Character Design Process

This is a description of Sussurro's design.

I can't upload a sketch that was actually used, so I'm going to write what I was thinking by not-submit-drafts.

It's a simple idea.

Although she is a medical character, I wanted to make her delicate atmosphere.

However, I thought it would be good if I could have a little dry but bothersome feeling... It's not childish cuteness.

I want to give an active impression that she can do her job in the battlefield, so I lighten the volume of the silhouette of her lower body and wear sneakers at her feet.

The costume is a poncho with a big hood attached.

I don't know why I wanted to make a poncho that was difficult to draw, but I'm glad that the unique silhouette came out as a result.

However, it was difficult to establish the structure while maintaining the characteristic design, and it was decided to add and subtract the elements little by little while gazing at the reference.

Costume design takes a lot of time, but compared to the shape of the character itself, it's less confusing to the end.

I wanted the color to be clean, so I changed it cold color.

At first, I had an image of a more introverted character, so I created a darker color scheme but It's not seems medical staff, so it’s good it wasn't adopted.
