they are starting to act in ways that are actually disrespectful. I actually think that the ones who found themselves at the receiving end of her power, like Basil and the two deathsquadders, will act much more appropriately with her, because they got the taste of cold steel beneath all that fluffy velvet.

2024-05-08 08:25:23 +0000 UTCOr Hartia can just teach her how to do it. After all, he no longer has a reason not to, since he's done with Regnorex, and as far as space magic goes, he has more experience with various applications since he's been doing it for much longer, but she's at least as powerful, probably more, and proved that she can replicate his stuff instantly, she just needs to be given ideas and examples.

2024-05-08 08:06:19 +0000 UTCI rather think Salvos is in a bit of a hurry to leave the Nether Parts... erm... of the Nexeus. That said, can't say that I have ever heard rumors of trusting Fae being significantly worse than trusting demons?

2024-05-08 02:40:54 +0000 UTCI’m gonna make a prediction, haec is gonna get a early class advancement something like “demonic hero of advent” after they’ve rescued 1 or 2 more legions

2024-05-07 21:24:21 +0000 UTCWell, we haven't seen the final decision yet, they may go through several more iterations.

2024-05-07 20:58:41 +0000 UTCI believe Haec would have a different stance if it was just him with the collar. But he's representing the 3rd legion. No way the 3rd legion would believe Hartia's change of heart. 3rd legion trusts Haec but Salvos is a stranger to them. Some may be willing to trust their lives if Haec tells them to trust Salvos. But I think most wouldn't trust their lives. And with just a short exchange, the group managed to reach a halfway measure that gives the same result without risking everyone at once. Although 10 at a time seems quite few xD

2024-05-07 19:19:31 +0000 UTCI see your point and I think after a few more life or death struggles, that's what it's going to be. David, Edith and Saffron also had to warm up to Salvos. Her current power needs to settle into the minds of Haec and Taburas a bit more. I'm sure there is also a way to defend against [Truth Divination] and Hartia's subspecies might have that in its repertoire, even if I don't think he has it.

2024-05-07 19:13:50 +0000 UTCWasn't there an instance where she looked a few seconds into the future?

2024-05-07 19:06:04 +0000 UTCHaec and Taburas are getting on my nerves with their brainless shit. I mean, they were there when she held the Devil himself in her [Truth Divination], and here they are, questioning whether she got it right. Also, so much for being a companion - if she looked Daniel in the eyes and asked "do you trust me?", he would quietly whisper "yes", meaning, "I will follow you to death if need be". I'm scared for her, with company like this. She's basically been following Haec along since they met, there's no plan, there's no coherent path to victory, it's all too rushed, he's trying to do everything at once, there's no cunning involved, just brute force, and he's going to get her killed.
