Dragonet doodles
Added 2023-07-27 08:21:44 +0000 UTCJuly has been an incredibly slow month, with me spending most of it doodling various dragonets as I still ride my Final Fantasy XVI high (also fighting off heatstroke and trying to figure out what to replace Twitter with as the last vestige of my online presence). Unfortunately, most of my efforts were somewhat undermined when my brain reminded me halfway through "oh, you're actually terrible at drawing dragons". But at least few turned out somewhat presentable.
I may update this post later on when I clean up some of the others. Now, back to charr with me.

I'm quite flattered to hear that dragon aficionados such as yourself enjoy these! The dragonets here are a bit deceptive, however – I made about a dozen different sketches, but when I only present the three best ones, it kind of oversells my ability, I'm afraid. ^^; I still don't feel that great about anatomy flow when drawing dragons, which is how most of them end up stiff, kind of awkward and janky. But I would love to practice them more. Thankfully, wyrmlings in XVI have such a wonderful design that they make it fairly fun. I think sketching out some of the Monster Hunter monsters earlier this year helped as a stepping stone, too.

Also your style fits Dragons well I think as you normally draw beings nicely massive and strong. When I see these I would love to commission you a few pictures of myself as I am sure that it would look fantastic. So you are clearly not bad at drawing dragons.
