Paralives Delay Announcement + Live Mode Gameplay Streams

Hi, Alex here.

Unfortunately, we had to make the difficult decision to delay the release. We are truly sorry for the last-minute announcement. After thoughtful consideration, we feel it’s best for the game and the community. This year, we ran many playtests with friends and fans, and we were confident that we could improve the game enough in time for December. In the lead-up to Early Access release, we broadened our playtests with a more varied playerbase, and the latest feedback we received made us realize the game isn’t up to the standard we wanted it to meet for release. Players enjoy the flexibility and the customization of the Paramaker and Build Mode. However, there are still impactful bugs in the Live Mode and a lack of activities to do in the town, which dampened the enjoyment of the players, and we feel it is necessary to work on these before delivering the product to the community.

I started this project wanting it to be a fresh and indie take on the doll-house life simulation genre, which had not been tackled by many game developers. I attribute this partly to the fact that a project like Paralives is a colossal task. Life sims are really 3 games in one: an advanced and flexible build mode, a greatly customizable character creator and a complex life simulation mode. Over the last 6 years of development, starting with 2-3 developers for the first years, to growing to an average team size of only 10 people, we had to alternate long stretches of development between these 3 parts of the game. We are so proud of what we have built, but now, we just need a bit more time to polish the simulation part of the game. This would ensure Paralives offers a great first experience when it launches, making players come back for every exciting free update and expansion that we will put out afterwards.

The new Early Access release date is May 25, 2026. We have updated our detailed roadmap (paralives.com/roadmap) with what we will be improving over the coming months, with a focus on fixing important issues and improving the first-time user experience. This will ensure that more players will be happy with the state of the game at launch when comparing it to other great life simulation games that sparked everyone’s love for the genre.

On Tuesday, November 25, at noon EDT, we will stream 45 minutes of uninterrupted live mode gameplay on our YouTube channel to show the current state of the game, the various gameplay features and explain what we will be improving before launch. We plan on keeping you all updated with streams and videos leading up to the new release date. We remain fully committed to making a quality and innovative game with the support of the community and to updating it for years to come after release. We’re beyond grateful for your continuous support, and it means the world to our small team of passionate developers!

How Does the Delay Affect our Patreon?

Patreon will remain active until the new Early Access release date. Your feedback has been so incredibly helpful, and we will keep updating you each week with exclusive Patreon posts. We are deeply thankful for all the support you have given us. While we totally understand and apologize for the fact that it must be shocking to learn about the delay, we really believe that this decision will allow us to truly deliver a game that matches what you Patrons deserve.

Regarding the Patreon rewards, a few of them that are already closed (highlighted below) will remain closed, but the others will stay open and claimable by existing and new Patrons.

The rewards that are closed are highlighted in red. If you already unlocked these rewards, you will still get them, no worries!

As we have started recently, we will do exclusive streams every couple of weeks for all Patrons on Discord and share them in a Patreon post afterwards. This new formula will replace the Discord dev chat (Ancient tier reward) because it reaches more Patrons and we can use the opportunity to answer more questions and collect feedback during the stream or in the comment section of the Patreon post when we publish the replay video.

Rewatch This Week’s Live Mode Stream

⬆️🎥 This Tuesday, we did a stream on Discord for Patrons only, and you can watch the replay above (please don’t share it outside of Patreon) 🔐

It showcases the current state of the live mode, interesting gameplay features that Paralives has and also, in all transparency, some bugs that we are currently working on. As mentioned earlier, we are planning to do another similar stream but publicly this time, and it will take place on YouTube on Tuesday, November 25, at noon EDT.

Closing Note

Again, thanks so much for making this game possible. We will keep working very hard to provide the solid gameplay experience that you deserve when Paralives launches on May 25th, 2026. Please share your thoughts below, and we are happy to read and answer any questions you might have.

Alex and the whole team <3

Paralives Delay Announcement + Live Mode Gameplay Streams

Comments

To be honest, I prefer having a working live mode with a few bugs rather than one with lots of them, so I agree with this decision even though it's very hard to do, it had to be done considering the (sorry) current state of the live mode. Also shout for Alex & the fellow devs for keeping the progress going 💚

wilsontulus

Pls paramaker demo, i am sad but given how its been canceled so close to the due date i think the community deserves a little something. Then later a build mode demo. Take in consideration that we have been excited abou this gale for a while and that it is a bit disappointing to learn this at this stage though its the best decision. The demo, even if it takes ‘’away’’ time, to me help maintain trust with the futur players and at least not leave us empty handed for 5 months that could get delayed again

sofst

Honestly you guys are doing a great job but I do think after seeing the live mode a delay is the right decision. There are really good bones here and I'm sure it's going to be a great game when ready

Jacalynn

could paramaker demo be possible before end of the year or early next year? so players could have something to try xD? just asking <3

Osby,ossisims

I have to admit that I'm very sad to hear this. I've been going through a bit of a rough time lately, and waiting for Paralives was one thing that was giving me something positive to think about. That being said, after seeing the live mode stream, I think you made the right choice. I personally would have been more than happy to play in that state, but I know a lot of people would not have the tolerance for some of those bugs. As hard as it is, I'd rather the game succeed in the long run, and hopefully this will help make this happen.

Aster Lea

I am sad about the delay but do understand why and you have my complete support.

Karenann

Hey team, I know you've firmly decided against releasing a Paramaker demo to avoid taking precious time away from polishing the Life Mode. I totally respect that focus. However, I wanted to suggest that releasing a demo might actually be the best move to make up for the release date delay. Games like The Sims 4 and InZOI have shown that a standalone character creator demo can generate massive hype and countless hours of player engagement even before the full game is out. Releasing ours would do a lot to restore player confidence, reassuring everyone that the game not only exists but is already in a great and promising state. Maybe feedback like this and other community requests for a demo could encourage you to reconsider the decision.

Nocher Chubuk

thank you for making the best decision in such a difficult situation <3 as i see it, the alternatives would have been: (1) release the game in a state you are no longer confident in after your most recent playtester feedback, and most likely give players a negative first impression of the live mode, risking them giving up on the game completely (2) ignore playtester feedback outright and put your head in the sand about the state of the live mode, which would lead to the same outcome (3) spend the next weeks in a massive crunch trying to get ready in time, burning out the team and potentially still falling short, all of which would be terrible for morale and the future of the game (4) reschedule the EA with less or no transparency, or delaying it indefinitely, which would be a pretty bad look (5) give up on the game entirely because you hit a scary roadblock. all the people complaining and shouting 'scam' are imagining a magical alternative: (6) somehow improve the live mode a lot, in only three weeks, without pushing the team into burnout. if you thought you could do that, *obviously* you would! deciding on such a big delay is a terrifying decision, especially with how many eyes are on this indie game right now. it is obvious to many of us that you did not make this decision lightly, and we trust you know the capacities and capabilities and needs of the team. i hope you know how to keep yourselves safe from the awful corners of the internet, and that for every hateful voice out there there is someone in your corner rooting for this amazing game with you <3 like many other supporters, i have also taken vacation days for the december release - i will take inspiration from the Paralives team and now instead use those days to work on something positive, maybe i'll volunteer in my community, or craft some handmade presents for my loved ones, or maybe just share a nice drawing on the internet to brighten someone's day <3. small things matter. this cozy life sim game matters. be kind to each other and use your time to create something beautiful.

Sehrys

Disappointed about the delay but I understand. I'm sure you will but I hope to see more variety in animation added. I was getting sims 4 flashbacks with that swipe animation haha.

AC

I watched the stream on Tuesday, and I was not disappointed, rather pleasantly surprised! It made me wanted to buy the game even more! So I’m surprised about the delay. We knew it would be bugs, so they were expected.. From what I watched, the game is ready for Early Access in my opinion

Flinka

iirc you can choose between multiple

SirStruffle

I wish you didn’t have always pick the wants yourself just for a bit more surprise factor

Latisha -

I got no issue with this. Roadmap link isnt working leads to a 404.

Camy

I've been following this game for 5 1/2 years, so I suppose a few more months won't kill me! 😛 I'm sure this wasn't an easy call to make, but I understand the desire to release things when they're ready (or closer to ready). I always look forward to new updates being posted here & on YouTube, and definitely looking forward to being able to play (or at least build stuff in) the game myself, no matter how many bugs there are!

Courtney S

Wasn't the white lines censor meant to be used when parafolks are naked insead of the blurry squares?

Renikee

I completely understand, and I would rather the game launch in a more complete state than risk a launch with to much backlash. It took courage to admit the game needs more time, and I respect that. That said, as someone who has been supporting you guys for years, I really feel like I need to see a demo at this point. I know you've said you don't have the bandwidth. But something tangible would reassure me about continuing to fund the game, and I'm sure others would find it helpful too.

Brooke H

I can’t say I’m not disappointed, but I’ve been playing video games long enough that a delay isn’t that big of a deal to me, especially if it results in a better game and better player experience. Shoot, these days, so many games either get pushed out unfinished, and remain that way, or devs don’t listen to feedback (or only listen to the good feedback), so in my eyes, I can’t be upset because we need more of this, honestly. And I’ve been supporting this long, a few more months won’t hurt. Thanks for testing your game with more varied testers to ensure better player satisfaction, deciding to work on the game some more, and communicate that to us.

BooDotBoo .

I'm just sad that I am not able to play this game on December but all good things take time and to those who wait and I am still very much looking forward to this game. Me working in tech knows that these things can happen, it is unavoidable no matter how precise you followed your development life cycle, it is okay. I know how difficult this decision has been for the entire team especially the pressure of players eagerly waiting for this and hungry for a new life sim. Just want to let you know that we understand, we appreciate the transparency and your effort in making sure we get a good experience and good product worth our time and investment. Having a small team working on such a large complex game it is understandable and we are rooting for all of you and you'll be able to deliver us a good game. 🙏

iCharles_24

Ough the shock, I wasn't expecting a delay. The decision must have been hard to make, and I know how sad this must be for the whole team, who really wanted to avoid this. My heart goes out to you, and I'll be waiting for the release with just as much excitement and enthusiasm as I have had for the past six years. Sending you all the love and rooting for you for the next months of work, I believe in you!

Candle

I want to say that you guys should still be very proud of all you have accomplished. The town looks amazing and there are lots of things that I'm sure were extremely difficult to achieve. Like buildings being so closed together and being able to load multiple of them at the same time. Don't forget that the Paramaker and the Build Mode are also extremely impressive and polished. You all can do it, good luck and thanks for the transparency!

Rodrigo Escribano

I'm so sad! I was so looking forward to it but you know what? That just means the game will be better.

theo

Please I just want to play the build mode thats all I want

Vi

Please I just

Vi

GTA 6 was just delayed last week and now this. It's like I'm used to that already. Anyway, I'm not really disappointed. I mean, it's your first game release and you got to show a good first impression and that requires a lot of polishing and improvement, especially on the things to do in town. One question, when you announced the original Early Access release date and after that, did any of you had a slightest of gut feeling that the game might need to be delayed at some point or were you really 100% confident until now? Sending lots of love! ❤️❤️❤️

Stermatical

I'm heartbroken by the decision but I completely understand it. You can only get one first impression and the expectations for this one are very high. After watching the livestream there are definitely some areas that need big improvement, like pathfinding and hitching when loading new buildings. But I have complete faith in the team to solve it. I will still be there day 1. <3

Rodrigo Escribano

Respected and appreciated decision! Although it's difficult to delay, it's necessary for the wonderful early access release to come! I've seen so many games drop the ball, release too soon, and people are disappointed at the first impression - which makes such an impact! Much love y'all. All will work out in the end. ♥️

Opa

I'm so incredibly sorry to hear this news! I'm trying to imagine how the developers must be feeling - you're probably even more bummed out than the rest of us. It was only three weeks until Early Access! What you showed us in the last stream was truly inspiring. Yes, there were a ton of bugs. But after six years of development and six years of waiting, I was actually happy those bugs were there, because it meant the game itself actually exists! I would have loved to play Paralives even with those bugs because I absolutely adore it. I've been shouting about it to everyone I know. EVERYONE NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT PARALIVES! Everyone needs to know about the incredible work you have done and are doing! Yes, the bugs were abundant, but I actually FELL IN LOVE with them! I was happily giggling when people in the chat were spamming: MAGGIE! MAGGIE! MAGGIE! MAGGIE AGAIN! MAGGIE HAS APPEARED ONCE MORE! I was celebrating right along with them. MY HONEY MAGGIE WAS ON SCREEN! I'll get to meet her when I play, right? YES! I thoroughly enjoyed the last stream, and I'm equally heartbroken to read about the delay. I totally get why the delay happened. I hope you are all doing well and feel encouraged, not upset, by the necessity of the postponement. I want to play Paralives because it is MY GAMING LOVE! Since 2019, when you started releasing videos on YouTube, people have been catching the amazing vibe you’ve been putting out. When the announcement of Maggie's debut happened- no. when THE SHADOW OF MAGGIE APPEARED, my heart started racing, just like the hearts of all the other viewers and future players. I remember the initial backlash because Maggie was called "clunky" and "ugly." Those people completely missed the point! And I still lovingly rewatch Meggi’s first appearance. Maggie, Maggie, Maggie! And then Sebastian! The very existence of the videos featuring them gave us hope. I'm so grateful for the hard work you are putting into this game. You are doing incredible things! Maybe no one even realizes HOW incredible the things you are creating are yet. I wanted to see Paralives, bugs and all, exactly as it was in the stream. I wanted to play it even knowing there would be nothing much in it. I wanted to buy a license for myself, my dear husband, and my best friend, because you guys deserve the support. Some people wrote that they would only buy the game when it was more "content-filled." Nonsense. This is MY GAME. This is the game for EVERYONE who is on Patreon. EVERYONE who has been following Paralives for six years. It has completely captured my heart, and I think I can no longer be objective about it! It has become family, and I can't tear it away from my heart. Thank you for all your hard work. I understand why you made the decision to delay, and you are absolutely doing the right thing. But I am ready for Paralives as it is right now. I know I’m asking for a lot: I beg you to release at least a DEMO version of the Paramaker and Build Mode. I know it's probably better not to release a demo if you aren't confident in it! But I am ready for any Paralives. I want the characters flying through the air, getting stuck in textures; I want to laugh about it and lovingly await your updates. This won't happen now! But I will patiently wait for the moment you decide the game is ready. Thank you.

nezitise.nezna.nezit

Pros: 1) I like the newspaper feature, it makes it feel like your Paras are a part of their world 2) I like the together card system, it feels very organic and it has a lot of potential 3) I like the changing discounts at the stores, kind of makes it feel like the shop owners are generous and it seems like a good way to acquire furniture early game 4) LOVE careers 5) The RPG elements present feel pretty well implemented and it makes the game feel more alive. 6) I love that the wants reset at the end of the day, it makes it feel as if the Paras aren't clinging to old wants without progression.

Caldo :3cc

Wait, you listened to your players? You actually changed plans based on their feedback? I didn't think that was allowed! Much as I want to get my hands on the Paramaker, I'm very glad you're paying attention to the quality of gameplay. Thanks for all that your team is doing.

Carmen Carter

I'll be honest - while it's disappointing to have to wait a few more months to play, I was definitely apprehensive after watching the live mode stream on Discord on Tuesday. I was hesitant to publicly criticise it, because I know how incredibly hard it must be to build a game like this from the ground up, but… yeah. It wasn’t just one or two bugs. Between the pathfinding issues, Paras getting stuck, and actions becoming locked, things were looking a bit rough around the edges. So I completely understand the decision to postpone the launch, even considering it was early access and bugs were expected. It makes sense to take the time to polish things properly. On the bright side, the game looks and sounds amazing, even if the gameplay isn't fully worked out yet! The excitement to play it hasn't lessened for me! I remember, back in the day, before the launch of one of The Sims games (I can't remember which one), EA released a free standalone tool so people could try out creating Sims ahead of release. Would something like that be possible for Paralives in December? The Para Maker and build mode seem much more polished than live mode right now, and it would be a great way to keep us entertained until the new launch date :)

DaveLPR

I would LOVE to just fool around with a Paramaker, even if the paras don't actually do anything.

Carmen Carter

I have one more semester of graduate school and now I will be able to play the game with the stress of papers behind me. I've also been here for years...couldn't agree more.

ziggy:)

keeping it short: it‘s okay! :)

kriegi

I have been following Paralives development since 2019. I've seen the amazing work you all have done with Build Mode and Paramaker, and I know we'll see the same quality and innovation in the Live Mode given the time it needs. After all these years of anticipation, I appreciate you all dedicating more time to working on and polishing Live Mode before early release (even though I was secretly planning to not progress the world at all and spend most of my time in Paramaker and Build Mode recreating my favorite families from my forever world in preparation for the full release anyway lol). I am very excited for the year ahead, there so many updates and improvements to look forward to (lifecycle playthru hint hint wink wink lol)! Thank you for your continued transparency and keep up the great work dev team!!

ziggy:)

---Uhh, incoming long post / thread. I'm going to leave my criticisms in the replies of this----- Hello! I think the team has made the right call on this one. Though it's a bit disappointing to have to wait a little longer, especially so close to the initial launch date, it's completely understandable to let the game bake a little longer, especially considering the amount of bug fixes needed to make gameplay as smooth as possible, as well as the implementation of certain features, seeing as testers felt that live mode needed more activities. I've been following this game since the initial window scaling video, and it's grown so much. This is a beast of an undertaking, especially from a small indie team. The first title of the franchise comparable to this one took nine years to make, and even then, the company was acquired by a AAA studio six years into development. Though technology has advanced since then, it still doesn't change that a life simulation with complex building, live mode, and a character creator must be incredibly hard to make. If the early access released in its current state, it may not garner the same audience or praise it would if it were released in a more polished state. Six more months without Paralives is not that big a deal. The time will pass anyway. A late game is better than a buggy one.

Caldo :3cc

After seeing the livestream, Im so glad you all decided to delay. It definitely needs a little more time in the oven. There's some great foundation here that I know with a little more time can be made into something amazing. Game development is difficult especially with a life simulator. There are so many facets to life that needs to be captured. Life stages, events, relationships, death and the like. Its why the Sims has dominated and stood alone in the genre for the past two decades - if it was an easy feat, it would have been done already. Take your time devs! I will be there on launch day ready to play!!

bonkybon

I'm currently on a seasonal job and a hiatus from the internet (for my own mental health), so I'm glad to be able to play the Early Access just after my return home. Take all the time you need - I've been here for years... what's a bit longer?

Roe B.

I was in favor of Nintendo delaying ACNH so they could release a better game with less crunch, and I’m in favor of Paralives doing the same. Good games take time.

Swampboot

😭😭😭 but also you gotta do what you gotta do

Dr. Eggman

I completely understand and honestly i for one am a bit relieved too. I loved what i saw on Tuesday (the together cards system is AMAZING and it was great to see it in action) but i thought even for early access, there was a bit of polish still required and I wasn’t sure if there would be enough time (e.g. the lack of certain animations, particularly when sitting down, was very noticeable). It’s very clear you’re all about the details and want to deliver an amazing experience even for early access so i trust this is the best decision

Another Plumbob

while i am a bit dissapointed, i understand. plus.. it comes out on my birthday month, so im not too upset about that. 😊 i will continue to support my soon to be favorite life sim!

Pedro López

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to watch this game be developed, and for delaying when things didn't feel right. From one dev to another, I know this feeling, too. But the whole team will feel better for it when release does come. ❤️

Cynethryth

Is there any plan to release a demo of the paramaker or building tools before the new release time? I really understand the reason why you guys pushed back the EA, but doing it less than a month before the original date is just really disappointing. I took off work just to play the game :(

S. Sunshine Cooper

Thank you guys for all of your hard work. I can only imagine how hard it was to make this decision, but we appreciate your honesty and transparency! 🫶🏼 I did want to ask if there was a possibility for a demo of the paramaker and build mode? I have no idea how much work would need to go into something like that, but i think it is something that a lot of us would love to try out and give feedback on! It’s been such a joy to watch this game come to life. Keep up the awesome work!! 😌

Cor

I’m reminding myself that the only reason I’m disappointed by the news is because I’m so excited for what you guys are building together and I believe in the team. Like many others, I’ll continue to follow updates like always. We’ve waited till now, another few months won’t hurt. Trust your gut, Paralives Team! Plus, it’s in my birthday month now 🎂😈

Nick C

It's a shame about the delay, but totally understandable. While watching the broadcast on Tuesday, I thought (Wow, so many bugs!), but then I thought (but the game is in early access, so there's no reason to complain). I want you to know that we are here with you. I feel a lot of dedication and love from you, the developers, in delivering something fantastic, and I'm very proud and happy with everything I've seen so far. I would like to contribute with some suggestions. 1 - When a Para is walking and then goes down or up the stairs, a pause is visible. Could it be made more fluid to seem more human? 2 - When opening the refrigerator or oven, would it be possible for the Para to open it with their hands instead of the object opening by itself? 3 - I felt the Paras walking on the street in a somewhat robotic way. They walk to the middle of the street to be able to turn. I observed several things when I saw the video, but I ended up forgetting them, haha. But don't be upset, it's not criticism, just observations from a fan to the team. Kisses, and you guys are awesome! 🇧🇷🇧🇷

Estefani Oliveira

I really appreciate that you guys want to make the best game you can, I was a bit concerned with all the bugs in the last stream, and I'm glad that you guys are dedicating your time to making this the best game you can, even if the launch is just early access. I know many people are disappointed with this decision, but I know that you only have one shot at releasing this game for the first time, and I think it would have let people down far more if they had bought the game and found it difficult to play due to bugs. That's a surefire way to kill engagement. I have been supporting Paralives for 3 years, and I am happy to continue doing so for as long as it takes for the team to get it where you guys need it to be.

Carol J Pelizzari

While I am as disappointed as anyone, I am glad that the team is taking the time needed to make the release date as great as possible!! Seeing all the bugs in the live mode stream did worry me about how functional the game would be.. I’d rather wait the 6 months and have a usable game than get a broken one in a few weeks!!!!! All the love to the dev team as I’m sure this was a difficult decision! ❤️

Erin Cook

Hi everyone! Hope you’re all doing great. I won’t lie — the news made me a bit sad, especially because that day is a holiday here, so it would’ve been the perfect excuse to play all day. But honestly, I really appreciate your transparency. It’s always better to take the time you need than to release something with issues that could cause trouble later on. Thank you so much for all your hard work. Sending you lots of love and encouragement — I know this isn’t an easy choice for you either. Love you guys, greetings from Chile! 💚

Thamara

This. I’m not mad that they’ve decided the game needs more time in the oven. I completely understand that. I have zero issues with that. But I am very disappointed with the timeline and how the delay has been handled. This was pretty close to release. I did the same with time off from work, sorry to hear!

Courtney Cayo

While I was excited for the release in December, I'm not disappointed that you have delayed the release because I'd much rather wait and have more pleasant first experience of the game. When the last sims game first came out, they didn't even have toddler or pools, and towards a loyal fan, it felt disrespectful. This, the delay, is respectful. Yes, it's not a lot of notice BUT you are responding to feedback. You will get people who unsubscribe, thrash-talk, people who choose to view this in a negative light. Please do not listen to them or let them discourage you. You're doing good work, keep going and keep your head up. May will be here sooner than we know.

Íris Sól Þrastardóttir

Dear developers please, pleaaase, feel free and take your time!! This game is so much precious that I can't stand the idea of it being unfairly criticized by the general public... Since the team doesn't feel confident enough for now, it's completely understandable to wait a little longer! Many thanks for your transparency, I wish for Paralives to succeed ❤️✨️

Millena Xavier

I’m trying not to be too disappointed by this, but I really, really wish you had notified us sooner. The “What to expect from Early Access” video you released last week felt so promising. I scheduled my yearly vacation time during the week of the launch so I could really get into the game. I was looking forward to building some houses and Paras.

Hell’s Cherub

That live mode stream was rough y'all made the right choice.

Bitsof7

I responded on FB earlier which I came across first and pasting here too, and my sentiments remain the same. ❤️ Hello Alex, I'm glad you and the team expanded play testing Paralives before releasing for EA, and in return delayed EA based on feedback from the players who participated. This is a good thing and a very important step to ensure QA, which should always be key to a game's true success. Thank you and your team for making the hard decision to work on game content more extensively to be tested as well, and not just game mechanics before releasing for EA, and letting us know. The Paralives team continues to be transparent in all they do which shows integrity in their commitment to the development of Paralives and to us, the players. I'll continue to support your dream team as long as allowed, and I look forward to continuing the highly creative Paralives journey to EA and final game release. ✨️

tey711

I honestly feel like you guy’s are doing a amazing job, but please don’t feel like you have to make the most “ perfect “ high standard game to please everyone, because even if you make do make the most perfect game there will always be people no matter what bicker and complain because they don’t understand how hard it is to develop a game especially a life sim game. I been a huge fan since 2019 of you guy’s and I’m confident that you guys pushed back the date to focus on live-mode I honestly didn’t see any issues with live-mode except the bugs but I felt those could easily be fixed in no time, I am very excited to play paralives in may and will always be a supporter no matter what. but don’t allow people to peer pressure you guys into doing this, that, this just because they want the game to be “ perfect “ no game is perfect, every game have bugs, and most of all I wish people would stop trying to make paralives out to be a “ sims copy “ when that’s not what paralives is. I’m so glad you guy’s will now be doing livestreams for us to follow development I can’t wait to tune in and watch all those livestreams as this will keep me occupied until paralives come out so I’m very excited about this new approach 🥰good luck you guys.

Solaris

I've followed the development of this game from the beginning, and you've all worked so hard on the game. I'm still looking forward to the release in May 2026. :)

Christina Ozeki

💕 sending love

Annie Laster

I really want to see more live mode with multiple paras. Pregnant paras and children and teens. Differences in life stages are the most important to live mode besides your open world. Hopefully we will get more flavor and updates to that.

Annie Laster

Although I'm a bit sad at the delay I really appreciate your transparency. With enough time this game will become the best version of itself 🫶

tivicloud

some thoughts on the livestream now: LOVE the newspaper! the pathfinding definitely needs to be worked on, and it seems like things get a little bugged when everything's sped-up? it would be nice if when you're talking to someone it showed their relationship label. i feel like there isn't enough incentive (or any really) to select wants, it should just give you one by default if you don't pick one in time. Also, it'd be great to get the camera to follow the Para not just focus :)

I’m a a little sad because i’ve been so EXCITED i can’t even STAND it. but ill be here waiting patiently and i hope you guys have some space to breathe now so u can put in more love and care into Paralives

Zoe Amelia

If we can wait 50 years for GTA 7. We can wait another 6 months for Paralives lmao. Can't wait to watch this video after 🙌

I kinda forGoT

I'm not too upset about the delay, as I had to work that day anyway 😂 But I completely understand not wanting to put out something that you feel isn't quite ready, and we want the Devs to be satisfied before we are! Much love to you guys as you continue to press forward in your journey to making Paralives a staple in the simulation game genre! You got this and I hope this community is rocking with you no matter what. I know I am 💕

ZLoves212

Looking forward to may 25!! Best of luck working on the game❣️

OwlAndy

I'm sad but honestly when I watched the Tuesday livestream I was kinda not into the whole Paras clipping into stuff. It was REALLY distracting and gave me a negative feeling that it's gonna make players think the game is *too barebones to play on Dec 8. So I'm sort of glad y'all chose the "let's put a bit more polish and content" into the Early Access because indeed first impressions do matter a LOT. I'm still gonna keep supporting the game because I really do see something unique and special about it(also I love supporting human made art and I think this game is a work of art and could develop into something beautiful), and I hope the Early Access is a success! Also can't wait for the YouTube livestream (Discord is really bad if you have internet connection problems, YouTube is better at livestreaming stuff)!

Thabiso Ptk❤️🖤🤍💚

I completely understand why you had to delay and I really think that was the right decision. I hope that you will be able to relax a bit now that the pressure has reduced. We don't want you to overwork yourselves, that wouldn't benefit anyone. I've only discovered Paralives in August and I completely fell in love with the game. I think you are making a really awesome and wholesome game and I can't wait to continue to support you in this journey and give you feedback ! Also big hug to everyone on the team and please don't let the negativity touch you, there are a lot of people out there that fully support and love you and the game. You are a wonderful team that deserves the world. To other patrons, you are a wonderful community that I'm grateful to have discovered. It's so great to talk to you and the devs on Discord ! Stardust

Pauline Blot

We completely understand about the delay, Alex. Yes, I am bummed, but at the same time, we’d rather have a game that is playable than have a broken game. Keep up the good work, team, and we’re looking forward to May 25!! 💕

Samster

It's a tough decision to make and I'm pretty sure it came after hosting this live stream. Please give them some grace. It's the first game they've ever made and this is the first time it's been delayed. 6 months will fly by, I promise.

Rin_Riots

I am disappointed but also glad the team is taking time to make improvements. I know splitting resources to package a demo will pull time and development away from improving live mode, but based on the consensus in the comments it does sound like a slightly buggier early access release in May 2025 may be worth it if it means retaining people's interest and consumer confidence with a Dec 2025 Paramaker demo (and/or build mode demo). Not sure how the legality/numbers of this would work but perhaps you could get a volunteer within the industry (with a boatload of NDAs lol) to help package the demo? Not sure if you already have a legal team onboarded to support that or not since I know the development team is quite lean. In any case, I'm sure you'll try to make the best decision for your team and for your product. I'll still be here with my monthly contribution and will look out for more updates, but I do strongly recommend considering the multiple requests for a Steam demo to tide folks over in the meantime. (who knows, you might get more supporters on Patreon out of it!)

YourCheezyPatron

We've always said we should give the paralives team all the time they need. And I still believe so, do all you need to make the game fun. At the end of the day, we just want a fun game.

Ghislain Pedro

Bro it ain’t that serious. Give them time 🤣 the game will come out eventually and it will be even better after the delay.

Danny

Thanks so much Cassia for understanding! It really was a hard decision to make. We will be showing new stuff in our Patreon post as well as keeping some secrets for release :)

Alex Massé

Thank you Rolo A demo would be really nice. However, preparing and packaging a demo takes times and right now, we're focused on improving the live mode

Alex Massé

Thank you Amanda!

Alex Massé

Thank you Trisha for understanding!!

Alex Massé

Thanks so much Stewby!!

Alex Massé

Thanks so much Mohammad for your message!

Alex Massé

Thank you Ash

Alex Massé

Thanks so much Nelly!

Alex Massé

Thank you! A demo would be great. However, preparing and packaging a demo takes times and right now, we're focused on improving the live mode

Alex Massé

Could other families buy and live on the lower floors of Jordão's house/apartment, as if it were a different apartment (a different lot) similar to the apartment lots in City Living from The Sims 4?

Alexsandro Gnovatto

Thank you!

Alex Massé

Thanks so much for your kind message! It's really appreciated! We do feel very proud of the game and we'll get to the release soon enough!

Alex Massé

Thank you for understanding! If you have already unlocked the higher tier rewards, you will still get them, even if you lower your tier or cancel your pledge. If you have more questions, feel free to send a DM!

Alex Massé

Thank you!! We chose a monday because we want to have the whole work week to help players if they have issues or do a patch to fix important bugs that people might have

Alex Massé

I'm a bit sad about the delay, but I understand. Over all the game does seem fun and interesting from what has been shown. I have been following the development since the very beginning, I can wait 6 more months. I'm still very excited for the game and fully believe in this team.

Carelle

Is delaying the game because it’s not ready really “spitting in everyone’s faces”? Would you rather them give you a game that’s full of bugs? Game dev is hard and takes time!!

Daria Hammond

Thank you!!

Alex Massé

Thanks so much for understanding!

Alex Massé

I'm sorry <3

Alex Massé

Thank you!! We decided on May 25 because we estimated that we can fix the current issues in 4-5 months. Also, we wanted to launch before June because there are a lot of game announcements in June every year and we prefer to release before that so that the press have time to cover our release Andrei will keep on working on improving live mode sounds, yes! The pitch slider is still considered but it's more of a feature that can be done by a programmer and they are all focusing on improving core live mode features right now so the pitch slider will probably have to wait a bit

Alex Massé

Why so late? Couldn't you see that coming earlier? I already took some days off just to have time to play as soon as the game releases. I understand your decision, but I don't understand why you waited so long to tell us...

Laura

Thank you for your openness. I appreciate your work and would like to see and play a product which makes you feel proud and confident. I trust you and the play testers and will of course support you to the very end. Thank you for not pushing a game on the market just for money or to keep the December promise. This is way more respectful treatment than other companies which hardly explained any decision. I am looking forward and welcome your decision of sharing more gameplay public. All the best for you great work and the even greater team 💚💚

Liesel Strick

It sucks hearing about the game being delayed, but I’ve been waiting five years for this, so a six-month delay isn't the end of the world. As always, thanks for your transparency and good luck with everything moving forward.

literary_warrior

While obviously the delay is a bit of a bummer, I can definitely understand why you’re pushing it back. So excited to get my hands on it in May!! Some initial thoughts/comments specifically from the livestream: 1. I think it would be nice if eventually there’s a Para at the register in the stores. They wouldn’t have to do much besides stand there and wave at the para when they come in, and it makes the shop feel more alive. 2. I think the shops should be closed by a certain time! I feel like you shouldn’t be able to go buy furniture at 2:00 AM 😅. 3. In some other games (e.g. Wylde Flowers) shops are closed on certain days. That might be a bit of a fun feature. 3. I think it would be nice if the paras had some sort of wave animation when they first start talking! 4. I think it would be nice if the paras were a little bit more emotive when they’re feeling a certain way — I think the animations are a little subtle and are harder to pick up on from a distance. 5. Love the morning newspaper feature!!! 6. I think that eventually for the “Go to Work” interaction, maybe we see the para get in a car and drive away. Or maybe we see them walk through the front door of their work building. Same goes for when they leave work. 7. Not sure if this is planned, but — part time jobs?? 8. I think eventually some pop-up interactions at while they’re at work would be fun! Also, a totally random idea that would obviously be beyond the early access release: events in the town square! On certain occasions/holidays, the town square gets dressed up and there are new activities and things to see/do. I’m thinking Christmas market, farmer’s market on Sundays, the possibilities are endless and I think it would be SUPER fun. I think for the public livestream, it would be good to show a little bit more variety as to what the game currently looks like. Maybe have them go to work on one day, but then the next have them go exploring/doing something else. Or maybe you could have more than one para in the household, where one goes to work and one doesn’t? Just some thoughts!! Thanks guys 😁😁

Daria Hammond

Thank you for understanding and for the support! This is exactly what we thought when making this hard decision!

Alex Massé

Thanks so much for understanding!

Alex Massé

Thank you Guy!!

Alex Massé

Thank you! A demo would be great. However, preparing and packaging a demo takes times and right now, we're focused on improving the live mode We are hard at work on the live mode and confident with the new release date! Oops, thank you, I just adjusted the roadmap to include that task before the Early Access release now

Alex Massé

Unsubscribing. In May you'll find another excuse to delay. Fuck Christmas. Fuck Hope.

Donald Luse

On the one hand I'm really disappointed cos I was looking forward to playing this during the long winter evenings but, on the other hand Alex, please take your time and make it something you are really proud of. We can wait... even if it is impatiently. 😊

Mysteri

I didn’t expect this from you. Two weeks before the release, and you just shamelessly spit in everyone’s face like that. Unfollowed

Ruslana Ivasenko

Thank you! We want to make sure we have time to polish the live mode and validate with playtesters monthly that the game is improving and adjust accordingly so that we have the best launch possible in May

Alex Massé

Also just wanted to say in response to the Livestream vid: absolutely loved Jordan's house, the way the morning light came in and moved around, the gull sounds (!!), seeing townies out & about, the evening lamp light, the smoothness of the open world, the newspaper. I'm so excited for next year.

Rosa Leonie de Haas

I understand, I'm really sorry about the delay but we really feel that the extra time will allow more people to be happy with the state of the game at launch which will benefit the game in the long run. We are locked in on the release and we will launch the game no matter what happens A demo would be great. However, preparing and packaging a demo takes times and right now, we're focused on improving the live mode

Alex Massé

Merci Océane!

Alex Massé

Thank you Dawn for understanding!

Alex Massé

Maybe now you can figure out how to make the controls compatible for steam deck? 💕 Especially with the announcement of valves console I think it would be a good move! ☺️

Annie Laster

Thanks so much for your kind words!

Alex Massé

Thanks so much Inola! We'll be hard at work on the live mode!

Alex Massé

Thank you!!

Alex Massé

Thank you Kayleigh!!

Alex Massé

Unfortunately, we will keep working with paid playtesters only for now. The reason is that we can't give access to the game to Patrons before the release because Steam has a rule that prevents us from giving access to the game to people who have paid devs outside of Steam (like through Patreon)

Alex Massé

Thank you for the honesty and transparency! I'm still pretty astounded by the challenge the paralives team has taken on making a life sim as an indie studio. But I believe in you all and the project! As others have said look after yourselves and I hope development continues to be enjoyable! Look forward to playing! : )

Donny Miles

Thank you!

Alex Massé

Thank you! More videos like that is certainly something we are looking into

Alex Massé

I am proud of you guys for not selling yourselves short. Please take the time you need to get the game to a place where you can feel confident about the release. Don't let other's anger and disappointment get to you. It is better to delay the game and give us something we can really sink our teeth into instead of charging $40 for something flat and buggy. I completely understand the decision and have the utmost respect for the courage it took to reflect on the project as a whole. You're all so brave and are showing us how much you care about the fans and the game! Thank you paralives team! I have the date marked in my callendar and can't wait to see the polish you add before the early access release ♡.

Rin_Riots

Thanks so much <3 <3

Alex Massé

Honestly? Thank you for your transparency. My major concern was the live mode bugs. I’m just so glad you decided to be honest and give yourselves extra time to fix them and get the game up to standard instead caving to pressure and releasing a half arsed game. I’m honestly loving what I’m seeing so far and look forward to early access in May! 🙂

Jessika Raven

Thank you Tiffany!

Alex Massé

Yes, you can buy the various items in the shop, it's just that they are not discounted like the daily specials are

Alex Massé

I’m honestly glad you decided to delay. Going by the live mode stream, there are just too many bugs and general jank right now to make a decent first impression, even if the game has a lot going for it. Encountering a bug here and there is fine, but seeing them constantly will wear players down quickly, and the early-access label won’t change that. You made the right call. Best of luck polishing up the game!

Oddface

Thank you!!!

Alex Massé

Thanks so much for your message!!

Alex Massé

Thank you so much for understanding

Alex Massé

Agreed. We've already fixed the most of the bugs seen in the last livestream and we're hard at work on fixing other bugs and improving the live mode as a whole

Alex Massé

Thanks so much for your kind words and for understanding <3

Alex Massé

Thank so much Jan!

Alex Massé

Thank you! A demo would be great. However, preparing and packaging a demo takes times and right now, we're focused on improving the live mode

Alex Massé

this is 100% the best thing for the game. it is the quality of the finished product that matters, not rushing out a release to satisfy fans. i think of a game like stardew valley, created by one indie developer over the course of 12 years - and now 10 years later it has sold 40 million copies! a polished finished product will get you farther in the long run. and considering the biggest life sim on the market right now is consistently sloppy, rushed and overpriced, i think that care and attention to detail is going to set you apart. take all the time you need.

sophia sim

We will be focusing on live mode bug fixes and adding content and stuff to do around town

Alex Massé

We don't want people to be disappointed at launch because they won't come back to the game afterwards, even if we improve it. That's why we took the difficult decision to delay. We are confident to be able to reach a good quality level in the next coming months as most of the game is done but needs more polish

Alex Massé

Hugs to the whole team. It must not have been easy to make this decision, but you've made the wisest choice. These won't be easy months... I hope you're well and take care of your health first. With love, A.

Kantu

I'm so sorry to hear that, I wish you the best, take care of yourself We will be hard at work on the game to make sure you enjoy it when it releases and in the meantime, we will update you about our progress

Alex Massé

My father passed on Aug. 31st and not to sound dramatic or anything but after following for the past six years and joining the patreon earlier this year. I felt like I had something exciting to look forward to before the depression of the holidays hit harder than normal this year. I don't think you could have given me worst news.

Dhriana

If the game was realesed in december all the sales would have fix the issues and maybe they could have expanded the team.. 6 more months with the same small team...?

ezurah ya

I'm hoping this means more content will be in live mode and that's really important.

Annie Laster

Sad to hear but it seems like a good decision. Have you thought at all about making a game demo available like the Paramaker or the build mode?

Emelia39

This, after this delay I'm expecting those outside the Patreon wall to go back to calling the game a scam and may reduce faith in the May date, which could still ruin the release quite a bit. Them seeing more development public might help.

Dawn Kelley

I'm disappointed but I can understand. As a person who plays live mode heavily over the other two modes I'm looking forward to the improvements and additions you'll make. I'm still rooting for you guys, so keep up the good work!!

Jan

Big hug to the whole team. I can’t imagine how hard it must’ve been to make this decision, and how sad/disappointed you all might feel right now. We have been waiting for year, what’s a few extra months? Take the time to make this game as good as you think it deserves, I’m sure we will have lots of fun when time comes. Take care, treat yourself with some well-deserved cake, you all did great and I know you’ll keep working hard to deliver the best results in the end ‹𝟹

mar

When I watched the livestream, I was impressed with the gameplay but was concerned about the bugs, so I'm glad you're giving yourselves more time. There's a lot of eyes on Paralives, so it really is important to make a good first impression - people tend to be quite tough on Early Access games.

Robot

I watched the livestream. Honestly, you're making the right decision. It looks promising, but there were so many bugs interrupting the gameplay. This game really needs to be enjoyable from start, because the life sim players aren't forgiving. Many also lack computer literacy, making it difficult to find workarounds. I personally feel lucky that I'm able to support the game a little bit longer. Excited to see more livestreams. Big hugs to you guys. You're doing great. It might be a good idea to give more development updates for non-paterons as well. The YouTube livestream is a great idea. Maybe continuously highlight what part of the roadmap you're focusing on right now, without showing details. Uncertainty easily evolves into disappointment.

Evelina Bexell

We see the end and we're confident that we will reach the desired level of quality by May. Even if it's Early Access, we learned that people have a lot of expectations and if people are disappointed at launch, they won't play Paralives again later, even after new updates

Alex Massé

I support your decision with this! I want you all to be comfortable with releasing a game you've been developing for so long. I can absolutely wait 6 more months lol

Noelle

Thank you Clara!! Unfortunately, Steam has a rule that prevents us from giving access to the game to people who pay outside of Steam. We have thought about a demo but for now, we prefer to focus on improving the state of the game because preparing and packing a demo takes time

Alex Massé

Even though I am sad because it was around the corner, I also understand. The game needs to be in a good and playable state and also things to do especially for people's first impression. Good luck with working on the necessary stuff and I can't wait to see all the upcoming streams, posts and updates! <3 My hype and excitement will never leave and I will keep on supporting this project! :) <3

JustLikeMarkie

I trust you and the play testers. You have always been transparent and that is appreciated. We all want to see Paralives successed and if delaying it makes for a better game then that is best 💛

spunkyace

I'm not angry with the developers because I prefer that they take the time to make a good game instead of rushing a broken product, but I'm still disappointed.

Lucie Baha

we can buy anything flower in side the store flower? Or also any furniture inside the furniture store? I mean, in addition to the objects that are on the special surfaces (free plants and discounted furniture), I'm referring to any other furniture or flowers that are on the walls and floor. I mean, besides the items on the special surfaces (free plants and discounted furniture), I'm referring to any other furniture or flowers that are on the walls and floor. You can see they have prices, so that possibility came to mind.

Alexsandro Gnovatto

We already have a working autonomy system that does that! We are improving everything still though

Alex Massé

You can see the kind of bugs we have in the video above and we'll also do a public stream on November 25 to show gameplay again and explain what we are improving for release :)

Alex Massé

Thank you!

Alex Massé

Sad I have to wait but I'll rather do that then get a rush game. I appreciate you guys taking your time to give us put together game.

Tiffany Perry

A demo would be really nice. For now, however, it isn't planned. Preparing and packing a demo takes times and right now, we're focused on improving the live mode

Alex Massé

I'm not disappointed at all. Six months is nothing compared to six years. 😂 I'm so impressed with the depth and variety of options within the paramaker/ build mode and I can't wait to see what improvements the team will make to the live mode (especially when it comes to activities within the town). Thank you! ♥️

✨🌹Thorn Amongst🌹✨

Same feelings as everyone else over here. I know for me I'm the most excited about the build mode. Something that would be exciting for me and help to make the wait easier is if you guys released time lapses of home builds with what makes Paralives unique. I honestly don't have a ton of free time to watch an hour long livestream, but I would be thrilled to see 10 minute videos of some crazy cool builds beyond just basic houses!

Alex Cazander

It's okay!!! It'll be worth the wait so please take your time 💕💕

Dayqquil

Thank you Lucas, that's what made us take this hard decision

Alex Massé

Will play testing be expanded with this delay? I would love to contribute more to the project

Joey

I'm sorry you took the day off and now it's delayed! We're hard at work improving the live mode to make the May release as good as possible!

Alex Massé

I am totally fine with you guys taking the time to get it right, and release a game you’re proud of and excited for players to enjoy! That’s been your mission statement the whole way along, and sometimes our own timing just doesn’t play along!

Kayleigh

We're hard at work and confident for the May release. A demo would be nice. However, preparing and packing a demo takes times and right now, we're focused on improving the live mode

Alex Massé

Thanks Sammy!

Alex Massé

Thank you MG. It was a very hard decision to make

Alex Massé

Thanks so much Holly!

Alex Massé

I know that feeling, it was a very hard decision!

Alex Massé

Thank you Sarah!

Alex Massé

Thank you!!

Alex Massé

Thank you!!! <3 <3 <3

Alex Massé

I'm not gonna be a broken tape and pretend. I'm devastated, especially after all the things happening in the life sim genre right now. But I understand, the build mode and paramaker looks amazing, but live mode should be even better. Either way, I root for you guys, and excited to see what the future holds.

Csabuszka

Thank you Sara! We've already fixed many of the bugs in the stream and we'll fix many more as well as adding content to the live mode

Alex Massé

I know, the timing is bad, it was a very hard decision that we made after the most recent playtests

Alex Massé

I concur, I would love a limited closed beta for Patreon supporters.

Dawn Kelley

I'm sorry Jordan! It was a very difficult decision and we're really sad too but happy and confident we'll be able to deliver a good quality life sim in May

Alex Massé

Thanks Vee!!

Alex Massé

Thanks so much for understanding Lucie!

Alex Massé

Thank you Madeline!!

Alex Massé

Thanks so much for your kind message Lane!

Alex Massé

Thanks so much Melina!

Alex Massé

Thank you! We are locked in to release this game, Paralives means everything to us

Alex Massé

Thanks for the kind words! A demo would be nice. However, preparing and packing a demo takes times and right now, we're focused on improving the live mode

Alex Massé

I hope you all aren't too disheartened by this. Honestly, I'm kind of glad, since Live Mode was the most recent aspect being worked on and seemed to be lacking a lot. You only get one first impression on your player base, after all. Can't wait to play this in spring! Keep up the good work everyone and enjoy the Yuletide festivities, if you celebrate any. <3

Inola Willow

I would like to thank the creator of Paralives and the entire team for your great work, heart and commitment to this project. I fully understand the decision to postpone the release it proves that you really care about quality and that players get an experience that is polished and unique. I appreciate your honesty, communication and how much you listen to the community. I keep my fingers crossed for further development and thank you for creating something so ambitious and beautiful. I'm waiting patiently it's worth it! ❤️

Creamydelicious

Thank you <3

Alex Massé

Sorry, I know it's disappointing

Alex Massé

As disappointed as I am, I understand. I am just getting old, so hopefully I'll see this game be real before I die (joke). But I also feel like the expectations on Paralives has only increased in the past few months. And I'd like you to release a game you are happy with after all this hard work.

Dawn Kelley

To be honest, I expected a delay, especially after seeing the bugs in the live mode livestream 😅. No worries though! I prefer to wait and get a good, stable game ^^

Océane Gougeon

Thank you so much for your message!

Men snälle vad ni än gör.

Sara Andersson

I’m not mad that the game was delayed, but it does seem like a pretty long delay, almost 6 months, for a game that was supposed to be nearly ready for Early Access. If the game was delayed to, let’s say, February, I think people would be a bit more understanding. In any case I will be happy to play a more polished version of the game when ready

Chloette

As ppl have suggested a little demo of maybe the PAM just to reassure ppl while they wait, I think would be nice since May is quite far away (whether that's a good idea or not I'm iffy abt, lol) I do imagine this announcement is going to get alot of backlash since it felt like the game was *right* there for many ppl, which is going to be... smth for sure😅 i really respect this decision though. I just hope this will be the last delay, bc while i agree that delaying instead of publishing a half-baked game is better, it's still not a good look not very promising and not great for morale, some of us have been waiting since 2019, ppl might lose interest, ykn etc. etc. constant delays really kill a game I'm sure it'll work out in the end though, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (bc i believe in the product) I didn't like the December date to begin with anyway.. I can't remember why😅 but for some reason it didn't work for me. I'll try to recall whatever issue i had at the time, lol and question: are you going to implement the "Town events" that was according to the roadmap planned for *after* EA because it was mentioned in the announcement that you wanted "more activities in the town"?

SirStruffle

While I’m sad about not playing it this year, but happy to learn the release is now around my birthday month. So no complaints here! 😄 All good though. Better to delay than release in an unsatisfactory state.

Guy Archer

Thank you

Alex Massé

I've been following the development of paralives since the beginning and the evolution of this project is incredible, this postponement only shows your passion for the game and how much you want to deliver a great experience for us players.

MattSeibel

I understand the disappointment, I'm really sorry about that. We had to make that difficult decision to ensure the game has a good launch

Alex Massé

It's okay for people to be disappointed. But we have to be aware that it's a small team doing what it can with what it has available. Just "wanting to release the game soon" doesn't automatically make it playable. And it's much better for the game to be delayed than to release it in its current state with performance issues. We have games that were extremely criticized because they were released like that and were unplayable at launch (hi Cyberpunk 2077). While some people understand that a game in Early Access has problems and accept playing it without any problem, the general public doesn't understand this and would criticize the game if it were released now. Being in Early Access means having fewer features than the final version, but whatever is released must at least be playable and have sufficient content (and the team is aware of this). It's not like the team wants to release just anything to get paid first, because we know the deep dedication of this team; those who have followed them for a while know the miracles they perform on the game even though they are such a small team. I know it's nerve-wracking, I was looking forward to playing on the 8th, but it's the best thing for the game.

Alexsandro Gnovatto

There's been so many eyes on you all recently with everything, so much excitement and pressure, lots of comparisons that even if aren't in bad spirit, does make people come into Paralives expecting a lot more than you can currently offer. I'm glad you decided to do what's best for you, and I think it'll pay off in the long run :)) why did you decide on May 25th specifically? I have another question, does this mean, for Andrei, he'll continue working on new sounds or features (like the pitch slider) you were intially going to have to do in EA?

mazyfly

😔

Erevaia

Ufff considering how hard of a post this is to read, I’m sure it’s x100 times harder to write it and share with us. As disappointing as the news are so close to the date, I do think that it’s 100% the right decision. I’ll be honest, this last livestream was the first time that I saw something in the game that left me uncertain of how enjoyable it would be. As exciting as it is to see new gameplay and new town details for the first time, I did keep thinking how it will annoy me the details like the blocked characters and the walls from the shops after we entered them, it would take me off from the whole experience… So I feel like this hard call had to be done, and the game will only be benefited by it! I think that one of the hardest things now is that we will be too eager to learn and discover more of the game in the next 6 months, whilst I know you still want to keep the *secrets* for the release. So I hope the next posts and livestreams will still give us valuable intel into the game to keep us going during the wait 🥹 Also, I saw a suggestion of a paramaker or build mode demos for patreons in the meanwhile, and to be honest, this made total sense. If there’s a way for you to make this happen, I think it would be a perfect Xmas gift and will make the community thrilled to be able to explore this part of the game which is “complete for early access” 👏🫶

Cassia Teixeira

I’m not disappointed just disheartened but I couldn’t even imagine how difficult making a game is as a small indie company and I fully support your decision and will continue to do so until you decide to release the game, but can I recommend at least giving us a demo/paramaker only for December 8th? That’s enough for me and many others while we wait.

Rolo 🍫

maybe not ten times over.... :D

Stewby

I think most people are understanding of the delay because we just want a good life sim game to enjoy. And if that takes more time so be it.

Amanda S Adedire

It did feel unfair to release a game in early access at what other games would consider full price when you had been open with the fact that it would be buggy. I would have rather you not announced a release date, and maybe had a closed beta for people that paid to be here. It feels unfair that only people who can afford it every month get a character in the game and/or a pet. Wouldn't we be the best early access audience? I'm not 100% sure how many of us there are, but it's incredibly disappointing that we don't get first dibs on access. Would you consider that in the future?

Lena

Thank you Vash!

Alex Massé

It was a very difficult decision, yes, thank you for understanding and happy birthday in advance!

Alex Massé

I'm happy to wait as long as Paralives needs and I appreciate the transparency, as difficult as it must be to even make the decision. What I've seen so far makes me excited to see more and if waiting means getting more polish and features then I truly believe it will be worth it. ❤️

Trisha

Thank you <3 <3 <3

Alex Massé

i am disappointed that the game has had to be delayed but i understand and accept the reasoning behind it. there is no point pouring all that love and care into a game just to half-ass it at the end. there will be no heart on this post but i am sending you lots of hugs. roll on may.

Stewby

I just want to say that I’m so grateful for all the efforts you’ve put and pour out with the build mode and the paramaker. And ngl, I was a bit worried about the live mode since you had your priorities set before with these said core features. Sooo, I was hoping for the release date to be pushed at a much later date and I’m glad you did. Take all the time you need and I know how cumbersome bug fixing can be and I wish you all the best, development and morale-wise ❤️

Mohammad Noor Noor

Another tough game delay pill to swallow. (Gta6) Hope Avatar 3 movie don’t suffer the same fate. Thanks for letting us know.

Ash Airheart

Thank you for all the hard work and for making this difficult decision, I'm sure it is the right one! Better to add depth to gameplay beforehand than to have a disappointing launch. Thank you also from my family who will be visiting over Christmas - now I will actually spend time with them 😆

Rosa Leonie de Haas

Thanks so much for your message, best of luck with our own game projects!

Alex Massé

Thanks for the heads-up. Even though I was really excited for the planned release it's understandable that you want to improve the game further before releasing it. I can only imagine how challenging the development of a simulation game is when there has only been one existing not to long ago so there are already a lot of expectations from players. Still I think you are doing a great job and are very transparent about what the cuurent state of the game is to thank you very much for that. Take your time. The game will be ready for EA release when it will be ready. Wish all of you the best! 👍

Nelly Stein

I understand about waiting, I do. But if you could, a paramaker demo would be great

Gina Ayars-Ritchey

I’ll be honest. The delay is disappointing. We’ve been waiting for so long, and with the early access release originally less than a month away, I was really excited to finally get my hands on the game. Now, with the new release date being several months out, it’s a bit tough, especially since its not just one or two months but half a year... At the same time, I completely understand. After seeing last week’s post about all the work that goes into creating even the smallest sounds, it really made me realize just how much effort is happening behind the scenes, things I never even considered before. It’s just a little hard to stay excited all the time, but I know how important it is for the first impression of a game to be great.

Rose

I personally don't mind and I understand this must have been a hard thing to decide, especially after just releasing stuff related to entering Early Access. I'm sure you will get some pushback, and I pray you are able to stand strong and confidently and support each other through that.

Mikkela

Don’t be rude, you’re giving off sims player energy, they’ve spent years of their life developing this game trying to make it the best it can be for OUR enjoyment, if they don’t want to release it yet that’s up to them, they don’t want to release it because they care about the players and want them to have the best experience possible, these aren’t just game developers, they’re a small team of people trying their best to make a game we will like and if they say they’re not happy with it then we will happily wait, if you want rushed bug filled rubbish go play sims or have some patience and respect for these people who are dedicating their time to make something nice for us to play

Emily

While disappointing, I'm glad to hear the team recognises their limitations and that youre choosing to push it back rather than push forward with something you're not all happy with. plus, yknow. 5 more months of patreon? no complaints about that in particular... #specialinterest. still, im sorry to hear it, as it almost feels like condolences should be given in a way. still remember to be proud of all you have done together and what youve created. make it exist, make it good, make it better. just gotta work on the better rn. so proud of the team i hope youre not all too disheartened

Cece

Understandable, and to be honest, I expected it. You guys are trying to accomplish a lot with just recently gaining an actual team. 🤓 I do have a question regarding the patron rewards. If I go to a lower tier will I still be able to claim the higher tier locked rewards? I would assume so since all of Legend rewards are locked.

Slice of Shekira

I applaud you for your courage, honesty and transparency, Alex. Don't you worry, I understand your reasons. May I ask why the release day is a monday? I would love it to be a friday, so "9-5, Mo-Fr" working people can then play on the weekend. Just curious if there is a specific reason for it being a Monday. ☺️

Olivia Graf

We'll make sure to improve and add content so that it's enough for the Early Access release in May

Alex Massé

Thank you!!

Alex Massé

Thanks so much for understanding

Alex Massé

Thank you!

Alex Massé

Thank you!

Alex Massé

this is a great idea, i think most of us players would love that!

k i a r a 🫧

I’d rather this happens 10 times over than it be released when you don’t think it’s ready, take your absolute time, nobody will rush you or make you feel like you’re not doing it fast enough, as long as you’re happy with it everyone else will be, we just appreciate that you care enough to do the playtests and notice these kinds of things and listen to your friends and fix them, we’d pick that 100X over than a rushed release that you’re not happy with, whatever you release and whenever you’re ready, it will be great

Emily

Take the time you need, better delay until next year rather than rush to meet a deadline and then struggle to get patches out ASAP ❤️

Mihaela Tudor

Thank you so much for your transparency - I know this must have been such a difficult post to write. As someone who has played many games in early access, there have definitely been some that I played only a few hours for and then dropped because there wasn't much there at the start. Making the choice to delay to ensure your players have a foundational and fleshed out base to add onto and to edit/improve into EA is the correct call. I would rather have something to explore and dive into for hours on end while waiting for updates than dropping only after a few play sessions until the next update arrives. You all have done so much already and I cannot wait to see how more time will allow you all to continue the development of the game. <3

Katie Wright

This is such odd timing after just releasing that "what to expect in early access is, to me, it's almost like they're trying to release a full game when that's not what early access is. Now I'm just worried that if they can't get it up to their high standards, they'll cancel the game totally, even after all the money everyone's put in it.

Freya Rawles

It is disappointing but as most of the community, we appreciate you guys taking the time to develop such a high quality game and to do it from a place of genuine love for gaming and creating something special rather than greed 🩷 As a suggestion I would like to say that maybe on Dec 8 we could get limited access to help detecting bugs. I dont know if this would create a lot of complications and would completely understand if it’s not possible of course. Just throwing it out there in case it’s a good idea, thanks for all the great work guys, really looking forward to May!

Clara Melero

Id like to see the paras be more autonomous! I don’t want to direct them to do every little thing. They should be able to get themselves up for work and decide to go somewhere etc

Mel Bender

Can't say I'm not disappointed, but I have always thought that 2025 was too early, even if it was scheduled for December. Personally, I'm curious on what the worst bugs were, just because I love seeing when you post bugs and glitches :)

Sarah

Only games by big publishers can, I think

Alex Massé

It makes sense, I did feel like they spent a lot more time on build mode and paramaker (which both look great) than live mode but live mode is the most important to me so I am glad they will now really work on this. I am of course very sad but time flies by so quickly anyway and I wasn't sure if I'd have much time to play it in December plus I may need a new laptop... but I am excited for the upcoming streams! Sending love as I am sure delivering this news is devastating for the devs xxx

Noeba

Thank you!!

Alex Massé

I understand, it's hard. Everyone on the team is also sad but we're happy that we will be able to improve live mode for the release in May to make sure the release goes well

Alex Massé

I think you guys should release just a paramaker demo in the meantime if no one is complaining about crazy bugs for those you could do that. Could also give CC modders time to play around with it and start working on things.

N3pharious

Honestly this is extremely disappointing. You guys should have found a way to release SOMETHING . Even If it was JUST the paramaker or just build mode ANYTHING at all. It’s not just the fact that we’ve been waiting sooo long it’s that yall had not only a release date but a follow up video CONFIRMING that it will still release just last week.

Cassity Simmer

People will get mad at this but they would be more mad if the game isn’t up to their expectations.

Lucas Medeiros

I'm so sad and sorry to hear this. Thank you to everyone for their hard work! I took off the day to fully dive into the game. Can I just have access to the build mode? 👏 ( I just need a tiny, tiny hit 🤧)

Adassa

Thank you Kristen!

Alex Massé

Thank you <3

Alex Massé

Sorry Melody!

Alex Massé

Thank you, it's so much work to finish a game but we'll get there!!

Alex Massé

Thanks so much Anna for understanding!

Alex Massé

Thank you! >> Just a question regarding the Hero and Legend Tiers, would this allow patrons to get an extension regarding the townie deadlines? If you already unlocked them, you can contact us but we still plan to finish all the characters in the next month or two >> As for pets as townies, will this mean Pets would arrive before the Early release deadline? No, we will be working adding pets to the game sometime after the Early Access release

Alex Massé

A last minute five months delay is pretty disappointing. I appreciate you all wanting to put a solid product out, but I hope this is the last delay. I saw someone suggest the release of a paramaker demo which I think would be a great “in the mean time” option.

Madeleine

Saves me some money during the holidays tbh lol. Can't wait to see what's added in May.

Sammy Clark

Unfortunate that this decision is being made so late in the process, particularly with the team having definitively set the EA release date - but that’s the reality of game development, especially because we’re seeing behind the curtain. My December holiday will look quite different now, but hoping the team achieves enough over the next several months to avoid further delays. I worry about the PR of this situation and how the player base might react. Wishing you all luck!

MG

Disappointing but understandable 💛 this is my dream game so I’ll gladly wait however long I need to! You guys are doing great work!

Holly

I had the feeling it would be delayed from the live, but still cried out in agony when i got the email

aza

Thank you Jessica!!

Alex Massé

Thanks James, we'll do our best and have a great launch in May

Alex Massé

That's okey! Take your time! I will wait 🤗

Sarah

Take your time! We can wait a little longer <3

CookieCake

Thanks so much for understanding and happy birthday in advance!

Alex Massé

Thanks so much!

Alex Massé

Thanks AJ!

Alex Massé

Thank you <3

Alex Massé

Thank you Alex!

Alex Massé

Thanks Becky!!

Alex Massé

Thank you Courtney

Alex Massé

I understand, I'm very sorry

Alex Massé

I'm sure you guys are sad to bring such news. Of course I'm sad as well & couldn't wait. But as we said for years we better wait for a great game to release instead of having an early release where we cannot enjoy the experience. Take your time & have a relaxing weekend. One thing to be happy about: We can enjoy more Patreon Posts <3 All the best!!!

Zissi D

Thank you! We'll work very hard to make this release a good one

Alex Massé

Lillian Hickey

It is a little disappointing, but after the live mode livestream it felt like there were still quite some bugs in there and stuff that needed to be polished. I understand your decision to delay the EA release and thank you for the transparency on this matter and hope you guys can use this extra time to get the game where you want it to be.

Sara Rocha

Thank you!!

Alex Massé

Thanks so much for your message!

Alex Massé

Echoing other people to say I'm not surprised at the announcement (though... the timing is pretty weird, given you *just* published that "what is early access" trailer and everything). Makes total sense to delay launch and make a much better first impression.

Nina

My heart sank down to my knees.....

Jordan Harrison

I only just realised seconds after! XD

Becky (Tinks)

Fine for me. I prefer a good game experience, so take your time. Hi from Berlin and good luck. x

Vee Andrea

I'm bite disappointed that paralives will be released later, but I prefer that you take the time you need to make a good game, so I totally understand that. I also like the transparency.

Lucie Baha

I'm sorry!!

Alex Massé

Thanks so much for understanding!

Alex Massé

Of course, we are fully committed!!

Alex Massé

Thanks so much for the support!

Alex Massé

Thank you!

Alex Massé

<3

Alex Massé

Thank youuu

Alex Massé

Thank you for your transparency & dedication to quality over quantity. I'm disappointed of course, but I would much rather have a delay than the alternative. Thanks for all your hard work, I'm happy to continue supporting.

Madeline

Thank you so much for sharing this with us and for explaining! I, for one, am relieved, because I'm really busy this December and I want to have maximum time to enjoy Paralives! May is much better for me personally, and I just know you had that in mind when you made the decision ;) I'm so amazed at how much you all have accomplished as such a small, dedicated team. We've been so lucky to be included in this journey with you. I'm grateful for your hard work and the care you put into this game, and I trust your judgment as developers! From the start it's been clear you want to release a game that you're happy with and that players will enjoy. December is definitely sneaking up fast, and I think it's great that you're giving yourselves some more time to have a smooth and successful release. Sending lots of love and excitement! Looking forward to all the updates along the way <3

Lane Brettschneider

I think that is a good decision! We're more than willing to wait a few more months and I'm really looking forward to seeing the improvements the team will make in those upcoming months!❤️ Much love for everyone and I hope the team isn't too disappointed!

Melina W

Thank you!

Alex Massé

Delay as much as you need just please don't cancel the game like Life By You did!!!

Tauras Giedraitis

I'm sorry! It was a really hard decision

Llunanova 72

Shame you delayed it, but I completely see why you did it. Thank you SO MUCH for your transparency. Looking forward to Early Access in May of next year!

sjbros814

Totally understand! Would you consider releasing a paramaker demo before then?

Alexis Kuchta

Unfortunately, the roadmap link doesn't seem to lead anywhere! It says the page doesn't exist. As sad as it is (I was really looking forward to Paralives), I know you're doing your best and waiting the extra months will be worth it. Thank you for all of your hard work!

sword_cats

This just makes me want to cry 😢

Lili Fras

Take all the time you need. This game deserves to have the best launch it can. So if more polishing is needed, we don’t mind waiting. I look forward to watching more streams! Thank you so much for working so hard on this beautiful project!

Whimsett

Oooh I like this idea!!

Len

Incredibly sad news but good news. We would rather have a polished game over a broken one. Many people were stressing over lack of gameplay shown so this willl hopefully reassure them

c.rose94

I'm going to be honest, I'm disappointed. I've been waiting since 2019 and was really looking forward to it. On top of that, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth because we've seen this happen far too often with other games in recent years. I've set aside time for it, and it's annoying that it's been postponed at such short notice. But there's nothing we can do about it, and time is important. We have no choice but to wait another 6 months. Even though I might not be able to play the game because my birthday is the day before.

MissStay

Honestly, based on all the Dev chats I was worried it would lack gameplay and be poorly labeled upon release. I love what you guys are doing and I also want it to get a great reception so I am sad we won’t get our hands on it but excited for a more polished release for you! Thanks for doing the tough but right thing!

Vash T

I kinda saw that coming, to be honest. I was very excited because Paralives was supposed be like a birthday gift for me, on my 30th birthday no less. I'm a little too sad at the moment to say the whole "take your time" bit, but I'm sure it was a difficult decision to make. Please don't be another Life By You. 😞

Pedro Lima

After playing a lot of games/DLC that very clearly were pushed to release before they were ready, I think this is a good call. I'm sad to wait even longer, but hey, I've been waiting 6 years, an extra 6 months won't kill me😂 Thank you for your hard work that you've all put into this game, I'm excited to see what it becomes by May!💜💜

Cecil Fischer

This makes me soo sad! Maybe we could get a demo or steam key for patreons with build mode and character customization instead? 😭 💔

Monica Pena

Sad, but not unexpected. I'll be honest, I was a bit skeptical of the original early access release date, given what had been shown up to that point. I'll be looking forward to the release on May, and will be happy to keep supporting the patreon until then, although I imagine some people will be disappointed. As a hobbyist game dev myself, I understand how hard game development can be, so I completely understand the need for more time. Good luck, team!

Mauro Fantin

Thank goodness! I was worried live mode would have nothing to do during early access launch

Adrian Silagan

Understandable guys! Your efforts are really appreciated 💖

Anyela Carvalho

It's better to wait until it's truly ready for early release, than to release something that a lot of peope will be disappointed in. I much prefer waiting. Thank you for your honesty, and for wanting your players to enjoy early access.

NoNayNever

While disappointed, I am happier to hear that the team is taking things like bugs and lack of activity seriously. I’d rather wait for a better product than have the experience soured by a rush job. Thank you.

GirlFromEponymous

Thank you for your transparency as a team. Im sure we can all agree that we’d prefer a better, more polished game even it’s it comes out a little later than first expected. ❤️

jamie

theres no way to add an pre-sale in steam?

JohtoGamesOf

Omg noo 😭. You guys made the right decision. It’s admirable that this team don’t rush anything. Keep pushing Para team 🤍

Kali

Well, I have been waiting singe the first ever video for this game to launch, so I don’t mind another six months but still I am a little sad. But take ur time🫶🏻

Neele Neele

This is disappointing. It seems every game is being delayed lately for some reason. 😔 I'll be waiting patiently I'm still super excited! 🫶🏼

Kristen Wright

as much as id hoped to play the game this year, this is for the best and i cant wait to see even more improvements until 25 ♡

sagebye

oh

Melody

So many games delay releases. Even ones from big makers like GTA etc. Understandable.

Adelia Creates

I would be a liar if I said my initial reaction wasn't 'devastated' because I've been chewing my hubby's ear off and counting down the days. But I fully understand the decision and just truly shows the love and care that is going into the game. I tell everyone about this amazing dolls house game that's got clear passion behind it. It has to feel perfect for you guys and I'm here for that. ❤️

Anna H

That’s okay! Delays just mean the game will get even better, and my expectation increases tenfold! Just a question regarding the Hero and Legend Tiers, would this allow patrons to get an extension regarding the townie deadlines? As for pets as townies, will this mean Pets would arrive before the Early release deadline? Thank you and take your time! It’s like not rushing through an OT (occupational therapy) or medical procedure. Paralives is looking GREAT so far!

Julio Saliba

I can’t imagine how difficult a decision this was. Looking forward to continued updates and a great early access game in May! Thank you so much for your amazing work and communication!

Jessica Tourtellotte

This sucks. But oh well. Nothing we can do about it.

James Harley

I was very happy to know the release day would be right by my birthday in December. I'm a little disappointed by this delay but I have faith that the quality will be much better!

Anh Trần

I dont mind the delay at all. Ive been waiting 6 years, I can wait a little longer 😊 id rather it went on early access as bug free as possible rather than a game that becomes unplayable. Youre all doing fantastic work, thank you!!!

Gill Reid

While the news is disappointing, I really appreciate that you guys are delaying the release in order to improve live mode!!

AJ Westhoff

Understandable. Take your time polishing :)

Klacksy

We just want the best version of the game. Take your time <3

Alex Singer

Oh bless you guys. It takes alot to make it extra special and just right so take all the time you need ; we’ll be supporting you all the way 🥺🫶🏻💓

Becky (Tinks)

It’s been pushed to next May. I appreciate the transparency and if the game needs the extra time, take it. Thank you for providing the best possible experience for us.

Courtney Reynolds

OK wow half a year I can't speak how gobsmacked im

Sláine Sheils

completely understand that you'd want the most complete game possible to be in our hands! I'll be sad but honestly so excited to get my hands on it properly in May! thank you for everything you do!

Fiammetta G

That’s understandable take your time. I rather you put out something you’re confident in than rush out something.

Dior K

It takes a lot to admit you need more time for something. I'm really thankful you guys are pushing back the early release date to give us a better game. No matter what you guys do, you will have a large crowd behind you supporting you! For those who didn't read the entire thing the early release is pushed back to May of 2026 now. But let's remember they are a small team working on a big project. They want to give us a quality product.

Smutsia

Oh dear. 🤔

Windbrook

I for one am actually happy that you're open to pushing back the EA period if you feel it's necessary for a solid launch. I'd wait another six years if I had to to make sure Paralives is what you want it to be! (Though I would be sad lol)

Maise

I'm totally ok with y'all delaying, just please make sure this game comes out ❤️

Amanda Hotchkiss

don't worry!!!! we can wait a little more <3 Great job!, thank you!!!!!

Sebastián Delgado Roldán

Take all the time you guys need. We will wait in patience for the early access😄

d_yun

Thank you guys for taking the time to do it right. So many times we get games that are rushed out for the sake of meeting a deadline. I’m bummed I have to wait longer, but I’m still super excited to play!

CraftyK8e

Take your time ☺️💖

GamerPrincessXI

Read it again xD

Rayan BH

The delay is disappointing but I truly hope it’ll result in a better product. Looking forward to it

ThatOneCamel

Woah this is so disappointing 😢
