Here's Harley!

Even though work still progresses from day to day on the game I still try and find some time here and there to work on something else.
When I say something else it mostly ends up being to try get all of the characters up to today's standards and so far I'm 90% satisfied with both the professor and Kara in their respective G8 versions instead of the now increasingly outdated V4 and M4 versions.
I did mention it in an earlier post that because of my stubbornness mixed with monetary reasons I held off in using the Genesis models when Daz came out with it and just continued using the V4/M4 models.
A big part of it was that almost none of the assets used in the modelling can be used interchangeably either, so it would have meant that a lot of the clothes, hairstyles etc. wouldn't have been possible and the characters would have looked differently.
So i just held off and thought to myself that I'll make the switch when there's a lot of content available to it and it wouldn't make sense to change models mid game or re render all of the content so that's also what made me hold off...
Then one day, Genesis got updated to G2 which meant that the old Genesis got outdated and all the stuff along with it, making the old V4/M4 even more outdated...
Time went on and Daz kept updating and changing, but we've been at their Genesis 8 for some time now.
Long enough that I've been slowly building an asset library and today I wanted to share Harley version 8 with you.
It's taken some time but I'm sure that her final form (the one with the black hair and fishnet stockings) is close enough to the old Harley that it is satisfactory.
I really want to hear your thoughts on her look, even more since a lot of you have been following my work for a while and I truly try to stay as close to her design as possible, even if making her 100% identical would be impossible.
Harley even has a few hardcore fans, which I'm sure would be interested to see a possible short image series with the new Harley.

Hey Alexus, that's not the case at all. Updating the models is for their continued stories after the game. Most likely pinups and hopefully comic series. The main reason for the lack of updates in a while is the very full schedule of Vaasref, the coder.

As soon as I found that hairstyle the character clicked for me, the face is of course different from the OG Harley, but I did feel that I at least got it close enough. Maybe I'll compare the V4 version with the current one once more, to see if there are some glaring dissimilarities...

2022-06-13 08:08:46 +0000 UTCI think that the hair on the third one is obviously closer to the original but the face is a bit off. I think the face on the first one is closest to the original and I think that's the most important part. People change their hair but their faces stay more or less the same, so keeping a similar face is important in my mind.
