Goodbye Tumblr

Hey to everyone here who is still a patron after the last two years, and to all the people just joining us here now. For people who didn't follow the news, Tumblr begins its purge of NSFW accounts tomorrow. This means that I've had to scramble to rebuild, as most of my work was delivered through there. This has also given me some time to reflect on what I have done (or not done) here at Patreon. When I opened my Patreon it was due to a lot of demand from people who wanted a tip jar where they could regularly support my work. I'm still growing a lot as an artist and I haven't ever gotten scheduled enough that I could stop to make any of the things that I should have for Patreon, and in hindsight offering tier rewards with art polls was overly ambitious - commissions make up a huge majority of my income and it's hard to take a break from doing big-income projects to do things here.

So I want to thank everyone who has stuck with this Patreon for all this time. I know I need to be realistic going forward, so I've turned this place back into what it originally was - a tip jar. If you're still here after the last two years, I have to imagine you already treated this place like that... but if there's anyone here who was still really looking forward to the Patreon reward tiers that I never delivered on in the past, I'm really very sorry. I need to do what's realistic for me and for the people who have supported me going forward, so that means revamping the reward tiers to non-art related goals.

I don't feel comfortable doing "Access" pieces to myself (private stream rewards, etc) because I genuinely don't find myself to be the kind of person who it is a "Reward" to be around - and I always want to be available to all my supporters regardless of their income. Instead I just want to give people a chance to see the more nuanced versions of the things that I already do. So if you like my work and want to contribute financially to my artistic growth on a regular basis, please make a pledge! 2019 should be a big year, I want to get a store put together on my new website, get a more regular streaming schedule and continue to make better quality commissions.
