Nature's Hand (wondrous item) - The Forge

Part 3:

The slightest scrape of metal on stone catches Kuvra's attention. The shrubbery, now clearly alive, is rather comically armed, barely able to hold up the heavy blade.

Kuvra walks over and kneels down before the small creature, tilting his head in quiet examination.

The shrub freezes in place before his hulking figure.

Kuvra's deep voice grinds to life, "Is that you in there Helry?"

The shrub is unresponsive, a statue before the forge's fires. The moment drags on as if time itself had slowed down. Then ever so slowly, the shrubbery starts to put the sword inside of itself, attempting to claim and conceal it.

Kuvra lets out an elongated sigh and rubs the back of his neck. "I don't think it understands me. I had hoped she wasn't truly gone. That maybe she was trapped inside that ring. Had been able to steal away into those plants she loved so much." He sighs again, a long low rumble down in his bones. "She's gone though."

Crackling fire fills the silence as the minotaur collects his thoughts.

"You're welcome to keep the ring. It should let you control that little bush, for whatever that's worth to you."

After taking one last long look at the shrub, he turns to you and says, "You can keep the sword as well."

The Poll, Rules, etc.:

So the name Nature's Hand was chosen for the ring in the last poll and I think that's pretty darn fitting given that you can summon forth and control different plants. I shifted back and forth on the rules a bit, trying to decide whether this ring would be able to summon out of thin air or whether there had to be a relevant target. I decided to go with the summoning out of thin air as it would be a bit more versatile even though it may be a bit less flavorful.

I sat on releasing this for a little bit until I could finish coming up with the rest of the story with Kuvra and his connection to the ring. I had made it clear that it belonged to his friend before and I wanted to tie that in to the ending and reveal a bit more about Kuvra.

Anywho, this has gone on far too long. I'll try and get the next forge item up soon. <3
