you guys should really consider watching blank next -- the woman who created skam's friend created blank and it's the same exact format/premise of skam only about 20 somethings/college age kids in norway. it didn't get AS much love but it's an underrated/hidden gem in my opinion!!!

It wasn't groundbreaking in the form of showing gay teenagers in media, but it was definitely part of a second wave gay media where no-one is confused about what it means to be gay, but it still shows the struggles of not-yet-out gay kids in a world where no-one seemingly cares about people being gay. Other movies in this wave would be Love, Simon (2018) from the US, and Jongens (2014) from the Netherlands.

“What could happen in a minute, 47 seconds?” Never gets old, that, um, baptism scene. I burst out laughing the first time I saw that. Just needs a PG-13 rating.😇 I never saw this trailer until after I had first watched Season 3. Was still a shock. I’m one of the folks who saw Season 3 first — after several other gay friends told me I needed to watch it. (Then I quickly watched all the other seasons, of course.) Poor Isak. “What’s so strange about me? Can’t I be loved?” And, yeah, being a gay kid in the boys’ locker room in high school was a challenge.🫣 It’s funny to see Magnus in little snippets of Seasons 1 & 2 and in those bloopers. Bradley & Adam, you’ll know who that is really soon.

I really respect how they established from the beginning that they weren't gonna sanitize the gay storyline to make it more palatable to straight viewers. AHHHHH I absolutely can't wait for your episode 1 reaction!!! You guys, get ready for Tarjei to act his fucking ass off this season 😭 He really takes his performance of Isak to a different level here and it's soooo incredibly good!
