🎉 New Year and Back to the Office Outfits 📅
Added 2025-01-10 14:05:01 +0000 UTCHello everyone, Sonia here for the first post of the year!
Wishing you all a happy new year and all the best for the months ahead. On our side, we have plenty of exciting new things coming our way, as we aim to release Paralives in Early Access later this year!
For this post, we’ll feature a regular office team of Parafolk. Some seem to be struggling to get back into the rhythm of office life. Could it be the monotony of everyday work they didn’t miss, or did last night's celebrations run a bit too long...? I’ll let you decide!
Here’s our team of hard workers! Don’t they look fantastic?
A group of Parafolk cheerfully chatting in the office break room. A quick reminder that jobs will be a rabbit hole for early access.
Let’s take a closer look at the new additions!
✂️ Hairstyles
A soft slick back for wavy hair, a good balance between relaxed and professional.
A wavy side-parted hairstyle, ideal for serious and career-oriented Parafolk.
A wavy middle-part hairstyle, a more laid-back look for those who prefer a casual vibe.
A trendy modern mullet, fitting for an intern whose look remains untouched by the harsh office policies yet.
👔 Tops
A sleeveless cardigan, which offers a serious yet comfortable look.

An elegant blouse with puffy sleeves to stay fashionable in the office.
A cozy polar hoodie, perfect for comfort at any temperature.

This comfy blouse pairs beautifully with the boldest patterns.
💍 Accessories
A stylish necklace with two rings, a variant with a single ring, and a crystal necklace to attract positive energy.

A boho-inspired cluster of bracelets, a bracelet with a mix of pearl and metal designs, and a set of small beaded bracelets.
A bold ring with a large gemstone, a simple thick ring and a classic signet ring.
👩🏻🦰 Body Details
A Parafolk with heavy freckles on her face and body.
Dense torso body hair, curly and straight.
That’s all for today’s post! We hope you enjoyed the content, many more exciting updates are coming this year. Wishing you all a happy new year once again, and thank you for your continued support!

2025-06-15 21:10:14 +0000 UTCAll good. I wasn't offended personally but I know that the version of me about 35 or so years ago may have been and so I wanted to say something to add a different perspective. I can understand where you were coming from -- media with a focus on very thin bodies being an 'ideal' when in reality the models were often people who were like me where it was genetic and so mostly unattainable for most people (unless they do something unhealthy) has been extremely harmful to so many people. And having been 'too thin' and desperate to gain weight, I developed a bad relationship with food with too large portions, binging, etc., and so once I was pregnant and started gaining weight I ballooned. A benefit of getting older is I no longer have men cat calling me or saying rude things like to lose weight when going jogging. It's like at a certain age, I became part of the background.. invisible. But most importantly, I also care less about what others think of me. I hope anyone reading this will learn to challenge negative self-talk and practice being kind to yourself.

2025-01-15 05:31:43 +0000 UTCSome of the lines on the clohtes and the parafolk are a little bit too extreme and should be lightened up!

2025-01-14 18:30:38 +0000 UTCOh that's absolutely fine with me. Just the fact that we even have them in the base game, even if for aesthetics only, has me so excited! I'm going to definitely be placing them down in some of my builds

2025-01-13 13:36:32 +0000 UTCI am absolutely loving the variety of body hair and skin details 🩵 every body is different and its great that well be able to represent that not just for facial details but also body details! That one blouse I feel has a little too much linework going on though, I'd say, makes it look very wrinkled. Perhaps simply toning down the opacity of the lines would help with that? I noticed a similar thing on a few outfits before. Everything else looks perfect though ☺️

2025-01-11 14:50:00 +0000 UTChappy new year!! i absolutely love the modern mullet hairstyle, the red blouse and the cozy hoodie - i really feel like i know how the fabrics would feel on my skin, the texture looks great on these! i also adore the necklaces and bracelets - having a wide variety of jewellery is so fun. my favourite thing from this post is the corse body hair though - my brain immediately went to "oh i can actually make my boyfriend this game" which like, representation is so so great <3!

2025-01-11 10:37:36 +0000 UTCI'm sorry I didn't think of that when I wrote my comment. I just saw how thin the Para looked and was worried about what kids and teenagers might think or do. I didn't think about the fact that there are people who want to gain weight but perhaps can't for genetic reasons. I know that was a mistake. I myself have an eating disorder. I'm not very thin, I'm rather fat, but my eating and thinking habits are crucial to the illness and the para somehow triggered me. My thoughts were that I absolutely had to lose weight now, that I was eating too much, etc. and I was afraid that others might feel the same way when they played the game. I'm sorry that I didn't think further and that I offended you. That was never my intention!

2025-01-11 10:12:16 +0000 UTCI appreciate Cece saying - eating disorder <> a body type. Re: "But one thing bothers me and that is how skinny the redheaded woman looks. I hope in real life she looks different and is fine.. " and " If eating disorders are going to be part of the game, then these are really good details about what effects this disease can have on the body." I've been on both sides of the spectrum. When I was young I was extremely thin, e.g., 115 lbs 5'10" (whereas 150lbs would still be thin) and all the negative judgement/disgust but also the concern from well meaning people (teachers/etc. who worried I was starving or had an eating disorder) was very harmful to my self image. I was desperate to gain weight but wasn't successful despite eating ridiculous amounts of food. Two separate doctors ruled it as normal and suspected it was genetic based on my mother having had the same experience. And then like her, I gained a huge amount of weight once pregnant. In short, you're entitled to your opinion. However, wanted to say something to educate anyone who may read this about how harmful expressing such opinions can be and to help educate others. Talking about how someone is so thin and assuming (even if it's just a parafolk) that they have an eating disorder wouldn't be different than commenting about how some other parafolks may weigh too much but would be okay to include larger paras if it's intended they have eating disorders. I would hate for someone who is very thin to see this and feel the apparent disgust for their body type. To feel that people may think they look sick, or have an eating disorder, or have cancer, etc. Thank you, Paralives team, for showing different body types. I appreciate how inclusive you have and continue to be and I'm so looking forward to this game!
Jennifer
2025-01-11 04:47:12 +0000 UTCI like that the men's body hair is both curly and straight, I hate that in the Sims we only get straight, so any black Sims made can't have the curly body hair they should have. Heck even some white guys have curly chest hair. But then the body hair in The Sims games never look real, it looks like someone used a marker to pretend they have body hair, both in TS3 and TS4. The Parafolks body hair actually looks more real, even with the drawn look of the Parafolks. I like the hair and outfits too and the freckles for both body and face.

2025-01-11 00:04:52 +0000 UTCI know it's a fairly simple piece but I LOVE the ring necklace! I wear my wedding ring on a chain because I work with my hands a lot amd wearing rings exacerbates my eczema, so it's nice to know I can recreate myself a little more accurately 😁

2025-01-10 21:52:56 +0000 UTCI didn't mean any of it in a bad way or mean to be rude! That was just my first thought: she looks sick because the lines are way too thick and strong, making her look like she's just skin and bones. You can see her tendons and muscles, at least that's how it looks to me, probably because of the thick lines. It's okay if it's just a body shape for you, everyone has their opinion. However, I would be worried if, for example, my grandma looked like that... None of this was meant to be rude and I'm sorry if it came across that way.

2025-01-10 19:56:28 +0000 UTCI just want to thank you guys for making your paras look like normal people with normal bodies. And this helps showcase that the clothes look good on different bodies.

2025-01-10 18:00:16 +0000 UTCI seriously hope you are not serious about anything you just typed... so shallow to think there aren't many different body types. People are skinny, people are fat, people are muscular, people are average weight. That's just how we are made different from each other. Doesn't mean she has an eating disorder. Very rude of you, honestly
Jordan Harrison
2025-01-10 17:27:23 +0000 UTCThanks for sharing your feedback! I'll take note for the blouse, neck lines and freckles and see what I can do on that side. For the bracelet, they're never meant to been seen this close to be honest, the low quality isn't as noticable from a regular viewing distance.

2025-01-10 17:23:05 +0000 UTCHappy New Year, Team!!!! Ok can I just say, that the "boss" lady is a bad b*tch! (Excuse my language) but she's so badass and I love her hair and the red blouse. Perfect additions to the paramaker. And forgive me if I'm wrong, but are we seriously getting Vending Machines in the base game? If so, I'm even more excited for early access this year! Great job to everyone involved and can't wait for what's to come

2025-01-10 17:22:19 +0000 UTCWe have dense option for different body part so you can match the intensity
Sonia
2025-01-10 17:21:50 +0000 UTCYes, she isn't supposed to represent an eating disorder, simply someone elder with a more thinner frame, that's why she has more texture detail on skin.

2025-01-10 17:04:35 +0000 UTCHappy new year guys! I'm so excited for this year because of this game 💚 I liked everything except 4 things that I believe need more work IMO: The blue blouse looks a little too wrinkly (the one without the pattern). The neck lines on the redhead look too dark for that skin tone. The freckles and skin details in the same parafolk look a little "low quality" (I don't really know how to explain it). Lastly, the boho bracelets also look low quality, like too pixelated. I know the main esthetics in Paralives is to make them look like "drawings" and I like it but some things look amazing and others look "unfinished" or exaggerated. Sometimes "less is more" in the case of body lines specially. I repeat, this is my opinion only. I'm super excited for this year's development posts and Early Access, wish you the best of luck 💚

2025-01-10 16:47:26 +0000 UTCHope you had a good rest team! Excited to see what this new year brings! And ofc loved the post as always - you never know what you’re missing until it’s gone and damn did I miss weekly posts! My favourite detail was how everyone had a different resting expression - the older lady looked like a free spirit from her beau teak face, while the para with the mullet looked so done with life XD

2025-01-10 16:15:54 +0000 UTCHappy new year!! Love the new hairstyles and the curly body hair looks amazing!
Danny Juforier
2025-01-10 16:15:08 +0000 UTCEating disorders ≠ a body type. People have all kinds of body types, and people lose and gain weight for an array of health reasons. Older slim people may have more defined collarbones bc the skin sags from the body. I don’t think any of these Paras are meant to represent “the ideal weight”- they’re just paras with different body types to show the variety.

2025-01-10 16:07:33 +0000 UTCHappy new year, team! I hope you all enjoyed some restful and fun holidays!! I love this post, so many great new hairs and accessories and clothes and details!! It all looks great! I can't wait to start making Paras of my own! I'll just be trying not to interpret that summer calendar as some kind of hint XD

2025-01-10 15:22:49 +0000 UTCVery good additions, but what I liked the most was the blond guy's nose. It looked exactly like a friend of mine, I will replicate when I make him in the game. The pictures of the body details were a little bit shiny/glossy, different than the rest, I believe. What happened?

2025-01-10 15:08:03 +0000 UTCI can't believe it will be out in early access THIS YEAR. I've been following along since the first months when you released those window and furniture resizing teasers 😄 And it's come such a long way, and with so much dedication!!! I'll be honest, back then I thought it would never be finished and come out 😅 But here we are!! You should be very proud of what you've accomplished<3

2025-01-10 15:05:31 +0000 UTCHappy New Year team! I!'m just curious, is matching body hair for different parts of the body (arms, legs, back) planned? The ones in here look great, but they might look a bit odd without the rest of the body. Just curious though. Nice work!

2025-01-10 14:50:39 +0000 UTCI also wish you all a wonderful New Year. This post contains so many interesting details, I'm so excited. I love the short light and medium length hair and the blouses are so cute. I also love the body hair and freckles on the body. It looks so good. But one thing bothers me and that is how skinny the redheaded woman looks. I hope in real life she looks different and is fine.. (if she really exists) You can see it particularly clearly on the neck/decolleté and on the feet. If eating disorders are going to be part of the game, then these are really good details about what effects this disease can have on the body. However, if this is not the case, I am of the opinion that the Paras are too thin if this is still considered the ideal weight.

2025-01-10 14:43:34 +0000 UTCThe team is back! I hope you had a good vacation. These paramaker posts show we'll have plenty of customization options. I'm excited for this year's release.

2025-01-10 14:22:17 +0000 UTCHappy New Year, Paradevs ! The opportunity for me to wish you the best for 2025, which is going to be such a big year for you. This January also marks the 5th anniversary of me joining the Paratreon, and I couldn't be happier with what the progress over these years. I absolutely love that red blouse. That's my kind of blouse, right there. Also very much interested in having curly body hair, that's not something you see everyday ! The jewelry is very nice too ; here in France we'd call the first one a "chevalière", but I don't know if that is also the case in Québec. My favorite in this post is probably the older Parafolk with freckles AND wrinkles. It's so nice that we'll be able to combine them rather than having to choose, and it gives the character so much... character !
