Berlin Symphonic Strings - Test Run

As people seem to have enjoyed my last sample test run, here's another one.

Yesterday, Orchestral Tools released their "Berlin Symphonic Strings" which is a sample set of a considerably larger ensemble than their current "Berlin Strings". As a lot of my template is based on Orchestral Tools samples and they offered a fair crossgrade discount for existing Berlin Strings owners, I didn't hesitate much. Also, it seemed to fill in some gaps that I saw with my current template.

Today, I decided to give it a little test run with a type of piece that I feel suits the library best. I also made version with my current go to library for such a piece which would be Cinematic Studio Strings to have a direct comparison.

For me the clear winner still is Cinematic Studio Strings which just breathes much more naturally and expressively. Berlin Symphonic Strings have a nice and substantial tone especially in the lower instruments and the additional round robins on the legatos will come in handy for repetetive legato figures. The large section sizes might also in some cases help to support the considerably smaller ensemble of Cinematic Studio Strings.

So bottom line is: the new library will support but not replace Cinematic Studio Strings in my template.

Below are both pieces as uncompressed wav files.
