November 2021 - Wrap Up

I can't believe that it's December already. Seems like this year has gone by in the blink of an eye. Thankfully, in spite of current waves of the pandemic it seems like the media business has started to normalize again so let's hope it stays that way.

As per usual it starts to slow down a bit towards the end of the year in general except for the also usual "We need to spend this budget still this year so please hurry up!" projects, so I'm currently working on a few projects that need to be done still this year in spite of the actual deadline when the music will be needed is way out.

Looking back at this Patreon, I'm really happy of how it has developed over the year. A big highlight of course was our first Orchestra Discovery Session. I will very soon start to post and cover the results of it here, as expected projects that are "just for fun" don't run as fast for everybody as the ones that need to be done. The numbers of patrons have been declining a bit over the last couple of weeks so I will try to run some ad campaigns with material from the Orchestra Discovery Session in the new year. I really want to reach the point where we can afford regular full orchestra sessions to try things out and invite you to them. I think another factor is that many people have discovered the "educational" market as source of income. The amount of courses that have been launched recently is staggering and it is unbelievable how much awful content is out there that people still seem to be willing to subscribe to because it sounds promising. So we'll see how this develops.

There has also been added a ton of content to this over the last year and the Table of Contents is getting really expansive by now. With the new series of the "Device Lexicon" as well as "Film Orchestration" there is a lot to come still.

And one more thing that I'm really happy about is the Discord Channel that I launched earlier this year. It is a small but very constructive community and we have a lot of really great talks in there and it is really great to connect more directly. Really happy about the attitude and atmosphere over there. A lot of you are there already and quite a few are silent readers which is totally fine of course. If you want to join, just make sure to connect your Patreon account to your Discord account and you will be automatically added.

Other than that, there is not much more to say. If you celebrate Christmas, I wish you a wonderful Christmas time and hope you can spend it with your loved ones. If not, I'm wishing you a great December and as always thanks so much for being on here, it really means a lot to me.

Robin
