Hello everyone!
It's time for another update on how the art of Star Crew is coming along.
I'm really happy with the things Akumakiro is making.
First I wanted to show the revised versions of the characters I showcased in the previous update.
The changes are not big, but we talked about giving more details to the boots and making sure the uniforms are consistent.

Since the characters are part of an organizations with ranks, we decided that they would have the rank visible on the shoulder pads.
Also the different colors mean different branches:
Red is security.
Blue is science.
Green is operations/engineering.
Purple is maintenance/janitorial.
Yellow is command/administration.
White is medical.

Zane is a bit mean spirited.
He is in the maintenance/janitorial branch.
I haven't used him as much as other characters.

Zane comes from Magical Battler.
He collects and sells used underwear.
He is a rough character.

Here is a comparison of my sketches and the final version by Akumakiro.
I think he did a great job making him look like someone you shouldn't mess with.

The first character completely designed for this game from scratch.
His yellow uniform indicates he does administrative work.
Craig Luna is what is called Animalia.
Centuries ago several species were uplifted and modified to become smarter and more human-looking.
While the practice of uplifting animals has been outlawed for generations, the remaining animalia are considered people and have every right as any other citizen.

Here are my sketches for Craig. At some point we changed him from a random whale to an more orca look.
Since he is a descendant of genetically modified and uplifted animals, he is not a straight up antrho orca.
Akumakiro did a complete standing sprite, but in the game he is behind a desk.

Here is the last character we have in this game.
We don't get to learn his name, but we know he is a civilian, and a shady looking guy.
I wanted him to have mechanical enhancements rather than being genetically customized like Adam (our big boy in red).
Just like Craig, he is a product of generations of genetically modified creatures, so that's why his look is so different.
Akumakiro did an amazing job redesigning him.
When we talked about how he should be dressed, I mentioned Jubilee from X-Men as an example of a cool look that feels modern, so he ended up giving him a yellow leather jacket.
My version was a bit too much with the odd skin color and the mechanical parts, so we decided to make the palette less extreme.
I hope you all enjoy the second part of the lineup.
Akumakiro is currently working on the backgrounds. It is a boring part, but it is a necessary one to get the game looking great.
It seems that not everything can be chubby guys.
The script for the game is complete, though I'll probably keep adding details on it.
And the UI is pretty much finished as well.
Thank you all for your support!
Hugs
