👶 New Content for Babies and Toddlers

Sonia and I recently focused our efforts on adding more customizations for the smaller Parafolks, introduced to you in this post. We worked hard to add new clothes, hairstyles, and facial features, and it’s time to showcase them to you!
Creating Unique Babies and Toddlers
Sonia created all the Parafolks below using our new content. For now, we focused our efforts on full-body outfits. In the future, options will be added for Tops and Bottoms.

New Hairstyles
Here is a closer look at all the new hairstyles:
Cute space buns for the coily-haired toddlers!
Messy curly hair.
Short coily hair with tight curls.
The classic bowl cut that so many children have!
Short straight hair, which are very thin on the ends.
Very thin hair for newborn babies.
New Outfits
Time to check out those full-body outfits; the doggo pyjama is the team’s favorite 🐶
An adorable dress with a strawberry pattern and a colorful pacifier.
Jeans overalls are a must-have for our little Parafolks!
Sonia created the Doggo onesie. It’s recolorable if you’d rather have another dog breed!
A simple swimsuit for their first time at the pool.
A swimsuit with more coverage.
No diapers? No problem! We have an underwear option!
A pyjama onesie to keep your baby warm and cozy!
A long-sleeved onesie.
And finally, a short-sleeve onesie.
New Shoes
We couldn’t let them run (or crawl) around without any shoes, so we added some options for their little feet!
Open shoes, perfect for warm weather adventures.
Your toddler is coming with you to a fancy event? We have the perfect shoes for them!
Timeless, classic, and practical: the velcro sneakers.
New Facial Features
Clothes and hairstyles would not be enough, so Sonia added some deformations and presets for their faces. As with adults, you will be able to customize them with sliders!

For example, I really love adeepindigo's pre-teen mod for the sims 4. Can't wait to play paralives! But, like everybody repeats - take your time!

2025-04-09 14:32:31 +0000 UTCI agree with other commenters that the eyes being a little bigger would be cuter and the shading for the lightest and the darkest skintine need some tweaking. Light bounces off of darker skin tones, but the coloring of the baby is very flat and it's harder to make out the facial features. There are a lot of good things in this post. Truly adorable and wonderful work 💖

They just stick out like a sore thumb and don't seem to be as detailed as the other skin tones. I've noticed this with other posts also, especially the super light skin tones. Apart from that it all looks great!

2025-04-04 23:05:52 +0000 UTCLove the doggo onesie, but I do hope we will also get a cat onesie, The Sims has always tended to favor dogs, so even when they make clothes with cats and dogs on them, the ones with dogs tend to get the better colours, then the cats. I mean with Cats And Dogs they even made only an outfit for boy toddlers that was just dogs, and a cat dress for the girls, like they were saying dogs are for boys and cats are for girls, which is silly. I don't want another game to cater only to dog people.

2025-04-04 19:03:53 +0000 UTCi love these updates though i figured out whats been bothering me a bit about the artstyle and that is lack of custom shaders... i love how the windows have a specific shine to them and i feel like hair could get something similar, obv it wouldnt work the best with curly hair but i think thats where masks n stuff come in. This is just an opinion that imo would make the hair overall look less dry iykwim :DD keep up the amazing work, cant wait to get my hands on this game!!

In other words, I have a family with character A and character B, can I have that A ages while B always stays the same age? A weird question I know, and I don't think I would ever do that in my gameplay (I'm more likely to turn off aging for everyone), but I just wanted to ask :-)

2025-04-04 16:08:18 +0000 UTCVery cute! Collarbones are really not visible on infants and well-nourished toddlers though. Neck rolls? Yes 😍 Big chonky shoulder creases? Yes 😍 But collarbones? Absolutely not. If you can see a toddler’s collarbone, there’s a good chance it’s fractured or we’re talking about malnutrition, which I very much don’t want to see in a game.

They don't look healthy to me, specially around the mouth and in their forehead. The ears is also a bit too big, not very natural, as the ears grows bigger as we age. I also really hope you will make "newborns", when they are very tiny and fragile. I don't want my para to have a 6 months old looking baby just after giving birth. 🙃 There is lots of cozy interactions you can make with newborns. Like cuddling on the couch, napping together in bed. Talk to the baby and breastfeeding, while laying on the bed or couch. Using a pram to go on walks. Being able to lay down the newborn in car seat, pram and bed. Bath the newborn, use the changing table. An animation where both caregivers can connect and talk to the newborn laying in bed would have been so adorable! 🥹 🥹

I needed a bit of softness to end the week with :) I like that you focused on full body outfits, because it immediately translates into having a lot of variety for onesies, particularly for toddlers. The blue one with short legs (on the right of the group picture) is really adorable, and it feels like something very versatile that you could turn into a bathing suit with the right texture if you wanted, but also something that looks more like underwear that keeps you warm if you use a wool-like pattern (not sure if that one is layerable, but it's not too ample that it might just be ?). I love the facial features, too, and it's very nice how not all kids look the same despite being the same age. It reminds me of a question I keep forgetting to ask : what's plan for height differences at these two lifestages ? Obviously you can't create a giant baby that's taller than its parents, even in the PAM (...or can you ?), but my question is more along the lines of : when do height differences start to show ? "Short straight hair, which are very thin on the ends." Oh my God this baby looks like the babies made by Mattel for Barbie in the 90s ! (do they still make those ?)

The space buns are adorable and those messy curls are incredible and I'm 100% committed to using them often when I play. The struggle will be not using them every time lmao. I'll also confess that the strawberry dress will be my go to in the game as well. I think it's positively adorable and perfect for those sweet little toddlers. Honestly it would make a cute dress for a child Para too! So glad to see the littles getting attention here, even the babies! As a person who loves playing families in these games I'm so excited to continue that journey into Paralives in the future.
