September Update: Projects in Development

Hey everyone! Hope you are well. I wanted to give a few updates on the things that I am working on for the main channel and for the Patreon. Been hard at work on these simultaneously and discussing them on Discord, so some of this might be repetitive for some of you, but just to have it all in one place, here are our current projects...

Disney's Living Characters: A Messy History

As many of you know, I have been working on a Deal or No Deal video for a few years now. Unfortunately, that project is getting delayed once more, as it has become so long and production-heavy that there was no way to get it out by the end of the year. In hopes of getting something significant but achievable out sooner, I have begun research on the topic that won last month's poll. This will track the development of Living Characters in Disney's theme parks, beginning with the first animatronics and ending with the push for AI characters. More updates on this to come, but I hope it will be out in late November/early December.

Defunctland After Dark: The Peculiar Origins of EPCOT Center

The second Defunctland After Dark video has been recorded and is currently being edited. The first video was an addendum/extension to my video on Walt Disney's E.P.C.O.T. city pitch. In a similar vein, this video will be an extension of last year's Journey to EPCOT Center, in which I will dive into many of the elements of EPCOT Center's origins that I was not able to in the narration-absent format of that documentary. This video will be split into at least two parts, with the first part being just under an hour, covering everything from the first talks of World Showcase and Future World and ending just before the EPCOT Center we know takes shape. I hope this will be out within the next two weeks.

Where We Parked: Season 3 Public Release

Our Patreon podcast Where We Parked will be released publicly next week. If you are not already aware of the timing, Patrons get access to each episode as they are finished, and then, when a six-episode season is complete, the entire season goes public. The public episodes are sometimes shorter than the Patreon ones, with certain bits cut out. Also, this season is unique in that this is the first time where an episode planned for the season will be made into a Patreon exclusive. Sounds of a Vanishing Era, which is rather short and not the most dense episode, will not appear in the six-episode release, meaning that only you will have access to it. Please cherish those train sounds.

I think that's it for now. We will have our monthly meeting, game night, and VIP meetings in the coming weeks. As a reminder, if you are not in the Discord, you are missing out on many of the meetings and updates, as well as Behind the Scenes posts. I am trying to keep a cleaner Patreon main feed so that everyone can find the Exclusive Content easier, so little updates are going exclusively on Discord. If you have not already joined, you will be automatically added to the server if you connect your Discord account to your Patreon.

As always, thank you all for your support and I hope you enjoy all of the things I am working on.

Best,

Kevin
