My Villain Isekai 2 (MHA)

“Whuh… where am I?” Himiko Toga said sleepily, her eyelids fluttering as she woke up. Everything around her was still a little hazy, but she could see a dark shape hovering over her and… waving its arms excitedly.
“Stop being so noisy, Twice,” Himiko groaned. The young villainess tried to bury herself deeper in the covers, but she found them pretty thin. Usually I nab warmer sheets, and no one in the League cares enough to risk a few stabs to grab the heaviest blankets we can scrounge. Blinking her eyes open fully, she sees that she’s in a medical room.
She’s sitting on a bed with white sheets and hooked up to an IV drip and medical monitor. Taking quick stock of herself she can see that her injuries have been bandaged up. Around her were beige walls and an open window, with the sounds of cheering and jubilant conversation barely drifting in. It was otherwise fairly small, with a couple of empty chairs with one other occupant, and a television hanging in the corner. And of course, Gin was there, wearing his black bodysuit but with his mask off, the man crying happy tears. With how woozy I feel, they must have me on some painkillers too.
“Gin, where are we?” Toga asked carefully, trying to focus past whatever she’d been drugged with. This place is too regular, too normal for people like us to be in. We need to hide, get somewhere safe where the police won’t get us. She didn’t blame her comrade for getting her out of there, was glad he had saved her, but she knew that they’d soon be caught if they stuck around.
“We’re in the Meta Liberation Army hospital, they fixed you up good! I don’t trust these doctor types,” he said, giving her a big thumbs up and earning a disgruntled sigh from the doctor as they walked into the room, drawn in by the commotion. She was an unremarkably looking lady with black hair tied up in a bun who squeezed past Twice to glance at her monitor.
“It looks like you’re stable, Miss Toga,” the doctor began, and Himiko flinched. ‘Miss Toga’ was her mother and not someone she wanted to think about right now. Or ever. The doctor continued, mistaking the discomfort for physical, not emotional pain. “You’ll need to take it easy for a few weeks. Our healers aren’t on the level of someone like Recovery Girl, and you took quite the beating. Still, if you don’t agitate your wounds, you should be back to light activity in a week and full activity by the end of the month.”
With her diagnosis given, the doctor quickly left. If we’re still in Deika City, then they probably have a lot of people to look after. But why patch me up when we were just fighting?
“Because we’re all friends now,” a voice beside Himiko said, and the girl startled, flinching back and scrambling for a knife. Even Gin jumped back, suddenly locking in on the girl who had spoken up.
“Geez, give a guy a bit of warning, will ya? Wasn’t scared a bit!” As Gin talked, Toga took in the girl sitting nearby her. She had a punk fashion to her, with blueish skin and felt familiar in a way Toga couldn’t quite place.
Not a fan of people being stealthier than me. Himiko was considered to be a natural at stealth, and she had honed her skills, hunting down cuties, but even she would have problems hiding the way that this girl had. It’s not like I didn’t see her even, I just… couldn’t seem to connect the girl sitting in my room as someone to be wary of. It was like she matched her presence to the same wavelength as the tv or chairs, background noise for my senses.
“What are you talking about?” Toga asked, her hands itching to grab something sharp. Something the punk girl clearly noticed, pulling one of Toga’s box cutters out of her pockets and tossing it to Toga.
The mystery girl responded. “Well, it seemed like you were wondering why you were getting help, which, fair, you fighting the MLA last you remembered. But we made up and are all friends now!” She clapped her hands together and tilted her head to the side with a smile on her face that didn’t reach her cold, green eyes.
Himiko shivered at the similarity. She looks like me, when I was trying to fit in. To be normal. But it’s like she gave up ninety percent of the way through the act.
Twice took the opportunity to explain a bit more. “Lady Destro here defeated Re-Destro and now she runs the MLA! She invited us all to join them and she’d take care of us, like healing you.”
“We’re joining up with another villain group? Shiggy will be pissed; he hates it when people try to use our clout.”
“My name is Shisaki, not Lady Destro. Hmm, and speaking of which, I think the MLA needs a rebrand before we go public too. Maybe Metahuman Liberation Front? Don’t want to toss aside the legacy of our group, but we’ll need something a bit less actively warlike. Oh, and Shigaraki is dead, so I don’t believe we need to worry about what he thought,” Shisaki remarked offhandedly.
“How?” Toga demanded.
“Because I killed him.” She explained matter-of-factly. Himiko gripped her knife tight and lunged at the woman- only to flop around on the bed and nearly impale herself if it wasn’t for Shisaki moving in to prop her up. “Easy there.”
“Why are we working with her if she killed Shiggy?” Himiko demanded, and Gin had an uncomfortable look on his face.
“She killed Re-Destro, Shigaraki, and Gigantomachia. All by herself.” Toga’s eyes tracked back to the punk girl, standing there with a small smile on her face. She’s got some decent muscles on her and looks fit, but not like, All Might levels. She must have a heck of a Quirk. “She also said she’d help all of the rest of us if we joined. And that she’d kill us if we didn’t!” Gin added in his usual double-speak fashion.
“I’m surprised you’re so defensive of Shigaraki,” the dangerous girl drawled. “Didn’t you try to kill him yourself?”
Toga blinked. “How did you know about that?” It was only Dabi, Kurogiri, myself and Shiggy in that bar, and I doubt Dabi or Kurogiri chatted with this girl about that. There was a flicker of embarrassment on Shisaki’s face, as if she’d been caught saying something she shouldn’t have, but it smoothed out so quickly Toga wasn’t sure if she had really seen it at all.
“Lucky guess, though I suppose not that lucky, considering his attitude and your aggression.” There was a sly smirk on her face, as if daring Himiko to argue that point. Before her foggy mind could come up with a good counter, Shisaki turned to Gin. “Mind leaving us for a moment?”
“No way! I’m not leaving Toga’s side for a second! I’m worried you’ll kill each other,” he responded and Shisaki laughed brightly.
“I’m not quite so easy to kill as that, and I didn’t see Himiko patched up just to get her hurt. She’ll be fine, I promise. Just a bit of girl talk,” she tacked on at the end when Gin still appeared hesitant.
“I’ll leave you to it! Gonna be right outside counting the seconds. If you aren’t done in five minutes I’m breaking the door down!” He told the new leader of the MLA quickly before rushing out.
Rather than rush into anything, Shisaki actually walked away from Toga first, closing the window shut. “Can’t tell who could be eavesdropping with any manner of tech and Quirks these days,” she explained before walking back to Toga’s bedside.
“Sucks, feeling powerless, doesn’t it?” Shisaki mentioned rhetorically, the first sign of real emotion on her face.
“What do you know of that?” This girl looks like she’s perfectly fine and fought three massively powerful villains.
“More than you’d think. But enough about that,” she abruptly changed the conversation. “To state things clearly, the League of Villains is no more, and I want you to be fully assimilated into our organization.”
“Hard pass.”
“You didn’t even let me get to what I’m offering you,” Shisaki sighed.
“Did you offer Shiggy the same thing?”
“No, him I killed on the spot,” Shisaki replied bluntly. “Too much ego for a guy like him to ever consider working with us. But for the rest of you? Most of you Leaguers just want a place to fit in within the world, and that’s something we can work with. It’s what the MLA desires as well. To change the world so that we can live the lives we want.”
“Shiggy was going to do that too,” Toga pouted, and a harsh look came across the Shisaki’s face.
“I’ve got a crater in the middle of Deika that says otherwise. No, Tomura Shigaraki only sought to destroy things. While some destruction is necessary for new growth, I’m more focused on making that end goal a reality. Which is why I want you to work with me.”
“... What do you want?” Toga bit out after a minute. Not happy about this, but Shigaraki kinda… didn’t have any plans. Not before Overhaul or even after. His ‘Sensei’ left a trail of crumbs to the Doctor, which had us in the middle of the wilderness for weeks. We fought Gigantomachia but we weren’t getting anywhere with the big guy until Giran was held hostage.
“While Curious’ tactics might not have been the greatest, her idea about running an expose on your past has some merit. We need to win over the public more, and I think you’ll find more people sympathetic to your plight than you realize.”
“Won’t they just think I’m based?”
“I-” Shisaki paused. “I think you meant ‘biased,’ but there is that risk, if you were publishing as yourself. However,” the blue girl pulled out a jar of delicious red liquid and placed it on Toga’s bedside table. “If Chitose Kizuki - Curious’ real name, by the way - were to publish it through Shoowaysa Publishing, well those names carry a great deal of weight to them. The public might see it more objectively under those conditions. Plus, it gets to fulfill Chitose’s dying wish, which is nice too.”
Toga stuck her tongue out. “I don’t want to be that old hag! I only want to transform into a cutie.” That earned a mild glare from the slightly older girl.
“Don’t call my mother a hag.” I knew Shisaki looked familiar! Wow, I killed her mom and she’s… barely reacting? It was weird, the girl seemed more upset about the impoliteness Himiko showed than the murder.
It prompted the shapeshifter to ask, “Aren’t you mad that I killed your mother?”
Shisaki’s lips twitched, the only sign of emotion on her blank face. “Would you be mad if I killed your mother? Not everyone in this world has great relationships with their parents.” After a deep breath, she added, “I didn’t hate her. Chitose wasn’t a bad woman, she kept me fed and clothed. But she always saw in me a connection to my father that was less real than she hoped. That and her focus on her career and the movement left us little time to bond”
Shaking away her wistfulness, Shisaki also pointed out, “Besides, she started the fight with you. There are many people here who believe that the stronger you are, the more value you have.” Seems to be the MLAs whole deal, but she isn’t saying she believes in it. “And despite her reckless, wasteful tactics, she still failed to kill you. If she had focused more on her Quirk and could make explosions closer in strength to that kid from 1-A,” she snapped her fingers, as if searching for the name.
“Katsuki Bakugo.” Shiggy had us study all of the students from that class, and I particularly remember that loud blond boy since we captured him for a few days.
“No, It’s Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight, but you were close,” Shisaki corrected. Is she pranking me? But she’s keeping such a straight face, I can’t tell!
“Anywho, if she had a more powerful Quirk, she would have won that fight. So by her own logic, I shouldn’t be too upset about her dying to you.” Then Shisaki frowned. “I am upset about how much effort it took to get that blood. She was leaking it all over the place, and my clothing certainly got stained enough from hauling her body around, but a single jar is all we could get? Ah well, it should fit our purposes. Plenty there for your report on ‘the tragic life of Toga Himiko,’ plus plenty to use her Quirk and plant unobtrusive bombs.”
“I can only copy the Quirks of people I’m close to,” Toga pointed out. And maybe I won’t call her a hag anymore, but I’m definitely not close to that woman. Not cute at all!
“Hmm, well, keep working on it. You only just awakened your Quirk, it could still grow with time. Keep me informed of your progress. If it doesn’t work, let me know, and I’ll adjust our plans accordingly.”
Standing up from her seat, she walked towards the door. “Now, I think we’ve kept Twice waiting long enough. I look forward to working with you.” What is this, a job interview?! At least she didn’t offer me a handshake to cap it off.
“Kay, Saki.” Toga muttered, feeling exhausted from everything. There was a lot of new information the seventeen year-old had to process and plenty of drugs keeping her from thinking with perfect clarity, but she didn’t miss the way Saki paused at the door, thrown by that comment.
“Saki, huh?” She said softly, as if feeling the words on her tongue. “I like it. Thanks, Himiko.” Twice burst into the room the second Saki left, concerned and fretting over Toga again. The girl barely noticed, drifting back into sleep, but feeling a sense of solidity, some small sliver of peace that would leave her waking up far less worriedly next time.
A/N: The title is a play on words about her wounds being dressed, as well as her shapeshifting letting her 'dress' as anyone else, and this being a plot to have her do that. Otherwise, just a little continuation of the previous My Villain Isekai, showing how Shisaki tries to use the remnants of the League as well as earn their trust.
