Parks dept, NYPD, sanitation all worked together, picked up my piano, and demolished it.

It was one of the best Sounding pianos in New York City. Steinway model B. I did a fundraiser for 30,000 for it and invested another $30000 of my own saved money.

It was a 1959 New York Steinway. Built from iron that was originally supposed to be used in the American military for World War II. But the Steinway organization refused to let it be turned into something that kills people. They wanted to be something design only for beautyMy technician and I work together to refurbish it using all parts from Steinway in Hamburg Germany. Another irony that The marriage of components and original body and cast-iron plate made a sound that could only be described as two groups of people creating something not to kill each other but to make something beautiful. People lying underneath it described it as an angel orgasm.

I’ve been reluctant to talk about it because I don’t want progress in my life to depend on the negativity and emotional bankruptcy New York City at the moment. There’s been really wonderful individuals who have barely any resources of their own yet been steadfastly supporting and amazingly beautiful people despite this pervasive negativity.

I’m also pretty tired of being a constant downer with everything I post here. I’m ready to move onto a more positive phase of my life. Unfortunately I do require resources to make this happen.

The New York post and some other publications are likely going to release soon what happened to my piano and although I’m not crazy about the finger-pointing that will inevitably be going to go on after this, I do hope it will rally enough support so I can get a decent storage space for the piano near the park and rebuild another piano that sounds just as good or maybe even better than my previous one.

Post pandemic New York City is a cesspool of horribleness. Nonetheless it my home. NYC is a part of me and I will never stop fighting for it no matter the odds.

Right now I would like to take a breather and go down to Virginia for a week or two. Train tickets run about $150. Let’s see if i can raise it.

I’m really sorry, Colin. That piano and you were two of the first beautiful things I saw when I moved here for school just over ten years ago. Your username here has become my motto too.

If you guys know any journalists or simply want to encourage any media to push this forward, that would be a good help

Sorry to hear this. A break will do you good. It might be too early for this but just pulled up Craigslist and there are free pianos all over NYC so chin up. Moving one, restoring one.....it's a process. A new chapter awaits. Chin up.

This is gut wrenchingly awful. I am horrified they did this.
