Sarah probably forced him to let her testify at this motions hearing, and it's clear to everyone but her that she shot herself in the foot.

Seriously, google it, "great penmanship", as she likes to emphasize. A lawyer replied and the court was like okay fuck it, one last time then. However, that was mere weeks ago and the court made a point of not delaying or postponing anything, so he got the same time to prep as Sarah would have had if she had needed to go pro se.

She continually covered her mouth while speaking to detectives (to cover the smell of alcohol?) and she was very thirsty. Dry mouth is consistent with hangovers and drinking.
