🎶 Music for Your Favorite Shops 🏘️

What’s up everyone! Andrei here, back again with some fresh music for you! As the town of Paralives continues to come to life thanks to our amazing artists Chloé and Léa, we’ve been adding different types of local businesses for your Paras to explore. (You can check out more about the town in this post). To give a specific vibe to each of these businesses, we decided to compose custom music for some of them 🎵 This post is for Patrons only, so please don’t share any of its content! Thank you!

🎥 In the video above, you heard the music of five of our different business lots that you can explore in the town. Just like the radio tracks (that you can listen to in this Patreon post), most of these were made in a day of work each. You’ll hear them playing from radios placed inside each shop 🔊

👕👗 “L’Armoire” Clothing Shop

When I thought about a classy clothing shop, I immediately pictured some smooth Muzak with Bossa Nova vibes 🎷 Light, breezy, and a bit “elevator cliché”, but still catchy enough to stand on its own. The more I worked on it, the more it started sounding like a little nod to The Sims 1 soundtrack 👀

🪑📻Market Antiques

When I had to create the music for the antiques shop, I pictured the owners as an old couple. So I composed a simple waltzy melody, imagining that it was the song to which they first danced to. And on their time off, one of them would ask for the other’s hand and start slow dancing amongst all the antiques full of cherished memories.

🌸💐 “Bloom” Flower Shop

For the flower shop, I wanted to make something that felt zen and almost meditative. My thought was that the owner(s) would play this music not for the customers but for the flowers to blossom and be happy 🌿 So I added waves, birds, and trees sound effects to make the plants feel like they’re still out there in nature.

💈✂️ “Headlines” Barber Shop

Looking back, I realized that most of the tracks I had done for the town lots were pretty chill. So I wanted to twist things up and make something upbeat for the barbershop. The kinda track that would start playing as your para goes in and the staff says “don’t worry, we’re gonna make you look like a star” ⭐ Fun fact: I think this one was unexpectedly Alex’s favorite.

☕🥐 Crème Café

For the café, I just went with something smooth and catchy. A little R&B flavor, sprinkled with pop and folk. The kind of tune that quietly gets stuck in your head while you sip your coffee ☕ I actually made this one during a hackweek about a year ago… along with some other secret tracks that I can’t share just yet 👀

That’s the lineup! The idea was to make simple and catchy songs that would fit the personality of each business. That way, whenever you’re exploring the town with your newly created paras you can vibe to the music as you find out all the different things that you can do out there. As the game grows and more places open up, I’ll be super excited to add more music to give them their own personality.

Until next time,

Andrei ♪♩♩ ♪♩♩♩

The barber shop had me dancing with my coffee all over me lol

Krystal410

Amei todas as músicas, trazem uma sensação muito boa e aconchegante mas admito que a música da cafeteria foi a minha favorita 😍🫰

Estefani Oliveira

Honestly they all fit their places so well, but I have to say my personal faves were the flower shop and the café. I'm excited to experience all your soundtracks and music in December

Sarah

Wonderful shops!Love it!Maybe when para goes to the barber shop to get a haircut, there will be a small mishap where the haircut fails and the hairstyle becomes different from what you expected, or even a big failure that is worse, which makes the para look completely different?

y Won

Omg I love them all, they're so unique from each other and really set the vibe!

LightDeficient

Crème Café <3

Susan Albright

I love the "headlines" ❤️❤️❤️

Nathalie Carluccio

There’s a restaurant here in Lisbon and it’s called Bloom, so cute , can’t wait foe this release

Urian McHugh

“Headlines” is the perfect track for a lively little hair salon like this one! The energy is spot-on—dynamic and playful, with such a rich variety of instrumental textures. I especially adore the use of synths; they bring a unique warmth and sparkle to the atmosphere. It’s the kind of music that makes you feel like the town is truly alive. Absolutely love it! 💕✂️🎶

NaSiHhs

Do you think about adding a retail system in the future, so we can run our own stores from home or on a community lot?

Alexsandro Gnovatto

I absolutely love the Bloom and Antique shop 🥰 they instantly calm my anxiety. Feels cozy

Jennifer

It's a toss up between L'armoire and the antique shop for me, they're both equally brilliant. I'm not sure about the town lots, but I feel the more variation the better, within reason of course.

Íris Sól Þrastardóttir

The antique shop was definitely my favorite! Good work! 👏

Sammy Clark

Dang you, Andrei! I LOVE that different shops will have different music! And the stories you attached...! For story and soundtrack, Market Antiques is my favorite, but I can jam to all of these. Bravo, sir. If you do a secondhand store, something funk would be a hit!

Madragal

I love that different businesses have separate music. Love the Headlines one. Brilliant work Andrei as usual. ☺️

Mysteri

I can't wait to hear these beautiful tunes in game and subconsciously learn the melody to hum along to without realizing it lol 🥹🌇 Thank you, Andrei for bringing this game to life with your music! 💞

ZLoves212

Man I just got major flashbacks. L'Armoire reminds me of an old ipod chocolate game I played when little called Chocolate Shop Frenzy. It's so similar! Crème Cafe sounds like being in the cafe in the evening, after a long tiring day and just unwinding - and it's all orange and dark outside. Also, love love love Bloom! Makes u feel like ur going into the plants little haven and u gotta chill out lol

mazyfly

L’Armoire is my favourite so far! Chill and upbeat :D

desischsarah

This is so wonderful! I love the tracks (I definitely felt the Sims 1 vibes in L'Armoire haha) and the stories behind what inspired them made them even better!! Thank you so much for sharing these! <3

Lane Brettschneider

They’re all amazing!!! But I would say “Bloom” and “Headlines” are my favorites.

Chelby Farley

Omg the vibes!!! They’re immaculate! Love them all but L’Armoire’s soundrack gives me all the feels

Another Plumbob

Will all shops be active or rabbit holes? Loving the vibes!

ღPark Nikkiღ

Amazing stuff! Really reminds me of a mix between Sims 1 and 2 tracks, which are my fav sims games.

Sir Trooper

I think L'armoire and Headlines are my favourites. L'armoire definitely gives me Sims 1 nostalgia. Headlines sort of gives me Style Savvy vibes.

Dizzardy

🎧I always know I'll be vibing when Andrei releases new stuff! Thank you for the beautiful soundtrack❤️🧘🏾‍♀️.

Thabiso Ptk❤️🖤🤍💚

Good work! Very playable.

I JONES

I love how chill they all are, but I really like Market Antiques and Headlines the most!

BooDotBoo .

I love the vibe and how it gives the atmosphere this chill feeling that is immersive.

Leah Beth

I like Bloom, Headlines and Creme Café. Mostly, though, I'm looking forward to nature/ small city/ suburban/ farm/ human interactions in the background kind of sounds while playing.

sm duta

I love all of the decisions that went in to creating each song. So intentional so perfectly made to fit the vibe of the game and the lots themselves. Love them all but L'Armoire and Creme Cafe are my favorites.

phoenix grey

Great detail. Particularly loved L’Armoire and headline.

Tyke

the tracks were all great for their respective places! i think crème cafe was my favorite! headlines was also great haha!! LOVE the extra outdoorsy sounds in the bloom one 💕 question: i remember you guys saying there’d be lots of rabbit holes like for work and stuff, are these buildings included? like would we get to listen to these tracks while our paras browse on their own? if not, would they become them if we applied for jobs there?

Chance

Hey Kellie!! Super glad to hear that an OG Sims fan enjoyed this post. It means a lot! 🙏

Andrei Castanon

Gracias paaaaaaaaaaa!!!!

Andrei Castanon

Thanks Cora! There will probably be one soon!! 👀

Andrei Castanon

Hey Trishaaaa!! Hehe thanks so much! I'm super glad you've enjoyed the music so far! I feel you with listening to a song on repeat for 4 hours. Super random but for me in videogame soundtracks it was the Assassins Creed 3 main theme 😅😅

Andrei Castanon

Hey Josephinnnn!! Thank you so much! Super glad you've enjoyed what we've shown so far! A kindergarten, animal shelter and bakery with themes sound so wholesome. Can't wait for things like that to be added to the game!

Andrei Castanon

Hehehehe that's heartwarming. Chances are when the old couple hears the door bell ring they'll stop dancing. One of them is very shy 🙈

Andrei Castanon

Eyyyyy 🪩 Gotta add a dance floor to that barbershop

Andrei Castanon

Hey Nick thanks so much. That really means a lot. I'm super lucky to be in a team such as this one 😁

Andrei Castanon

Noted! Thanks for the feedback! And yes you can disable specific tracks anytime you want in the control panel!

Andrei Castanon

To be honest I don't know the technical specifics of how the music will be set to each lot specifically. My guess would be that you'll be able to do it through the control panel but chances are you're gonna have to go in depth to associate different music to your custom lots. An aquarium, music store and beach food stand sound like awesome ideas!! I'd love to see them being added to the town 🏘️

Andrei Castanon

Besides the game itself, my favorite thing about the original Sims was the music. I would spend hours building houses and placing objects just to hear the delicate keys of that piano or the upbeat strings and flute. So to see (or hear, rather!) that you all are just as attentive to detail when it comes to how music affects the mood is very much appreciated. All of these tracks are lovely, but my favorite is the one for the "Bloom" flower shop!

Kellie Been

I really liked them all; you can feel the love and dedication you put into each song, simply lovely. Since I love Bossa Nova, 'L’Armoire' stood out to me. But I agree with Alex—'Headlines' was my favorite..

Ivan

Comfort zone soundtrack 🎶 I'd like to sneak into the shops and take a look 🥰

Cora

Hi Andrei thank you for more amazing music! I swear I look forward to all of the songs you create for this game. The day we can get a full playlist somewhere or buy it I'll be right on that. I find them so relaxing for the most part! It's like 5am from Animal Crossing New Horizons all over again for me. And I was obsessed enough to listen to the 4 hour version on repeat before. 😂 I think my favourite is from the antique shop but bloom and the barbers were close for me too. Both of those matches the vibes too.

Trisha

I love every song and every thought behind it. ❤️ But I especially like the song for the barber shop 😍💓 I'd like a song for the gym, and for a possible kindergarten, a bakery, a hospital, and an animal shelter, should these shops become part of the game in the future. I'd also like a song for municipal buildings like a town hall, a registry office, etc. I'm so happy with everything so far and glad to be part of the creation ❣️ Thank you for another glimpse "behind the scenes."😂🤗

Josephin01

Thank you so much Ellen! That means a lot coming from a Sims 1 and 2 fan 💚

Andrei Castanon

Hey GalacticFrost! First of all, sick name. Second, thanks so much super glad you enjoyed the post! To answer your questions: 1. I'm pretty sure once we get to do more towns in a future we'll definitely put the same level of detail if not more 2. I don't really know the answer to that but my guess would be that it might be possible 3. Great question! There was no real criteria to choose which place would have at first a theme. Alex and I just went with our gut. Although you might say that we started out making music for these 5 businesses since they are not necessarily places where will spend that much time except for the coffee shop Thanks again!

Andrei Castanon

My favourite track have to be the antique shop. I imagined myself getting the para, who I will be making, walking into the shop and just buy something from there while watching the old couple dancing to the tune. The thought was just heartwarming and wanting something like that one day.

Teddy Galaxy

I love all of these tracks but my favorite has to be Headlines, the way I’m going to be going there just to listen to the music and bust a few moves 🕺🏻

Venus

Hey Lena! Thank you so much! Super glad you liked it! I aspire to that too someday

Andrei Castanon

Hahahaha anytime! 😆🦷

Andrei Castanon

Thank you so much Rafaela!

Andrei Castanon

Thank you! 🎵

Andrei Castanon

Definitely in love with the Antique track and the personality behind each of them! Thank you for more sneak peeks, Andrei!! The Paralives team is lucky to have a composer that just gets it 🎶

Nick C

It's good but around 0:35 high notes coming from my low-end speakers were painful to listen to. Dunno if it's audio compression on patreon videos or the original music is like that. If it's how the music will play in the game, i'd appreciate an option to disable specific tracks from playing :X

Ecter

I'm curious about the mechanics of this feature. Will the music be tied to a lot type that you set when building, or on a case by case basis? Will we be able to set music for other lots without getting too indepth in the modding tools? I'd like to be able to add music to custom build projects like classic rock for a music store, new age to an aquarium, or surf rock to a beach food stand. As for default lots, I think if there's a government/law related building like Town Hall or a courthouse it should have its own theme. Something very formal, old fashioned or firmly consistent like a Sousa march.

BonaparteBardithion .

Genuinely love seeing the behind the scenes on the music. As someone who routinely just puts on the Sims 1/2 soundtrack, I'm grateful to see so much thought going into it! I love the music and it brings such a vibe to the game!

Ellen Kaluza

Good Day, Great update and always a highlight of my Friday when the post drops. I love the music in the game and think the soundtrack is def something you can also use as a chill work mix if you feel like it. I think having specific music per shop gives the world a personalised and immersive effect. A tough did crossed my mind, though. In the future, there will be expansions, free DLCs, and I know there have been mentions of other towns. 1.) Will the same level of detail be added to those towns? 2.) If we create our own towns, will we have the tools to also allocate a song to a specific rabbithole or shop? 3.) What is the criterion that is used to determine what lots get their own music, vs just the normal game music?

GalacticFrost

Thanks Cece :D

Andrei Castanon

Thank you TInsley! So glad you liked them!

Andrei Castanon

Thank you Flinka! Got it, gym music added to the ideas!!

Andrei Castanon

It's the Sims 1 vibesss!! Thanks Tristan!

Andrei Castanon

Thanks so much 🥳

Andrei Castanon

Hehehe thank you so much! We got some inspiration out of Animal Crossing and other cozy games for the idea. Super glad you liked it!

Andrei Castanon

Thank you so much CasTei! To answer your question, yes you'll be able to enter the 5 businesses mentioned! Ouuuuhh some fancy music for a nice fancy restaurant would be so nice 🎩

Andrei Castanon

The thought process behind composing Market Antiques made it impossible not to love it. That an old married couple dances together to the music is such a sweet thought (and perhaps something I aspire to someday).

Lena

STEWBYYYY! To be honest, I haven't discussed the gym music with Alex but it might have for the moment one of the existing radio stations. I'll ask him soon and we'll see!

Andrei Castanon

Sounds like I'm in the elevator of a classy cruise ship! Thank you for not reminding me of the waiting room at the dentist's office!

Derek Warren

Thanks Heather!

Andrei Castanon

Ladyterukiii! Thanks so much as usual! Super moved that you connected with the Antique shop theme. I really insist that it'd be so cool to have a record store where you can buy individual songs and play them in an LP or CD player. Maybe even hang them on your walls. As for your question for building stores from scratch, I can't really say much about it but it'd be amazing to be able to put your own music playlists for them. Thanks again!! :D

Andrei Castanon

🥳🥳🥳

Andrei Castanon

Oh that'd be so cool definitely!

Andrei Castanon

Hehe thank you so much Kaitlyn! :D They were super fun to do especially getting in the mindset of what the owners would want to put. Super glad you enjoyed the post!

Andrei Castanon

Love them all! Crème Cafés my favorite❤️

Rafaela

Hehehe thank you Ana :)

Andrei Castanon

Whaaaaaat I had no idea!! Crazy

Andrei Castanon

Love the music 🎶

joyyou10272009

I am also curious how you can customize this part of the game (gosh, the settings/mods part seems *almost* as fun as the game itself! :-D it will be cool to explore). Can I switch tracks between shops? (for example I want the Bloom music to play in the Crème Cafè or viceversa) Or maybe I want all the shops to have the same music (I can't think of a reason for it to be honest but... can I do it?). How much "control" do I have on these things? Also I have the same request as the radio stations post: I would like to be able to control the volume of the MUSIC (not the ambient sounds or the voices of the characters, just the music), so I can have it as a very low background if I want. Thanks!

Chiara

Gog, the little stories you guys put in even the simplest things in this game gives it Soo much heart. I want to see the old couple from the antique shop now 🥺🥺

Ana Caroline Martins da Silva

Did you know actually that jazz music helps plants grow the most

Noella Poyzer

Wowowowow!! This is such a good idea, and something I myself would have never even thought to do. But seeing it now, I can’t imagine the lots not having their own soundtracks. It’s literally genius. And the fact that you were able to make each of these tracks so quickly (and not to mention, with so much personality and intention)?? Mind boggling. Like the creativity shown here is genuinely off the charts. I am so excited to explore these lots and listen to their soundtracks in game (especially L’Armoire, that one was my favorite)!! You never disappoint, Andrei!!

Kaitlyn Jackson

I hope that you can build your own little businesses and choose some soundtracks for the radio in there to play i think that would be really cool for the future!

Rayn Simmerl

Oh, and to which town lot should have its own specific music: of course the Lighthouse. And maybe also the old shoe factory, which could bring a more gritty, street-smart vibe. Though maybe that's hard if you can't go inside them?

Rosa Leonie de Haas

Oooh I love this idea 💡 😍

I kinda forGoT

The music for L'Armoire reminds me of Sims 1

Eleanor Swan

Hi Andrei, what a pleasure as always to hear from you. It's such a fantastic idea for specific shops to have their own vibe ! Although I do hope that the local tourist office sells CDs of these songs so that my Paras can listen to them at home too ! I loved them all, but Market Antiques was by far my favorite. That's because I'm a masochist and when a song makes me cry, I instantly love it ^_^; No idea if it's because I read the backstory you pictured for the shop first, or if it's because its light piano sounds like the soundtrack of a Ghibli movie, but oh my God it is so touching. If we build stores (even if they're just shells) in the neighborhood, will we also be able to use these songs ?

ladyteruki

i agree but i am worried that it ruins the vibe of the whole world. just now they seem to all flow together nicely. i am worried that rock/metal will be too jarring.

Stewby

Can’t wait to see the antique store. I loved the music town lot

Heather Kiser

gym... rocky, something with a beat so if you are dance-exercising, you can use it to move to. although i am not sure how angsty music would work with the rest of the game as it seems pretty chill. maybe a nice balance?? a bit like the white stripes seven nation army, maybe acoustic.

Stewby

Gosh they're so great. All very different and unique yet immediately recognizable as a Paralives vibe. I've listened to it three times now and can't pick a fave 😅 (though I love L'Armoire's nod to Sims 1). Also: I can't get over the fact that there's bouquets WRAPPED IN PAPER in buckets outside the flower shop...such an incredible detail.

Rosa Leonie de Haas

I'm torn between loving the music for the flower shop and the café! Andrei, it's easy to see how much love you pour into your music every time you make a post. To answer your other question, the gym absolutely needs metal music I think.

~Cathy~

The songs are so good and it’s quite special to have a personalized song per shop, I love that! 😊 the barbershop is also my favorite! Does this mean then that we will be able to enter all of these 5 business? 😁 In regards to your question, I guess that all town lots that we can enter could have its own music. But I would look forward to personalized music to anything related to hospitality (restaurants, cafes, hotel - im really looking forward to have some hotel/accommodation career)

CasTei

Wowwwwwwwww

lilblox

This is so lovely and unexpected. Shop themes are not something you see much in this type of life-sim, but it brings such a nice feeling of place and character. Love it! The L’Armoire theme really hit that The Sims 1 nostalgia for me as well.

Oddface

I love the logic and ideas behind every track. It makes it even more wonderful

Una_simple_ kpoper

The clothing shop is my favorite, just something about bossa nova fits life sim games.

Tristan

Loved the first one! Love the idea of different kind of music in each store. I’m excited to hear the music for the gym too 👏

Flinka

They all sound so good but the barbershop one and the café are my favorites!

Tinsley

Amazing work, as Always!

Cece Lazul

Awesome work, love the music. Gives the good vibes. Question regarding this, will we be able to change the music of the shops like for example clothing shops to that music found in malls and outlets whether classical or modern?

Julio Saliba

All of them
