Another Tree Attempt!

I think I finally found a tree scale that I like on a regional level. This is by no means a completed map (still needs a lot of painting), but its main purpose is to test tree scale and style.

How does this style look with the mountains? Does it fit pretty good? I personally think i's a good balance between realistic and "representation".

That's exactly what I'm playing with at the moment as well. I'm doing my first world map with the assets. From what I'm discovering, and the fact WD is not vector-based, it will most likely take two different maps (1 world map, then zoomed in versions of various regions). There's actually a video on YouTube showing the best way to make local maps from your world map. The image in this post is 2060x1300.

Havin' a hard time finding the best symbol size that looks good when I zoom in. I've been trying to make as massive a map as possible, so using like 30% on your symbols for example. When I zoom in however, yours look amazing still and everything else, like freshwater and shorelines etc. are pixelated. Can't seem to get a good map size zoom scale in WD to match the zoomed clarity of your assets. I think I'm gonna hafta just make many separate maps for continents and plop the globe together in photoshop or something. If you don't mind my asking, roughly what symbol size and zoom level is this example image? edit 'cause yeah the trees look great, like everything you're doing tbh, so trying to emulate it ;p

LOVE THESE! Your painting and shading makes me realize I need to practice getting a better blend though lol....almost looks like a watercolor blend on that. Really nice. But yeah, these trees are awesome! :)
