My Villain Isekai 1 (MHA)

Over the screeching tires of the truck, Koku Hanabata could hear the villain talking down to their Grand Commander. “Go faster!” He shouted to the driver, the man pressing harder on the gas to drive them to the edge of the massive crater Tomura Shigaraki had made.
“That guy really likes the sound of his own voice, doesn’t he?” The girl in the bed of the pickup truck beside him said, more rhetorically than a real question. Shisaki Yotsubashi. Always been a thorn in my side. If it wasn’t for our Grand Commander, I wouldn’t have tolerated her and her sly, subtle jabs at our ideology, her lack of commitment to the cause.
Hanabata honestly wasn’t sure she’d even be here today, for their Revival Ceremony despite how much it meant to Re-Destro. The girl had faintly blue skin, with brown hair she kept deliberately flat. A number of different metal piercings were on her face, her nose and ears mostly, though Hanabata knew she had one in her tongue and belly button as well.
She wore a punk rock jacket with the sleeves torn off, a white tank top underneath. Her skirt was black, knee length, with heavy duty combat boots rising up and revealing relatively little flesh between the two, especially with the metal bands around her legs and toned arms. A number of knife holsters were strapped onto her body as well.
More eye-catching than what she was wearing was what she was carrying. It was a tarp wrapped up, about as large as she was, with- Is that a body!? Hanabata was no stranger to violence; you didn’t become a lieutenant of the Meta Liberation Army without that, and they were in the middle of a warzone. Still odd that she’s carrying it with her.
“Who is that?” ‘And why are you bringing it with us,’ went unsaid but heavily implied.
“Curious.”
“Yes, that’s why I aske- oh. Oh god, I hadn’t realized-” She must have gotten the body out of there before it was all turned to dust. Hanabata didn’t have time to focus on that further as they reached the edge, the dust cleared enough to see Shigaraki limping towards Re-Destro, the latter fallen down on the ground, his armor destroyed.
“What are you waiting for?! Go save our glorious leader!” Hanabata put on his best ‘Trumpet’ voice, shouting and pointing at Shigaraki. However, for some reason, his power failed.
Re-Destro admitted that, “Any more fighting… would be pointless.” That was enough to get everyone else to freeze in place, but not Shisaki. Mostly in her case because she’d already begun leaping through the air, practically floating before suddenly dropping down beside him.
“Shisaki, you came… Do not fret over my sake. I am prepared to face my fate. He can destroy me if he must; I picked a fight, and I lost. Everyone here is prepared to give their lives in-”
“Don’t lump us all in your boat, you worthless old fool.” Her sharp words cut through the grand Commander’s speech, causing him to snap his head up and look shocked at Shisaki.
“What? I know this must seem strange to you, but that man,” Re-Destro declared, gesturing at Shigaraki, who stood there, looking confused at the situation. “He is the man who embodies freedom, embodies Destro’s will more than any of us! So of course he should lead the Meta Liberation Army! I am unworthy.”
“Well, I suppose I can’t argue that you’re unworthy, Rikiya Yotsubashi. Losing is one thing, but to give up to the enemy? To the man who stands as the successor for All for One, the man who stole Quirks from the righteous? How dare you.” Whispers of doubt spread through the crowd. Re-Destro has the charisma, he is the one we’ve been drawn to, but her words are logical.
He opened his mouth to speak, but was brutally cut off by Shisaki, swinging her arm at him. It swelled up in size, not as greatly as Re-Destro’s could at maximum strength, but still with enough strength to smash through his head, pulverizing the Grand Commander’s head.
Hanabata could only stand there, stunned as he tried to process it all. How could she kill her own father- why-? While he did that, he watched as she turned to Shigaraki, who while still heavily injured raised his arms, sensing a fight.
“If you think-” He began, before she moved. In the blink of an eye, Shisaki was off to the side, a few meters past and away from Shigaraki, her knife flying harmlessly through the air until the obsidian blade hit the ground and shattered. The villain finished swinging his arm out in front before stopping.
“You’re fast,” Hanabata heard the girl say. “I had to throw my knife and dodge despite how quickly I went. Not that it really matters,” she added as Shigaraki’s head toppled off of his neck, the body following suit and collapsing to the ground. The knife had clearly not missed its mark.
“He’s- he’s dead! She killed him!” Cries like that went up all around, overflowing with relief, with joy. Ignoring how she just before that opposed and murdered our Grand Commander! Hanabata trembled with rage and despair, trying to think of what to do next, but he wasn’t a planner. He could make people listen to him, give them a catchy message, but strategizing wasn’t his specialty.
Across the crater he scanned for Skeptic but couldn’t find the man, his eyes instead drawn back to Shisaki, who was speaking up again. “Shigaraki Tomura, the successor of All for One is dead, and with him, the end of our quarrel with the League of Villains!” She boldly declared, holding a hand up in the air.
A stunned silence, the moment of truth. Do they listen to her or fall into confusion and chaos? Hanabata had seen this play out hundreds of times before, and realized he could place his hands on the levers to sway the opinion of the Metahuman Liberation Army; and he had to.
“She speaks the truth! We have our new leader, and our justice! This is the dawn of a new era for the Metahuman Liberation Army!” Uproarious cheering followed Hanabata’s words, even as he felt sick to the stomach for saying them. This was Re-Destro’s plan. Despite his change of heart at the last minute, using Shigaraki’s death to enflame the nation with our spirit was always the plan. If she can truly carry it out… then I will accept her as our leader.
Questions still arose, notably from Twice, who loudly aired an issue still hanging in the air. “Hey, does that mean you’re cool with the rest of us Leaguers now? Cause I’d really like that. I don’t give a damn, I’ll fight you all!”
The crowd paused, either at his words or at Shisaki, jumping up and drifting through the air once again. How can she do that? Her strength and speed I’d heard could be surprising, but that floaty power… I never heard anything like that about what she could do, it’s nothing like her parent’s powers. Then again, he’d heard little about her Quirk or the girl in general, often just seen as embarrassment if she was brought up at all.
Shisaki landed down in front of the Twice clones holding an injured Toga and a clone of her. Speaking loudly, the gathered army mostly silent and waiting on her words, they could all hear the young woman.
“Shigaraki stood for nothing, only destruction. But from everything I can tell of the rest of you League of Villains… you wish to live in peace, but the world won’t let you. I will tear down that world, and more than that, I will build a new one! A world of peace and prosperity! Where you can live your lives as you desire, uninhibited by the chains of current society!”
More cheers rose up, and she waited for them to die down before continuing. “However, you’ve seen too much of our organization for us to just let you go.” Tension filled the air once more. “Join us, and we will help you. Refuse, and be destroyed.” It seems odd, to talk to Twice on behalf of the group and all their members scattered here. Gin Bubigawa has no leadership skills. He is strong, however. With his Quirk Awakening, he might be stronger than all the rest combined, so in that sense, where he goes, the other villains will be forced to follow.
“No way in hell! Will you help her?” Twice said rapid-fire, but by his actions he demonstrated the truth, tentatively holding Toga’s bodies towards her.
“Of course,” she said gently, Hanabata’s ears straining to catch her words. “My father, Re-Destro, discarded too many of our people carelessly for this, but I’ll look after you. We have healers on hand to help you.”
“...We’ll join.” Twice said, and Shisaki clapped her hands together eagerly.
“Excellent! Get our new comrades healers, stat!” The Meta Liberation Army began moving around quickly to help the remnants of the League of Villains. It was an awkward process, with people doing things like shaking Spinner’s hands or trying to talk to Dabi. All of that was interrupted by Gigantomachia leaping over to where Shisaki stood, the girl having to move quickly to push others out of the way so the giant of a man did not crush them beneath him.
“Is that true? Did you kill Shigaraki… because he was All for One’s successor?” The beast demanded.
“What? Why aren’t you happy with this - you hated Shigaraki! I was never a fan myself,” Twice asked Gigantomachia.
“I felt him, unworthy. But he was still… master’s chosen. If she killed him because of that…” the threat was clear. Shisaki stiffened, and Hanabata caught her glancing over at Twice, as if weighing things out. Then she punched Gigantomachia hard, her arm swelling up dramatically as she punched him down into the crater.
What? This girl always ran away from fights in the past, never using her Quirk whenever any of the other kids in Deika attempted to bully her. Why is she fighting now? And fight she did, jumping down after him and hitting him hard into the dirt, cratering the ground further.
“Everyone, back up! Stay away from there!” Hanabata warned the army, evacuating them away from the two immensely powerful beings duking it out. I need to support her… but only so long as she lives. If she dies here, myself or Skeptic will take over. Geren was powerful, but he didn’t have the people skills to lead and Curious… he glanced down at the tarp lying beside him.
Not for long though, his attention was drawn back by the massive shockwaves erupting with each blow from the fighters in the pit. Unable to hold back his curiosity, he strode back over, after making sure everyone else was a fair distance away.
Within the unnatural bowl of the earth, shockwaves rang out from each shot. The giant’s were too be expected from. He was a beast that had torn through the elite fighters of the MLA like they were paper mache. But Shisaki matching him - no surpassing the monster felt unreal.
Her legs and arms had expanded to massive extents, to the point where her skin had peeled off in places, looking almost like that villain, Muscular. Even more surprising was her speed. He hadn’t closed his eyes from shock at Re-Destro’s death before, he just wasn’t able to keep up with how fast she was moving, only able to track her by seeing and feeling the shockwaves afterwards, as they rippled out from each blow.
The monster thrashed about, crashing and flailing, but failing to hit her. His own errant blows broke the ground even further, and as she hit him, it knocked him down further, making the hole in the ground even larger. Eventually, he got lucky, catching her in his grip, holding Shisaki in place long enough for Hanabata to get a good look at her.
She punched back hard, brutally wailing into the giant gripping her, but despite breaking his nose, ribs, and arm, he refused to let go. The return shots hit Shisaki hard, heavy impacts left her coughing up blood until he thrashed her body around like a ragdoll.
The final blow came with a loud ‘snap,’ and as he tossed her body up high into the air, Hanabata saw that the strike had broken her neck. Damn, it looks like we’ll have to deal with that monster. Hopefully she’s weakened him enough for us to- huh? Somehow, miraculously, her neck ‘unsnapped’ mid air, and she turned to glare at the foe below her.
The monster only looked up at the last moment before she hit, with a blow unlike any other. Her diving haymaker drove the giant deep beneath the earth, sinking well out of sight and shaking the whole town. Hanabata himself tumbled over the edge, rolling to a stop in front of her.
“Di-did you do it? Is he dead?” He asked with a shaky voice. Shisaki paused, turning to glance at him, and for an instant, he wondered if she would kill him too. For disloyal thoughts, for not helping her here, because she felt like it. He didn’t know, couldn’t figure out how to convince her… but he didn’t need to.
Her muscles deflated, her skin growing back over top. “Yeah, he’s dead. Two minutes was what it took, huh? Too much.” Is she reprimanding herself for not being strong enough? I see now. Every time I saw that little child looking down her long nose at us, seeing our grand organization as ‘pathetic,’ it was because she placed such a higher standard upon herself. If she could defeat that creature in two minutes, land blows that All Might would have trouble with in his prime… then she is the one who can lead us to the future!
“Lady Destro-”
“-Please don’t call me that-”
“I pledge myself to you! You are the chosen leader of the Metahuman Liberation Army! Our time is finally at hand! Thank you, thank you!”
“Yeah yeah,” she said with a sigh, closing her eyes, deep in thought for half a second. “Alright, let’s organize our people, I’ve got some plans to capitalize on all of this. Let’s make the future, however odd it might be” she said. With that enigmatic phrase, she held a hand out to Hanabata, lifting him up to his feet.
A/N: You might be wondering about the name of the title, since there is clearly some further backstory going on here not touched on, but that’s because this episode of the anime is called Tomura Shigaraki: Origin.
Anyways, here’s my take at a villainous isekai. There’s not a lot of them out there, but I feel like My Hero Academia is a setting with enough rot beneath the surface for a Self Insert to be willing to join the villains, given the right conditions… and the right villains.
As shown here, Shisaki doesn’t actually agree with a lot of what the MLA agrees with, particularly finding fault with those who focus more on a powerful Quirk being everything like Trumpet, when he mocks Spinner. Still, they’re an interesting faction, and with such a large group, I could easily see them being used as a more main villain than what we got with All for One (though the doctor and some of his minions are still around, as well as the movie villains, which could lead to some villain vs. villain battles, and even enemy mine type situations).
Shisaki is an OC self insert based on the idea of a kid between Re-Destro and Curious, but with an original power power is far less OP than it might seem here. It’s basically Feruchemy from the Mistborn series. She can store attributes within different metals she’s in contact with, and then draw them out later. So if she’s at half strength for thirty minutes, she can be at 150% strength for thirty minutes after. She could also ‘compress’ the Attributes stored to get greater bursts for a shorter period of time, which is how she was able to beat Gigantomachia there.
There’s not really a limit to how much an attribute can be compressed, but the more it’s compressed the less time she gets. So Shisaki has a very hard limit on how much power she can use overall, which is why she uses a big flashy show here, to gain awe and support from the MLA so she can use them for less important battles and conserve attributes.
It’s a kind of interesting power for My Hero Academia verse, where the drawback/strain comes before it’s used, not after. The different metals working with different attributes fits with some of who Quirks work, like how it was mentioned the different blends of tea could give the IQ girl from the provisional license exam slightly different effects on her IQ boost. It’s a fun powerset in general, and I think it and Allomancy (the other main magic system from Mistborn) could both fit well in MHA power-wise, though that one allows for longer duration but less spikes in power, so probably better for a hero Self Insert. My other idea would be a Self Insert as Dark Shadow, Tokiyama’s sentient Quirk, which feels like it would be interesting. What do you think of all of that?

Thanks, glad you like it. I'm definitely thinking that this will be my next story to start, but it'll be a bit until I have enough to start posting.
