The quote โAny sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magicโ is famously by Arthur C. Clarke. Misattributing it to Asimov really fits the character of the narcissistic trillionaire whoโs never getting corrected by anyone.

So the hope is probably to see if he could sneak the person out would likely be the best and easiest way but if not, an alien is on the lose for the taking and he's able to recover an alien after everyone else is dead (including the guards). He's giving false hope and lying to the kid saying that the person will be alright after the face hugger was on the person and sneak the person out, which from a kids point of view, would be sensible, because you wouldn't want the person you take to the egg to die right?
